Located on the central Piazza the hotel was very convenient to the church and many fine restaurants. The hotel restaurant for breakfast offered a breathtaking view of the town and surrounding Tuscan countryside. The food was fresh, and included a large assortment of breakfast cakes and pies, cheeses, meats, and fantastic espresso and capuchino. Our room had large windows opening up to an amazing view of San Gimignano.

I recommend this hotel for a stay in San Gimanigno. The location is perfect and the hotel staff was very helpful. The facility was extremely comfortable. We parked in parking lot too and easily walked to the parking lot from the hotel entrance.

Old hotel in an old mountain top town. Given the limitations of this environment the Cisterna is a great little hotel that met all of our needs .The Cisterna is located in Cisterna Square in town close to sights, dining and a valley view walkway. The views to the valley from the rooms is amazing. The rooms are a good size and are modernized and comfortable. The staff is great (friendly and helpful). Many choices for dining close by (in the square) but others will require some minor hills and steps to get to. The morning breakfast is adequate (continental) with cappuccino/expresso included). The hotel is within the city walls so you have to park in a lot outside the walls and walk in (hills) or the hotel can shuttle you to and from parking lot for a fee. San Gimignano is very busy during the day with tour buses etc. highly suggest an overnight stay to get the full experience and Cisterna is the perfect choice of hotel to soak in the history/ambiance of San Gimignano. Highly recommend.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I will definitely come back again in future. The location, views, well fitted-out bedrooms and bathrooms and powerful air conditioning units meant a comfortable and pleasant experience. I lay in bed just looking at the hand painted ceiling in the morning. It was a great experience and I had to have one of those moments where you say goodbye to the room before checking out.

The balcony was lovely and the view was spectacular. It was enjoyed by myself and two other members of my travelling party in the evening. Breakfast was a delight and the recommendations for dinners were excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful arranging a taxi to and from a wine tasting experience.

Many people only visit San Gimignano for an afternoon, but it is worth staying there for a few days to really explore. La Cisterna is right in the middle of everything - the perfect location. Get a valley view room and wake up feeling like you are in a dream! The bed is comfortable and the toiletries smell amazing. The front desk staff is very helpful and can answer any question you have. I had a wonderful time there and can’t wait to return.

Hotel located in the town of Sam Gimignano. You can not have a better location to all shops, restaurants, and activities. You are on the top of the hill with awesome views of the surrounding area. The service and accommodations are exceptional.

Loved this little hotel in San Gimignano!! Right in the historical town centre! An exciting drive into the village central to offload the luggage! bit off a hike from the public parking after though. Such a gorgeous view from our balcony overlooking the stunning Tuscan hillside!! Very very clean!! Very very comfortable!! Very very convenient!! The staff were very friendly, and very helpful!! Will highly recommend and stay again!!!

Wonderful location of the property. The room was clean and well cared for with daily cleaning and towels provided. The rooms weren’t the most quiet perhaps because we were on the bottom floor. We would often hear the rooms beside us. The rooms are a little out dated as well. Apart from that beautiful property and location. Would have been nice to have access to an outdoor garden. Great staff very helpful. Would definitely recommend!
