We had a brilliant time at the hotel, staying in their gorgeous suite. It was comfortable, elegant and made us feel very special. And speaking of special, the staff there were wonderful as well, helping us however they could.
4.3
Really expensive hotel, beautiful lobby but the room on the 6th floor was bad.
Had to go five times down to the lobby because the key didnt work.
Was a really bad smell in the room, like someone had peed on the floor.
4.3
Overall I thought the hotel was quite underwhelming. The room was fine but on the smaller side. There was no robe on offer which I would have expected and the room service menu was quite basic. The floorboards are very creaky and I could hear people moving around in the room above and to the side of me quite loudly. I checked in late but a party that was going on in the bar was spilling over into reception which made it difficult to interact with the receptionist (absolutely not his fault). The spa was pleasant and the gym was ok but again, I would have expected more.

the bathroom had unsafe broken tiles. Shower was poor.
Breakfast was Poor - Cooked Breakfast - bacon was cold and very tuff to eat, No chef to cook eggs to order. My food and drinks were cleared off my table before I was finised whilst I was getting a drink !

We had a great time. Lovely hotel. Great room and comfy bed. Would definitely return again.
4.3
Great breakfast and lovely bar

Room wasn’t ready until 4.15 did give complimentary drinks but didn’t inform cocktails weren’t included.
Room was nice although twin beds very close to one another, could do with at least a side table.
The room above us was playing loud music and sounded like a party going on, did ring reception twice and it did stop eventually, offered a discount on check out but not sure if I have received as they said it was going through booking agent.
4.3
Grand Hotel immaculate cheerful helpful front desk staff bed and bath ample in size and comfort. Location across from parking garage .
4.3
Stayed for our Company's Charity Ball. I particularly loved how friendly the front desk and waiting staff were.
4.3
Beautiful hotel, great location and incredible staff!
4.3
Excellent hotel but be sure to ask for a room with working air conditioning. Stayed at hotel few times and a lot of the rooms don’t have working air conditions. I think it is because they are upgrading the AC system but they do have rooms with AC that work
4.3
I stay in a lot of hotels, so these comments are based on experience and preference.
1. The lighting is awful in the room and in the bathroom.
2. I went to reception to request decaf coffee pods, which they said housekeeping would bring to the room but they never arrived.
Otherwise a good experience with sockets both sides of the bed and a powerful shower.
4.3
The room was worn, with the carpet lifting in multiple areas. The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. We called reception to ask for replacement pillows, which were delivered to our room but they were no better than the others and were still very uncomfortable. The curtains also didn’t cover the window effectively so there was a bright beam of light in the room through the night. We told guest services about our experience and they just thanked us for the stay, we didn’t get the impression that they would do much with the feedback. The lobby and entrance are all stunning but the quality drastically drops when you get to the rooms it definitely shouldn’t be considered to still be a luxury hotel!

Great stay

Beautiful hotel and very attentive staff. The lighting in the bedroom was really bad though, really hard to do makeup as there’s barely any light. Breakfast was really nice but the coffee does need improvement
4.3
The hotel was fine, comfortable room and easy check-in. Only problem was when checking in I asked if they had anywhere we could grab some food as we had been travelling for 5 hours. The receptionist said of course we have some stuff on the menu that’s available through room service 24 hours per day. We called them numerous times when we got to the room and there was no answer. I called reception and they said they’d get someone to call us. We waited for 45mins and no one called back. Complained in the morning but they didn't seem bothered.
4.3
A few issues with things broken around the room or hanging off wall / skirting.
Overall a comfortable stay
4.3
Luxury Hotel but the customer service experience from multiple members of staff was more Ryanair. So it must come from the top. They are a hotel who nickel and dime you for everything.
4.3
Exceptional spa break for couples highly recommend for a relaxing trip with high quality standards.
4.3
Enjoyed the stay, was perfect for our visit to Manchester

Hotel is beautiful. Felt we got a rubbish room which was pokey and dated, looking at other rooms these seemed much better than ours and it smelt damp. No different to the other branded hotels nearby. The car park is a fair walk also.
4.3
Another great stay at The Midland Hotel.
Friendly welcome from the staff, hassle-free check-in and check-out, had a great stay.
The only negative are the smokers who congregate outside of front doors, not pleasant to walk through as a non-smoker.
4.3
A lovely hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff. An impressive front entrance and downstairs area. The spa is well equipped and clean. The rooms are comfortable and a decent size. Overall the hotel is definitely one that I will stay in again.

