Eaten here before and staying for 1st time. Clean warm well decorated and appointed room. Greatly enjoyed a good nights sleep
Bathroom was skightiy tired and the pub would do well to give notice that no bathroom products are supplied

We found The Swan at Hanley extremely nice, a very lovely character pub with a good warm atmosphere. We had eaten there before so knew what to expect, but this was the first time we had stayed overnight, and will certainty stay again.. it is very clean and comfortable.

Food quite overpriced for what it is. Easy to find and clean. Dog friendly but they don't provide any dog amenities like a bowl or bed etc. The bed was rather uncomfortable and extremely squeaky, to the point of you rolled over or even slightly moved it squeaked and made a lot of noise which lead to a rather poor night's sleep. Wouldn't say it's worth the pricetag - if it was a cheap £50 room it wouldn't be so bad. But definitely not somewhere we would stay again

Very nice accommodation, lovely staff and excellent breakfast

Lovely stay for a solo traveller in great surroundings

A very nicely presented pub with lots of character. Very clean room and pub area. Busy with people enjoying good food and company. We stayed in a small room and we were delighted with the comfort of the mattress. We are not very tall so it suited us well!
Excellent breakfast and good service all round!

Great single night stay at The Swan Inn. Check-in nice and easy, especially as I turned up a bit early. Room spotless. Single bed, and a bit softer than my usual bigger firmer bed but perfectly acceptable. Free Wifi was essential as mobile signal was virtually non existent and without it could not even make a phone call. Included breakfast was very good from stated locally sourced items

Overall, really lovely stay! Staff could be more welcoming.

Lovely venue in a picturesque village. Comprehensive menu and well stocked bar. Beds very comfortable

We had an excellent stay. The girls working there when we arrived late were brilliant. They made us some sandwiches even though the restaurant had closed and nothing was too much trouble. Best service we have had in a long time.
4.5
Lovely village location. The pub is really nice with a great menu. The room was a nice size and very quiet. The bed was extremely firm. We like a firm bed but even this was a little much for us. Fine for one night, but not for a long stay. There were no USB chargers in the room or toiletries, so make sure you bring your own. Breakfast was amazing.

The room was nice & clean. The heating worked well but we turned it off, a shame their was no blind at the window, woke the dogs up early because of the light. Needed a bigger window to let more light in during the day. Needed to take a mortgage out for the restaurant because meals where quite pricey!

Have stayed at Swan Inn before and is always good serviceThe room is nice but very dull lighting in fact one bedside light not working but they had no replacement in stock. Restaurant excellent!

Excellent pub and staff food good but expensive if on a low budget

Great 2 night stay. Very attentive staff. Breakfasts were superb and the evening meal was great and very reasonably priced. Great selection of beer and wine.
4.5
Staff and cleanliness was good however, there was a generator vibration through the room until 10.30pm which didn’t allow for an early nights sleep. When I telephoned reception Staff offered to change my room but I had unpacked and was in bed. The room also smelt of cooking. Surely they can soundproof the room. Thank you

comfortable bedroom, excellent dinner, friendly staff; lighting in the bedroom is poor, otherwise all very satisfactory.

We were allocated Gooseberry room, which whilst bigger, suffered from a constant low level humming noise all night. This was in addition to kitchen noise mentioned, which fell silent at around 10pm. At 2am the fire alarm went off, which we were later told was a fault in the process of being fixed.
4.5
Great restaurant, bar and room. Only let down was a bathroom which needed updating and a shower which had no pressure.

Brilliant location in a quaint village. Gorgeous pub with friendly and efficient stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, particularly the breakfast!
4.5
Pleasant country pub with a lovely outdoor seating area. Food and service were good,. Stayed in the "Gooseberry" bedroom which was clean and comfortable. The only issue was the kitchen extractor fan which created quite a loud hum in the room until it was switched off in the evening

Good food. Nice facilities, but very poor showers in bedrooms.

Beautiful pub in pretty location.
Best pub garden ever

We arrived on what was clearly an unexpectedly busy sunny evening and the staff were at full stretch. However they turned the whole evening around, remained fully focused, polite and managed people's expectations and we told them that they had done a great job. The photos of the outside don't do the place justice, they've done a huge amount more work and it's a very inviting place to sit in the sunshine. We would highly recommend this and would come back should we find ourselves in the area. Top marks to the owners and staff.

Nice cosy pub with great food and garden

Well presented hotel. Lovely helpful and polite staff. Enjoyed my evening meal of Hake followed by local ice cream.
Stayed in the Plum room. The bed is almost as big as the room. However, the bed was really comfortable. I don't say that about many hotels I stay in, so well done to the hotel team, for seeing this as important to guests.
I will certainly return here with my wife in the future.

What a lovely pub! We stayed here over the Easter weekend as we were attending a wedding in a near by village. Staff were brilliant , food excellent and our room had everything we needed .The pub has one of the best outside spaces we've seen with lovely sofas and tables and it overlooks the village green and duck pond. A fabulous find and we will definetely return.

Overall a lovely setting for a traditional pub with a modern twist. Bar and restaurant with garden areas give a great atmosphere. The bedrooms are ok, odd that there are no toiletries in the bathroom only one liquid soap. Avoid Goosberry Room as this sits over the kitchen ventilation fans and the constant humming is a bloody nuisance

Superb food, good service. All amenities needed in the cosy room.

The room was basic but had everything you would need, TV, kettle, ensuite bathroom, comfy bed. The bed was a bit big for the room but for 1 night was fine. There was no soap in the bathroom which was strange, but I had a goos nights sleep and the breakfast was very very good 9/10. For the price this place is excellent value and if in the area I will stay again and try and have dinner which looked very good.

A welcoming gastro pub with rooms in an attractive village setting.
The bedrooms are attractive, spotlessly clean, and have all necessary amenities. They are however on the small size (we stayed in “Plum”) and the subdued lighting makes reading difficult and better lighting would have been appreciated.
Dining however is what the Swan is all about and the really attractive bar and dining areas (again with subdued lighting which here add to the atmosphere) are perfect for enjoying the beautifully presented interesting menus, whether that be for breakfast lunch or dinner. Service could perhaps be a little quicker although a large party of wedding guests enjoying a reception on one evening partly explained that.
Free on site parking and delightful outside areas for the summer are an added bonus.
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay

The concept of the whole property is extremely pleasant & the sympathetic extension & 'al fresco' area in the style of the original building is exceptional. Only reservation is the low level of lighting in the bedroom . Incredibly dog-friendly is a big plus.
