Third trip to Curacao. The Sandals resort was nice, but three critical things to keep in mind- they do not have natural beachfront, a small man made inlet; the resort is hell and gone from Williamstead, $100+ Uber ride, and they do have a Uber like service on the island; aside from the large infinity pool or your own private pools, if you roll for the $1,500-2,500 per night villas, there really isn’t that much to do. The golf course is right there, but once you do a circuit through their themed restaurants… that’s it.
You can drive on the island, right hand drive, but the roads are sketchy, no shoulders, tight, and confusing signage.
.
Since it was my wife’s first time, that’s why we stayed at Sunscape - we stayed three nights at an all inclusive near town, at half the price, and a 5 min. drive and close to a lot of things to do. Including. four casinos. So we got to sight see - shop, experience authentic island cuisine at an absolutely wonderful resort. The staff were attentive, the room is older, but clean, new bath. The beaches were nice, the pools too. The food was great, and the drinks strong.
And then we went baller for the $1k+ a night Sandals experience for a couple days, 3-4 is all you you will need, a week is too much, you will go stir crazy even through it is absolutely beautiful…
Do your homework.. But if you really want Curacao, weigh your options and your purse, you do have many options..
Sunscape is wonderful, close in… soild 3 star experience.

This hotel is not at all pleasant

The beach at Sunscapes is extremely beautiful

Small resort that is perfect for navigating. Friendly staff. Beautiful beach. Hotel just needs a little updating.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever seen, and after staying here I had to leave a review.
1. The hotel is super outdated, towels are old, rooms are old and most things are not functional, nothing looks like the pictures, AC’s don’t work, lighting in the rooms are very poor.
2. Service is absolutely terrible, at all restaurants, except for the girls in the Sun Club concierge. Housekeeper forgets to leave towels almost everyday, so then you have to request them and wait about an hour for towels. Room service will take about an hour. Servers throughout the restaurants will ignore you, forget your order, and you will wait hours for your order due to this.
3. Sun Club is an absolute waste of money, the rooms are still terrible, quality of food is still terrible and if you’re doing it for the room service, don’t, you’ll be waiting 3 hours for mediocre food, and you’ll have to call the room service line 10-15 times before they finally answer to take your order. The restaurants they say you get with upgrading to Sun Club, have about 2 options for meals.
4. Food is inedible, and I mean, like terrible. The options are mediocre, the quality is mediocre, on top of the fact that you will be waiting at a restaurant hours for your meals.
5. Drinks are also mediocre and very weak, even at the Sun Club.
6. Pool areas are not clean and also very outdated.
7. Beach is honestly one of the only good things about this hotel, and the location which is a quick walk to Mambo Beach.

This place is filthy & not well maintained. Ripped furniture. Dilapidated patio chairs. The “garden” view is a dirt patch. Missing ceiling tiles & closet doors. Stains everywhere including the tables, bedding, mirrors, even the shower curtain! This is after they separated our group despite our request for conjoined rooms because “1 person had a different last name so we thought they weren’t family.” When we asked to alter rooms so we’d be close together, they downgraded our rooms, seemingly out of spite. We had to fight for room changes after 2 nights to get better accommodations closer to the value we paid for (still sub par but better). Nightclub that’s advertised doesn’t actually exist. “Casino” is just a few 80s era machines. Pictures don’t match the reality. Restaurants had very limited seating & not enough staff to support the number of guests. Buffet very limited options. Hate to say it but the term “roach motel” came to mind numerous times. Would not recommend.

The property was nice and had a beach and pool on the property, which were both very nice. The restaurants on property had limited food options and quality of food was below average. The night entertainment was average. We enjoyed how we could walk to Mambo beach in less than 5 minutes and the bus stop was right outside the property that took us into town. All the staff were very sweet and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience.

Went for my birthday, had so much fun. Went to Klein Island for an excursion and that was also a nice experience.

This Property should Not be part of the Expedia Option.
The Location is great.
Rooms are Dirty, Ac in the room doesn't work, I try 2 different rooms and was at the same condition, The Bathroom sink doesn't have a drain, the refrigerator for the drinks doesn't work either, there are Not any premium liquor, Food quality is Great but not that many options, service at the restaurants is not good due to lack of employees.
I will Not go to this location again at all, is a waist of money.

The resort was nice and staff were really friendly. Some of the staff is new and gives wrong information. Most of the food we had was room temperature or cold. We did eat some hot food. Main pool was not clean it was cloudy. We only got in the pool one time. I preferred going to the beach anyways. One of my friends had her new bottle of perfume stolen out the room. She was not happy about that at all. Overall our stay was good but it could have been better.

The resort was as expected (I saw pics and read the reviews before), no pretentious with nice beach and very enjoyable water, cool pools specially for kids and few restaurants to change menus. Should increase employees number to ensure faster service. Close to downtown and airport but far from rockies and nicer beaches in the island and taxis are very expensive (to keep in mind if you are choosing a less expensive hotel but want to visit around the beautiful coast). I staid with my 12 yo son and intertained, overall nicely..just in my opinion today everything and anywhere is too expensive for the quality and vacation you get (flights situation worldwide in general unrespectable)

It’s a-shame such a nice beautiful beach and area but not well kept up. The resort is falling apart. Some staff are friendly but some aren’t. Customer service should be a priority in tourism. Food is great. Shows are not the greatest but not the worse. Mainly, the entire resort needs maintenance. Pillows and mattress not comfortable, bathroom toilets and showers must be replaced. Cabinets need replacement as well as the doors. Beach is great. Love the enclosure by the rocks. It makes us feel safer.

great all-inclusive for kids and families. there are tiers of what meets your needs.

