I don't know if the hostel has karaoke facilities or if they were singing in another room, but the soundproofing was poor and I slept late.
3.0
It was clean enough for Backpackers, and staff were kind.
But there were many things in the fridge. So I couldn’t use it. And because of the neighbors (bar or restaurants), it was noisy until midnight. So I won’t recommend if you are sensitive to noise.
Anyway It was good for me.

I like the way they treat their costumers

Our double room was very cold. When the heat pump was on it was very noisy so it was easier to sleep with it off

Excessive noise leading into the early hours of the morning on a wednesday night no attempts were made by staff to quiet and this disruptive group at 4 o'clock in the morning. not an hour of sleep for me😟

The stay was amazing and exceeded expectations.
Location is perfect and the convenience of the luggage store was well appreciated.
Would recommend to others.

Very loud DJ Music from the bar near my room, can't sleep on Friday and Saturday!!

I was impressed with how clean quiet and high tech this hostel was. I was even able to rent a towel and do many things from the app they use for all guests. It is right in the middle of everything. Great location. Staffed 24/7 made me feel safer than the ones who don't have someone watching the door at night. Would love to return to this one someday!

For a backpacker hotel, it was brilliant . I had one night during NY , so this was all I could get. I asked for a Female only room and they catered for this perfectly. Secure, Private and with its own bathroom. It was a few days after NY, so it was VERY NOISY at night, but what can you expect ..it right in the heart of Queenstown

Very loud at night cannot sleep w bars parties. Price you pay for location. They do mention that it gets loud, so no surprises, but it is extremely loud and until early hours in the morning.

I don't enjoy staying in Queenstown because everything is so expensive, but the en-suite rooms at Nomad's Backpackers are a reasonable price for the area, and provide you with your own private bath, a balcony, and a mini-fridge. What they don't provide you though is hand towels, soap, or shampoo ... There is a soap dispenser, but we stayed in two different rooms a week apart, and neither of the dispensers had any soap. So bring your own.

Jared at the front desk is awesome. I only wish that there was a hallway light into my room.
I booked a double, thinking that I had full bath access. The baths are shared.
I love that they offer cooking class as well as you get a free dinner. I'm not sure when they cook for the free dinner but when I checked in I was told that there was going to be complementary Indian food in the kitchen if I wanted some. The theme does change.
You use an app to unlock your door. Unfortunately the app keeps messing up and for some reason it takes about 15 tries for my door to open
There is a sona, it is usually occupied and I think it only seats two people. When I went up it was occupied by two gentlemen, so it was a tight fit for two people.
There is also a backyard terrace.
Parking can be a little tricky. I parked on the street in front of the hostel, and got lucky both times.
They have some pretty cool stickers I purchase.
Super convenient location to downtown Queenstown. Literally a 6 minute walk

Had a box room (no window) If you stay get a balcony room. Place looks well used , bit run down and tired. Otherwise OK

It's a hostel
Friendly staff
Decent enough rooms, bed and common areas.
Central location = everything good and bad that entails. Close to bars, restaurants and clubs. You won't sleep before 2am, but if you're out, who cares?
Just know what you're getting

Walking distance to everything in Queenstown, huge kitchen and great entertainment area with a fireplace, couches, and a pool table. Water pressure in the showers was great and instantly hot water. Staff were lovely and always at the desk. Will be staying again!

Very central location to all the attractions.

Good: location, right near the lake and many dining options.
Bad: depending on room you get very noisy music for half the night making it near impossible to sleep. In my room the fridge was also so frozen up that the door wouldnt close. Couldn’t open room curtains as it was directly opposite an office window and if you opened the window you are staring straight at officeworkers about 3 metres away

The location is great. A good backpackers environment.

Thank goodness I was only staying for 3 nights. I understand it’s a hostel, but it’s impossible to sleep. For 3 nights in a row, either the hostel itself or a bar right next door was blasting music until 3 AM in the morning; I literally laid in bed from 10 PM to 2 AM one night trying to fall asleep. Need to soundproof the doors more/be more considerate of guests who aren’t staying in Queenstown just to drink and party. If I came to Queenstown again, I’d rather pay 3x the amount and get a hotel. Room itself was ok. Shower door doesn’t seal, so it constantly flooded the bathroom and left a mildew smell.

Was just like a hotel as we had a private room, only downside is there is a nightclub round the corner which goes till 4am but was such a nice stay

Very convenient to shopping and dinning, but very noisy at night due to many beer houses and night clubs near by the building, there is one just at the ground floor of the building.

I understand that Queenstown is expensive, but for a small ensuite room with no external windows and an air-conditioner that not only didn't work but sounded like an aircraft was flying over the room, the value was terrible. The location however was great.

Everything was as to be expected from a backpacker but they put me in a room right next to a bar that didnt close till 3am... Then a person in my room got up at 5am. I had to wake up at 6 am. No sleep!

The Surrounding Scenery

i didnt like that fact that the first room we were booked into had someone else in it.
i didnt like that the second room we were booked into had a continual bathroom exhaust fan running. And any room change from there would be a downgraded room.

Super cool place in the central of the town
High tech to me using APP as key, so just run away for check out care free,
but if you forgot your phone then HOOPS
Staffs are very nice
Just one bad thing is the bar just right down and music on loud until 3am, but thats how you get the nights

A good place to stay, brilliant location, good price. I couldn't get the heating to work the first night and was cold! They control it centrally.

The location is fabulous. Shirt walk to the lake and in the heart of Queenstown shopping and dining.

Upon arriving the lobby area looks quite inviting. It has couches to relax while you wait to check-in. Like every accomodation there are good things, and things that can be improved on. Free complimentary wi-fi was a very useful incentive, as was the nice interiors and room, and it was always warm inside. However, the things I'd critique would be that the pillows were too thin, there was no powerpoints near the beds in the shared 8 person dorms, and the towel surcharge.Other than that, it was affordable and serves a purpose for a short stay. The location is perfect and I wouldn't rule out staying in the future. Thanks guys!