I had a great stay at the midlands , starting with the lobby which was very luxurious it was a good start to the stay , the rooms were tidy & cosy , the tv was a smart tv which worked in perfect favour for me and my friends we were easily able to watch movies and YouTube , which you don’t get in many hotels , loved the sofa room in the hotel room with another tv that was great , and I loved how you get a proper shampoo and conditioner in the shower compared to other hotels where you get little samples , the hotel was very generous and gave us water whenever we needed , the only cons were I did ask if I needed to book a sauna and steam prior to the trip and I was told I didn’t need to however upon arrival I wasn’t able to go in it as I had to “book it” and It was already booked up , also in terms of parking it took almost forever to find somewhere to park , we eventually found a car park but had to pay £30 to park for one night !so it would have been great if they had their own car park just to be saved from inconvenience but other than that I can’t really fault them , everything else was perfect , it was also great value for money , can’t wait for my next trip to Manchester so I can book this hotel again

A wonderful stay for my son’s birthday! He loved it. The staff are so friendly and we had outstanding customer service, Elizabeth in the breakfast room and the lady who came to clean our room. So sorry I don’t know her name. Went for a massage in the spa, I booked a back, shoulder and neck massage. The massage only really concentrated on the back so I think it needs renaming as it is misleading and I was a bit disappointed although the massage was lovely. All in all it was a wonderful night away.

Great location central to restaurant, bars, shopping. Beautiful and well kept hotel. Clean. Pleasant staff. A great stay overall.

Historical and nice atmosphere, breakfast is so good, the room is clean and elegant, easily accessible to city center in Manchester. Very nice and highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our two night stay here for a 50th birthday, from check in to checkout. on check in we were given a drinks token to celebrate, two drinks on the house which was a nice touch. The bar is nice and relaxed, drinks are a bit pricey but the breakfast was really good. Plenty of room for us two in a superior king room which was clean and tidy. Mini fridge, iron, hairdryer in the room along with plenty of tea and coffee. Bathroom had a shower but it was powerful. elemis shower cream, shampoo & conditioner was provided which was good. We were hoping to have dinner in the restaraunt but it was closed, so might be worth checking when you book, no problems with finding somewhere to eat though, plenty of places nearby and only a 10 minute walk to The Ivy. The staff here were really pleasant, there was a really nice relaxed vibe about the place.

Fantastic breakfast. staff were very friendly. Bed was comfortable and sound proof. Great location for transport.
Downside was the room was not cleaned well. I had to clean the doorknob of the bathroom myself as there was an unidentified sticky substance on it. That really put me off considering how much I had paid for the room.
4.3
The hotel was charming and our upgrade was a great surprise. We were disappointed that we were unable to book into the pool. Breakfast in the restaurant offered us a wide variety of options and everything was fresh. Would stay here again.

very nice weekend stay

Lovely staff and an amazing hotel

We were there for a wedding and The Midland was somewhere I have always wanted to stay. It didn’t disappoint. It is a beautiful old building. Only negative was the pillows. We are used to feather and I found the hotel ones weren’t as comfortable but that is my own personal preference . All the staff were so helpful and pleasant. Made our stay a very happy one
4.3
Always an enjoyable stay

Beautiful building, friendly staff

Love the art deco theme of the inside and the outside of the hotel.
Had a very happy stay would definitely stay again

We paid for a junior suite as it was only one night and first one away without the children, so wanted to treat ourselves. Room was lovely, but massively claustrophobic as it had two windows but you couldn't see out of either as there was a wall in front of them. A real disappointment after paying so much money for an upgraded room to then feel like you were in a windowless room. We didnt like this at all, wished we'd saved our money and had a cheaper room with a window.
4.3
Staff were amazing and the entrance is impressive. However, we were woken at 5am by continuous trams outside. We didn’t have an external view which was very disappointing.