Overall what we expected - recommendations when an area is marked 18 (adult) enforce it! Would love to see bartenders walking beach not just "clean up" boys - beach to pool bar not a fun consistent walk! But again loved the resort so would go back tomorrow if we could!

Food was terrible, rooms were dirty, no air conditioning, filthy!

I absolutely cannot believe this is a Hyatt. The food was not edible. Room service never answered in the 3 days we stayed. The check in staff was often confused and repeatedly got my room number mixed up due to translation. I am usually very laid back, especially when traveling internationally. The rest of the staff however were bright & cheerful. 100 percent cannot recommend.

Relatively clean and comfortable

Not the best service, no rush to please the clients.
It’s been 3 days so far, only hot water in bathroom. It’s a very humid and hot environment, so the cold showers could be nice. No support at all, front desk didn’t even offer to take our luggage to room. Restaurants are not all open every day, require long waits and reservations. Stacy at the buffet is the only great part of this stay, she is pleasant and helpful.
Every day we wait 10 minutes to be served coffee or drinks at the buffet, we have not gone to a restaurant because it’s impossible to get service.
I recommend walking 1/3 mile up the street to the mall and eat dinner outside resort.
VIP called us to say how we enjoyed coupons we never received, we again made mention of shower and water size and still nothing. Also, we reserved ocean front and it’s not what we got, we are on the side viewing a storm drain.
Do not recommend this hotel at all, avoid them and the Hyatt chain.

Rooms were gloomy and worn out.Food was absolute crap

Very friendly and helpful with son who has severe nut allergies. They gave us a pass to help us and him feel confident to eat.
Snorkeling was amazing.

This is stated as a 4 star hotel and it needs to be shut down and remodeled immediately. You can keep the huts, pool and beach view. But the food is horrible, drinks alcoholic and non are watered completely down. Paying what I paid was not worth this "all inclusive resort". Who pays for food and amenities and is hungry looking for food at 10pm and has to order because the food had flies all over it earlier so you didn't eat. I'd love a refund because the accommodations and food were not up to par and their pictures on website are deceiving from 20 years ago.

Great staff but terrible food. Rooms needed updated

The hotel needs to be updated other than that we had a great time . The hotel is nice and big they keep you entertained with Pedro multi tasking different kinds of activities. Great service at the bar. In regards of the food since is all inclusive the one side of cold food needs to be covered with a net or plastic due to too many flies over the food.

This property is outdated compared to others on the Island. However, that did not take away from the beautiful ocean the island has to offer. We had a wonderful time for my daughter's birthday, thanks in part to Juliet and the wonderful staff at the Bluegrill.

The staff members at both the dining areas and entertainment staff is excellent!!

Not very friendly staff
The Food is very bad. No elevators to the rooms. I pay extra for vip, it’s a joke don’t spend money on this property. Hyatt should be ashamed of themselves

Beautiful beach, staff very friendly. Food disgusting, drinks watered down. Had to change rooms, freezing cold showers, no housekeeping.

Save you money!! we could not get a room until 5:30 PM when check-in is at 3 o’clock walk to quarter of a mile to my room the keys do not work. Had to walk back to the front desk!! The food is disgusting the alcohol don’t waste putting those calories in your body alcohol water down! The rules are old and outdated, had a flood in the bathroom roach in my friends room…. the only thing that saves that place is the ocean and the staff otherwise do yourself a favor and do not book at this resort
1.0
Overall, a very poor experience I can tell you the only thing this property has going for it is the reef around their ocean access point. A/C wasn't working properly we informed them immediately after check-in had to call back three times, and finally they sent someone up not to check on the A/C but rather with a rotating fan.
Food was not good! Staff was friendly and helpful for the most part except for a handful. Crazy G was our favorite! OH, and alcohol is only well rum and vodka. Unless you're a sun club premium member and they through in a few others but still not a huge selection.
Ate food off the resort once and was amazed with how good it tasted compared to the resort. Wasn't expecting 5 stars but at least 3? Hey, you get what you pay for, next time will definitely not be staying here!

DO NOT STAY HERE ! I’ve been all over the world and this was by farrrrrrr the WORST “resort” i’ve ever stayed at !
1. the room doesn’t look like the room we booked online
2. room was dirty with roaches , outdated
3. no AC , they offered a fan but i did not spend all this money and fly all this way to melt !
4. thank goodness we were able to get another room in a another building . the building was newer and nicer but we had downgrade the room for two days out of our five
5. still had cold showers
6. gave us a hard time to switch our room to the upgraded one
7. Dreams Resort presentation manager was rude
8. the service desk told us we couldn’t participate in the raffle & never mentioned we wouldn’t get two spa credits
9. we asked for taxis with credit card readers and the front desk kept order taxis that were cash only
10. the gift shop lady following me around step by step
11. nobody answers the phone (sun club) (room service)
over all horrible experience! and i will never go back !
