the experience was not at all pleasant. we did not received the room we booked for. we were charged for extra bed. the room was not very clean.

Hotel was good. Nice breakfast. It is very close to the train station which added 10-15 minutes to every trip just trying to get around the traffic. That's the only reason I might not stay again since it was a significant obstacle. I was also unclear which rooms had balconies and which didn't I stayed in two different rooms that were booked the same. One had a balcony and the other didn't.

This was my first trip to New Delhi, and staying at Hotel Ajanta was definitely the way to go. The hotel and the room were beautiful, near Old Delhi. The front desk gave me good advice about where to get things I forgot to pack. They had a travel service in the lobby that connected me to a driver who took me on the best tour of Delhi. They also recommended we visit the Taj Mahal, which wasn't in our plan, but ended up being one of my most favorite things in India. And the driver left early with us so we could see it in the morning ligt. I felt safe and cared for in a new city and country! Our driver also took us back and forth to the airport a few times, greeting us with marigold malas and water. The hotel's restaurant, Café Vagabond by Saffron, was delicious. I would recommend staying here again!

Pleasant stay, airport pickup provided, polite staff.

I stay in this regularly since 2001 and always come back to it because the location is good, Connaught Place area, Janpath, New Delhi railway station are all reachable by foot, not so far from Old Delhi as well. Lots of Streetfood options nearby. They offer airport pick up and it always went properly.
Buffet breakfast also very good for the price with a good choice of Indian options.
Laundry service perfect and the rooms I had were big and comfortable although I was a bit disappointed of the suite room because the shower was not so good and water wasn't hot. The superior room was better, at least I think it was the superior room.
Staff friendly and always helping

From the first moment we arrived until we said good-bye. All of the staff was very accommodating, we checked in early and had breakfast early on our last day because we were leaving before breakfast started. Some people said it was not in the best area of Delhi, but that was part of the experience.

The hotel room were tacky for a 3 star.
No amenities were there as mentioned in the room details of my booking.
1. No windows in room
2. Towels and bedsheet were yellowish white in color, too old
3. I booked a double bed, they provided me with a twin bed
4. Had to ask for toiletries. They didnt already put the hand soap
5. Receptionist had a rude tone
Only good thing at the hotel was their breakfast

I would like to leave a testimonial about the place. This hotel almost ruined my trip to India. Leaving Brazil, on the other side of the world, I had the displeasure of having my pet watch and money stolen inside the room where I stayed. The employees just said that my watch was not found. I didn't go to the police because it would just give me a headache, take a few days out and I honestly don't think it would do anything. I simply do not recommend any tourist to stay there. "God has much more to give me than the devil to take". Here's the tip: Don't stay in this filthy and mobster place.

Front desk people are excellent as they have taken care in providing best of the best service and making our trip very memorable. Property is excellent and the food is also very delicious.

The staff were quite helpful, but they kept doing construction during the day. It shouldn't be the case that i have to call to ask them to be quiet .
Otherwise thouth, things were fine.

I did not know about the area Pahar Ganj but I was not happy with the area and location of the hotel. It was also a bit annoying that the picture on Hotels.com was of another hotel a few doors down the road. I was promised an Executive Room with balcony but never saw the balcony. The room cleaning service was only carried out if you dropped your room key at the reception in the morning! This is not what I expected. The breakfast area spills out into the reception area and was very disappointing in terms of quality of food, seating area and cleanliness. I had to share a table with other guests!

We'd stay here again

On arrival at midnight, we were shown to a room with no towels, toilet paper, top sheets for the bed so had to ask for all of this. When sheets arrived they were muddy and blood stained, once we had clean sheets we had to make our own beds. The room had an internal window onto the corridor and a grate above it open into the corridor so very noisy and zero privacy. Hot water didn’t work, we got it fixed on day 2 (took an hour) on day 3 no hot water again. Safe did not work. Hassled by staff for tips for rectifying problems. We had booked a deluxe queen room with daily housekeeping, housekeeping did not come unless you hand in your key (we were not told this) and we were given a small twin room. Booked airport transfer at reception and clarified this many times, this did not show up as the staff never actually booked the car so we were late to the airport. On the last day we ate all 3 meals at the hotel and my partner had severe food poisoning for 5 days from eating dinner at the hotel restaurant (minced kebab). This ruined not only our time in Delhi but also our next week in Nepal. The tour agent in the hotel very friendly and helpful as was the restaurant manager. The driver that took us around Delhi for 2 days (arranged by the hotel) was great.

Great location and the staff was very responsive and helpful. The rooms are all different so we looked at a couple and had two fabulous comfortable rooms as we stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to India. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

It’s close to everything, great restaurant next door.

Location is very noisey and one of the most busy and narrow tourist hotel streets in Delhi, its hard to walk around here without getting clipped by a car or moto. Hot water was good. I paid for an AC room, but non of the AC in the entire hotel worked due to some strange excuse management gave me..Mildew and dirt on bathroom ceiling, needs to be deep cleaned. Breakfast was good, but again, more attention to cleanliness needed when so many people are using buffet utensils. Overal its ok for a short stay in Delhi. Bring earplugs.

Hotel Ajanta is like my home away from home while in Delhi.....always attentive to my needs and wants and it is so central to everything....love it!!!
3.4
We stay at Hotel Ajanta nearly 4 times a year. This is because of location, restaurant staff and food, other staff, rooms are clean and efforts made to appoint them well. Big reason is due to Gunjan, who manages with awareness and cordiality.
3.4
A value for money experience... overall service was very good. A very accommodating staff who tried to ensure we were satisfied... thank you especially to Abhay.

Needs better maintenance. Shower cubicle does not have food or shower curtain so the whole bathroom gets flooded after a shower. Fixtures are old and need to be replaced. Rather congested area. Lots of eateries around. Rly station is ver close. A big plus point is their airport pick up service which is free except a fee for parking charges. There is a in house restaurant which we did not try. OK as a transit hotel.
