It was a good, inexpensive to stay in a convenient location in Prague. I think the classic building is a good reminder, not a drawback. I think minor repairs and improvements are needed. Inadequate heating (perhaps the air conditioning cannot be changed from cooler). Breakfast operation. The noise of the water that never stops. A refrigerator would be nice if possible. The fact that there is enough mineral water and tea is desirable. No major complaints and would stay again.

Good location, many restaurants/pubs and supermakets close to the hotel. Friendly and helpfull straff. Close to public transportations metro and tram. 10 minutes walk to the biggest shopping street and 20-25 walk to old town square and charles bridge. Many winebars in the area wich are definatly worth to try!

The rooms were dirty, marks over everything and quite a bit of mould in the shower. The wifi was poor so you could barely connect in your room and there was no point using the TV. There was no air conditioning despite the fact it was very hot. The location is convenient in terms of the tram stops but there is a market outside that starts at about 5am so between that and the trams, its very noisy. Breakfast was ok, nothing special, no meat or anything and very limited fruit. Wouldnt stay there again or recommend to anyone to be honest

Wonderful staff, even making me a cup of tea at 3am while I was in the sitting area using wifi. Overall, great. I would go there again happily.

Big rooms , clean, and centrally located near Pavlova metro. Breakfast good choice.

The property was located in a very good area where we had access to everything we would need. Plus it was quiet even in an area of 24 hour open locations.

Pleasantly surprised. I had low expectations from Hotel Tyl based on a series of recent negative Google reviews, which were proved wrong - at least from my perspective. The hotel was well-located in Prague's New Town, but near enough a 10-minute walk from the National Museum (and Metro Station) and Wenceslaus Square (Centre) and a 20-minute walk from the Old Town. Tramlines were location within 100 metres. The hotel and rooms are a little dated, but perfectly reasonable condition and comfortable enough. I have marked the hotel down because I especially booked a double room, but received a twin room with two single beds pushed together, which wasn't comfortable. I also must mark down the hotel for poor communication - I tried several times to phone and email the hotel before my stay - the phone lines only ever went to a voicemail (with the most annoying hold messages I ever remember hearing). I eventually received a response confirming my reservation but only after I had already checked-in. Breakfast was good, and actually better than most other places I stayed at on this trip - the breakfast area in the basement was actually quite nice. The common areas and lobby downstairs was a nice bonus, and I must also thank Ari the receptionist for being so helpful and friendly. Finally the hotel was good value for money, and I would be happy to stay there on a future trip.

Terrible. It started when we found at the place that the hotel did not have parking. Paid parking on the street (we actually had to take the car quite far away to a paid parking lot, because there were no free spots) is NOT parking! Next, I booked a room with a double bed and bathtub. Of course it didn't had either. When I objected, they gave another room with a tub, but to my surprise, they said they had NO double beds. What?! The room had two single, cheap, very bad quality bunk beds that were pushed together. They didn't even bother to fix the mat. When we tried to use it as a double bed, the mats just simply slid apart and onto the floor. Oh and the heating was not working. I feel cheated, it kind of ruined our holiday.

The hotel was ok but the problem is they have no air conditioning and the room was hot. They have a fan. I will book this hotel again but not summer so hot. Winter maybe the best time.

The staff were super friendly, the hotel was nice and the location was amazing in Prague 2. The breakfast was not great but not bad. The room was comfortable and clean, but the curtains blocked the light only partially, so there was a lot of light early in the morning.

This hotel exudes an old world charm
It does convey a sense of a faded yester year but our room was well appointed and spacious with a separate mini hall from which to access the bath room. The bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is standard fare but more than adequate. We highly recommend this hotel for comfort and v good value for monet.

Older hotel with low water pressure. The staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as good as others have been.

The reception staff were very helpful especially Michel who organised rooms to be ready early so we could smoothly transfer rooms after our extra night stay .He also recommended local restaurants to enjoy Czech food.
The buffet breakfast was extensive.
Hotel Tyl is ideally situated for the number 22 Tram which goes to all the major tourist sights.

Great little hotel in a prime location. Tram and metro station on the doorstep of the hotel as well as major food outlets less than 1 min walk away. Hotel itself was nice. Staff on reception very helpful and friendly. Rooms were of a very good size compared to some uk hotels and cleaned daily if needed. On the other hand there a few bits that werent so great. Breakfast staff couldnt speak english and just pointed as in to go ask someone else which i found rude but also when they cleaned tables and working the kitchen all you could hear was banging of cutlery and plates which could be improved. The only thing i wish the hotel could change was after 12am the front doors are locked which is fine. However when i came back from nights out after 3am to get back in you have to press a buzzer/alarm for the night receptionist to let you back in. They clearly sleep but i felt so bad having to come back so late having to wake them up. As i also went to go out to get food but again they have to wake up to let you out and back in again. lf they could get key entry back into the hotel that would be great! But overall i would happily stay again if the 2 changes above were put into action.

Pretty much right next to a subway station. Room was bigger than I thought and the tub is nice to have. Full continental breakfast buffet. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel condition is reasonably aged. My room had a strong smell when I first got there, but could be from the previous guests.

The property is very close to all tourist attractions. Walk to Wenceslas 7 minutes, Walk to Charles Bridge 30 minutes, walk to old Town Square from Wenceslas 5 minutes

Hotel is a bit shabby, towels had holes in them one day, and the breakfast room is dismal. But the rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, staff friendly and we thought location was excellent
