Fabulous hotel and brilliant staff. location excellent.

Nice hotel but the staff was not nice

Sea view and corner room. Sea view means cooler room facing dawn. Corner rooms are bigger. Quiet and clean. Comfortable beds, pillows and bedding. Effective air conditioning and a splattering of English tv channels. As always the extensive, quality breakfast in the large, bright, corner dining room with fabulous beach and sea views did not disappoint. Hotel is not cheap but it is a real treat.

It's an ok hotel in Alicante. Location is great, the hotel has a good vibe, our room was clean and quite newly refurbished with a good AC but very badly sound proofed. The price-performance is off, it's too expensive for what it is and the personel is not the most attentative and professional. We had some issues with the reception, them not really attending our questions or not giving info that they should have. It was also mostly so crowded that it took 30min to ask someone a small question. The bartenders were also not really pros. They were friendly and could pour you a cold beer but that was about it, the coctails were a mess. We didn't visit the pools since the hotel is next to the beach and we didn't take the breakfast (was not included with a 280e/night in a normal double room without any extras) nor we ate in the restaurant.

Very smiling and serviceminded staff. Nice location right at the beach close to restaurants and shops.

Awesome room, view, location, breakfast and staff!

Nice view. Hotel is ok, rooma are a bit dated
Worst service ever. Reception staff are quite rude and certainly lazy when you ask for any kind of assistance. Restaurant staff are equally lazy. Youbhave to wait a very long time dor basic food or a drink at the pool bar.

Ideal location right next to the beach and Tapas bars etc stunning room (Junior Suite Sea View) definitely going back 😁

The hotel in general was good but very badly designed when it comes to the pool and solarium area as the pool is in the shade almost all off the time and the sun deck is shaded most of the time. The areas are blocked by the Melia hotels own building due to the design of the structure.

We normally stay in Meliá hotels… we hadn’t been here before, we absolutely loved our stay. We had booked the balcony sea view , room was lovely but balcony too small for us, we paid to upgrade to the suite, loved it. (You get what you pay for i suppose) I don’t understand the bad reviews, we found everything perfect for a 4 star hotel, room, food, checkin & out smooth, staff at reception, food & bar staff all very cheery…. That was in the level so don’t know about the main reception, bars & restaurant. Only negative is the pools, too small & shaded. But the beach is literally 30seconds away. Also I don’t think you should pay extra for breakfast in a suite….lots of ppl don’t even have breakfast including myself…I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat

Very good location, close to the beach and town and marina. Nice facilities like spa, pools, bar etc. and clean, modern rooms with sound proofing. We were unlucky as we got a premium room overlooking the sea and pool which meant it was noisy throughout the day and evening. The hotel is massive so all areas are busy and it can be quite noisy at times. Service was average. They tried to scam us for drinks we never ordered and it took some chasing to repair broken lights in the room provided.

Hotel was ok, but is not suitable for couples, as there were many noisy children in and around the pool area.

The hotel and staff are really helpful and happy. My two issues are QR codes for everything and flaking paint on our balcony.
The family and I try and avoid technology at the dining table so we left our phones in the room. We tried room service but that needs a WR code because no one answered our call. We the. Sat downstairs in the pool bar, we asked to see a menu and they said no we have to use our phones. This annoyed us because we wanted to detox from mobile phones!

Pros: comfy bed, lovely staff, good shower pressure, good A/C, great location, great food options in restaurant and room service
Cons: loud, screaming children (if you don’t want this book level, the adults only), breakfast buffet is a zoo and food is not worth the price (go off property), pool has about ten chairs in the sun and the other 80 are all in the shade.
Overall: would return but at the adults only property, no breakfast, and not for the pool

Room initially received stunk like cigarette smoke and hotel took its time to give us another room.

Lovely harbour view, great staff, clean rooms. Only negative was the corridors floors were never hoovered, always dirty
6.0
You couldn't sleep for kids running around late at night in the corridor and trying to get a sunbed was shocking. We felt some staff had too much to do and just couldn't be bothered if you needed help or not

I was given a room upgrade which had zero view, was beside a staff service area so I was woken early by staff with trolleys. The AC in the room didnt work very well and the room had a smell of smoke.

Not a great stay, slow check in on arrival. Concierge good and helpful.
The hotel stinks of this perfume throughout like a car air freshener, even in the rooms it’s really unpleasant.
Rooms ok, air conditioning is not that cold. The beds are comfy and rooms clean.
Family swimming pool was rather hideous although my kids liked it, it’s not very clear or clean, bits and lots of hair in the water as you swim, really cringey. The outdoor pool areas looked dirty, loads of discarded glasses and bottles under each sun lounger.
Barceló hotels so much better. Sadly wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

On our last day in Alicante our kids had a BIG wish. A hotel with a pool. As parents we build anticipation and they were really excited.
When we got to the pool it was closed due to a wedding.
The kids were very disappointed, cried and felt their day had be ruined.
Spotted many disappointed guests that also hadn’t been informed.
* In general the hotel and staff were nice. We wanted a hotel with a pool and didn’t get that so I won’t be choosing this hotel again as I can’t be guaranteed the pool will be open.

Wonderful stay for 5 nights visiting our daughter who was studying at the University of Alicante for the summer. Great location near the beach!

Fantastic location, comfortable room. Arrived at midday and they made a room available which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast buffet is worth the money with excellent variety. I'd recommend.

I booked a superior room with a sea view and we were given a standard room and no sea view. Our room had an old bath and shower over rather than a walk-in shower, very disappointing. On our last night we had to change rooms because we had water dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom!!! This issue happened at midnight and we eventually got to sleep at 2am. On checkout, the manager allowed us a few extra hours, no other compensation. Overall we were very unimpressed with Melia Alicante hotel.

Pool area was very cramped and some parts of the hotel were quite tired but overall a very positive experience.

Bed is ok, we paid for a room upgrade and were given a handicapped room with a very uncomfortable bathroom!
