The reception staff were very polite. It just seems to be stuck in the 1990s. The room was freezing. The heating didn’t work. The photographs did not represent the room at all. My room cost way over a hundred and less than one fifty pounds for two nights In Stoke. On a Tuesday. I realise that it’s not a huge amount of money. But, to be staying in what looked like a 1950s Communist Russia flat, compared to the two phones at the bottom - that are from the hotels website, is just not on.
The bed was ridiculously unforgiving.
I’m well aware of how much I paid and therefore it’s not going to be The Savoy, but don’t advertise it as a bright, sun dappled Disney paradise, when it’s not that at all.

We stayed for 2 nights, the staff were friendly and helpful, food was good, bar was ok. It’s an older style hotel that is clean and tidy

The hotel we felt was a bit tied. Had a problem with the heated towel rail which I made them aware of. Staff were ok and the parking was good. It was conveniently situated being in walking distant of the town.
2.0
It's a cool property, but poor staff communication. I paid for breakfast but was not told breakfast ends by 9am, unlike in other hotels where breakfast extends to 10am. I was also issued the wrong receipt from a rude receptionist.

Ok for a one night stay, and probably ok for the price. Good for builders etc. would I stay again only if it was the only thing available
2.0
The staff were all amazing! Full of local knowledge and really helpful.
My room wasn't one from the website, clean but basic. Nothing to complain about for sure.
Only tiny issue is the car parking. I had to park away from the hotel by day, and got the final space at night. Again - not a disaster.
Would for sure stay here again

Great for the price (£70 for the night). The wall's have absolutely no sound proof so can hear everything next door. The room itself is nice and spacious, with coffee etc. The cooked breakfast was a highlight and would give 5* for this. Was 9.50 a person and included tea/ coffee and orange and apple juice. Would fully recommend to anyone okay with being to hear the person next door

Very helpful and friendly receptipn staff. Room was nothing exceptional with fairly poor bathroom provisions, in particular no shower gel/shampoo.
Nothing outstanding, but nice people.

Good value traditional hotel..Good parking , sadly no time for Breakfast!

Had a great time at the hotel friendly staff comfortable bed, we had lunch before we went to the theatre. The breakfast was lovely as well you can have continental and full English.

My room was on the top floor, no lift, room was cold. My partner struggled to get into the shower as the doors didn’t give good access and the shower was raised about 1ft leaving it dangerous when stepping out, fear of slipping. Staff however helpful and friendly.

Friendly staff. Convenient for town centre.

Was given a room in the Anex across the car park . It was terrible, cold and dirty but I told the lady receptionist the next day and she was lovely. She moved us into the main hotel and gave us a lovely room which was clean and warm and the bed was comfy. Only complaint was thick dust in top of radiator.

Hotel was very tired looking. Parking was very difficult. It was noisy on the main Road and with the streetlights outside the room was never dark
4.0
It was quite and well connected to the under-lyne town centre. But around the area it was mainly all road there wasn't a nice place to have a walk. Appart from that all good.
3.0
Stayed in room 25, window would not close fully so noise from road outside affected noghts sleep. If it had been a cold night I suspect the room would have been cold.
Towel rail in bathroom was broken and cold.
Kettle was intermittant.
Breakfast was good and all staff I encountered were friendly.
Overall reasonable value gor money but more general maintenance would make it excellent.

Lovely old Coach house near the centre of Newcastle under Lyme

My room was close up to the room and the sounds from cars, ambulances and all meant my sleep was short. Wish there was a noise protector to help guest enjoy their stay

The accommodation is basic but great for exploring the area. The staff are excellent and really helpful. The restaurant is great and the food is excellent. We will return again if in the area. The hotel recommended going to the Wedgwood factory which was a full day visit and really enjoyable.

Staff were super nice and polite
The receptionists were exceptionally helpful, warm and nice people
Kitchen/restaurant service was good
2.0
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is very clean and the beds are comfortable. It is showing its age a little bit but that wouldn't stop me from staying here again. Breakfast is good value for money as well.
2.5
Tremendous value, I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality considering the budget price.
My only (very minor) criticism is that breakfast coffee was too weak.
1.5
Basic hotel at a reasonable price

Receptionist was absolutely lovely!
Room was very basic and not the freshest- stains on chair and duvet, bit dusty. Lack of shower gel, shampoo and hairdryer. Very dated and tiny telly. Not a. ideal room but fine to stay in for a night. Can forgive the lack of amenities because of how cheap it was. Overall, it was fine.
1.5
Good service, friendly restaurant staff but hotel in need of updating.
2.0
Basic hotel room for a one night stay that suited our purpose. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a good shower. Staff were all friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good and plentiful. There was also free parking which is always a plus
3.0
Absolutely fine for what I paid. Room basic but clean but no shampoo sachet was annoying!
4.0
Suited my needs fully, good value, would definitely stay again.
1.5
for a cheap nights stay its ok, the rooms are a bit dated and in need of redecorating and had no shower gel or shampoo and also had no facilities to make a hot drink

The hotel itself is an attractive building with friendly staff. The room and bathroom was a good size and it was nice to have the added bonus of a bath as well as a shower overhead. Unfortunately our stay was let down by the cleanliness of the room, it was clear that the room had not been hoovered. There were hairs in the bathroom and dirty tissues in one of the drawers. This really is a first in a room that should have been cleaned. We were only staying one night so I didn’t complain and cleaned up myself minus the tissues. We arrived in 30c heat and the sun was on our room, curtains open and windows closed. Due to this, it made the room uncomfortably hot so I would recommend that you request the windows be left open for your arrival. We stayed in room 2 and the road can get noisy too. Overall I would stay again but would have to insist that the room was cleaned properly.

Good value for money if you just need somewhere to stay for a short stay - excellent staff

Check in was fine, but I was placed across the car park into the annex building.
The room was clean but a little dated, also I had booked a double room but given a twin.
The walls in the annex building must be quite thin as the person next door kept me awake for an hour talking on the phone at two o’clock in the morning.
I won’t be staying here again.

Not far to walk into town. Not very scenic in immediate area.
Good size car park. Large bar area.
Bed comfy, pillows not so. Room very basic and a little unattractive.
Very good value for price paid.

Not great, had to change rooms due to the door lock not being secure. Room was also extremely depressing and dingy. We asked to be moved and we had to pay to do so! New room was better as the door was secure however it was also dingy and old. Needs a total revamp. Hotel is stuck in the early 80's. Rusty shower rail, no back on remote. Basic. However, it was clean and the bed was comfortable.
2.0
Friendly staff. Room is clean
1.5
Reasonable hotel . Getting quite tired now. Baths / showers often grubby,
No TV working on my last stay
Good value for money
2.0
Service was good, breakfast freshly cooked and nice. Parking was tight. Decor in bathroom needed a freshen up. Despite turning radiator off it remained fully on, room consequently was too hot.
Location for visiting Keele University was ideal
