This hotel is well located. We did the geothermal hiking trail and that was just accros the street from the hotel which was nice. The hotel is clean and a good choice for the price.

The bathroom smelled musty. Specifically like old and heavily used neoprene wetsuits. I found approximately 30 hairs that did not belong to me on the bathroom floor. When I went to use a tissue to collect them and throw them away, the tissue was filled with other filth and dust. The hallways were dated and dingy. From the photos, I thought this was a newer hotel, but it is not. Room finishings and carpet were tired. The uncleanliness of the bathroom mixed with the tiredness of the furnishings and hallways made me feel that everything was unclean. Bed was comfortable and buffet breakfast was good. Staff was nice. Unfortunately the uncleanliness of the bathroom could not be redeemed by any other hotel feature.

Great location and the bed was extremely comfortable, just have to get used to the smell from the sulfur of the Hot Springs.

Stay was ok. Room cleaning was not that great. No towels replaced, tea bags were not replaced, floor wasn't cleaned. Missing coffee cup. Always parking lot is full. Lots of travel buses comes. If you want to buy a breakfast buffet is $40 NZD. Quite damn expensive for me.

We had a deluxe room, so i can't speak for standard. But ours was fine, everything worked, nice bed, brekky good. the only thing is don't put "rydges" into your GPS, put the street address, as the GPS will take you to the old Rydges about a km away.

Friendly atmosphere and other guests. Different people and groups really brings life to property. Fridge did not close properly, did not keep things cold. Could be problem if a longer stay eg. food going off

Ran out of towels for the entire weekend - there was no reasoning behind it on Saturday other than ‘people are hoarding towels’ and they had to wait for house keeping to come in on Sunday to sort it - wasn’t sorted by checkout time at 11am. We had to reuse our wet towels from the pool and the kids were not happy about that.

I booked the room for my mum and dad. They enjoyed it. My dad had a bad hip and after booking the room I rang the receptionist and they had changed the room promptly to make it easy access for him on the ground floor. Thank you.

Black mould over towel rails, roof, floor. Broken shower rail fixtures. Shower head settings broken. Power fixture loose, narly came off when using. Photos supplied on the site are nothing like the room we booked. Overall we were very dissatisfied with our stay.

Worst hotel I have stayed at in the last 3 years and I stay in hotels most weeks for my job. The hotel itself was clean and quite large, the staff were fine but my room and it was a cheaper one was the worst I have stayed in in years, its was so old and out dated it was not funny, shower curtains were way to big for the the shower and who uses shower curtains these days also anyone over 6”2 would be hitting there head on the roof while standing in the shower. The toilet didn’t work properly and the sink tap wasn’t working properly either. There were only lamp lights in the room which made it quite dark to be in maybe trying to hide some out the 80s decor in the room. I think I have been in the side that kitchen was on as I could smell cooking smells coming to my room. I actually checked out early the next morning just to get out of this hole, I’ve stayed at Rydges before and they had be absolutely fine but this really is not up to the standard it should be so I’m not sure how it has a decent rating on here.

The property was good, a little bit untidy in general but the pool and kids centre was awesome. The room was a real disappointing. The bed in the room was the worst bed I’ve slept on in while. Me and my partner both struggled to stay asleep and gave us both a sore back. It was hard and could feel the springs of the bed. Could not get comfortable.

Best weekend away! Check in was super quick and easy. Room was clean and tidy, a little small but had everything we needed. Nice big shower and a selection of pillows (firm and soft). Our room had no robes so we asked for some on our way to the pool and when we got back to the room they had put some in our wardrobe. Pool was lovely and warm, we stayed 2 nights and swam every day. Little games room for the kids was so much fun on a rainy day and well stocked, our girl didn’t want to leave. We selected a pool view room which was great except the room wasn’t sound proof so we could hear everyone in the pool as soon as it opened and late until it closed, I wouldn’t stay in this room next time. Breakfast was great! Had everything we would want, a full cooked breakfast, pancakes, cereals, fruits, juices, chocolate covered croissants were delicious and fresh still warm. Free parking was abundant and free wifi. Casting to the TV so we used our own Netflix which was easy to connect to. Had the best birthday weekend here and will definitely be back!

Just don’t like the smelling which is from the geothermal resources, specially at the night time, can’t sleep very well. Except this one , everything is fine .
