This was one of the best experiences I have had with Hotels.com. Absolutely amazing from the moment I got to the property, to the minute I left. The beach was right at the foot of the property, the pool was awesome, the staff remembered my name, and Miki, the front desk hostess even lent me her phone charger. Dinner was great, rooms had amazing views. Absolutely worth the adventure.

Don't stay here. It is dirty, falling apart, with rude dismissive staff. It took me an hour and a half to get a clean room. Then I had to go down and get my own towels. Dining serious was very slow and poor. There was wild dogs running around the grounds at night, and the walk up to the buras is very steep. No safe or phones where provided in the suite. Pay alittle more and find a better safe and up to date hotel.

From the moment we checked in, everything was terrible. Except for the view. Staffs need proper training. Food is horrible. If anyone wants to lose weight, then they can stay for a week. Im glad we booked for one day. Never going back again. The staffs dont know their job. All they good at is saying bula and sorry sir. Their famous words. Worse thing is that the service was even worse with the director being present.

This hotel is on step from being closed. It has a weird vibe , no atmosphere and poor dining options.

The resort was excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The only problem was that the entryway to the hotel was not very nice. It was a long narrow dirt road and was unpleasant for driving.

Nice quiet place to stay.

The staff were amazing, always interacting with the guests. The food could be better. Beautiful location however can be difficult getting to places as a single traveler if you don’t have your own car.
6.0 / 10.0
There is a 3km gravel road to the resort which is very unsafe. Most of it are one way. Drivers have to be extra careful. Price of food is very expensive and there are no shops or restaurants nearby

There is so much to like about Crusoe's.
Beautiful setting, (far) way from main road.
No traffic noise. A $6 school bus to Sigatoka if you want a day out. Another resort you can walk to (over the beach) if you want a more flavoursome cuisine, or a quieter nighttime vibe.
Fantastic sea views from all bure. Snorkeling right outside the resort. Most of all, very relaxed, warmhearted, hospitable staff.
If you are an introvert or you value silence, just be aware that at times the sounds of music and nighttime dining room activities penetrate all over the resort.
But for more socially inclined people, and for families...brilliant.

Pros:
- comfortable beds and pillows
- beautiful gardens
- quiet, peaceful and relaxing
- the staff were fantastic and made our stay positive
- huge shower and piping hot water
- wonderful views over the sea
- a smaller resort so it had a personal, friendly feel about it
- the facial we had was great, and left our skin glowing
Cons:
- the food was expensive and mediocre, and limited choice and variety
- the prices for dinner were almost double the lunch prices so we didn’t eat dinner because of that
- because of how remote the resort is, you have no other options for food if you don’t have a car
- the room we stayed in was comfortable, but a bit run down and could do with some maintenance
- the prices for activities, taxi and massages were more expensive than the other resort we stayed at

Amazing stay. The place is beautiful and quiet. Such an amazing part of the world.
It is secluded but it adds to the charm.
I did not want a big resort and Crusoe’s retreat and spa was exactly what I wanted.
The daily activities were excellent and changed every day. Some activities are payable (btw 25 to 80$) and many are free (guided bush walk, visiting the next town, volley ball tournament, coconut toffee making… etc)
The food was good especially the Ika Vololo or Ika Kokoda (it was soooo delicious) and more.
Breakfast was pretty basic continental with fresh local fruit- or you can ask for eggs and other hot breakfast on the menu.
They have good price lunch starting at F$22 /A$15 and go to F$30/35 for specials
Diner starts at F$19 and can go to F$48 (still very good price in Aus$)
The menu and cocktails menu was very large and delicious. It was missing one thing Banana or Pinapple fritters 😩
The Bure was spacious and you have a fridge and coffee/tea in the room (no boiler tho)
The room is cleaned every day and the staff is very nice. Soaps and toiletries available. No hair dryer - but was not a problem for me.
The room I was in, needs a bit of love but was comfortable. And beautiful view.
The spa was amazing. And very affordable
The spa staff is soo lovely.
Everything was good and I had a lovely time

This hotel is suitable as an average option for staying in Fiji if you don’t want to leave your accomodation. The hotel is far from everything, and you will need to drive 3 hours from the airport to get there. The road is not accessible by foot and there are no attractions, shopping or dining nearby. The free breakfast included is very limited (fruit and coffee and toast basically) and if you eat at the hotel you will be limited to their short meal hours from a very restricted overpriced menu with small portions. The facilities of the hotel are nice and the staff are for the most part friendly but they are at times quite slow to help you. Be aware you will be sharing your room with bugs due to the location, it’s not a huge deal but something to consider if you don’t like nature. The village nearby the hotel is beautiful and visiting it is the nicest part of what the hotel has to offer.

The view has certainly got the wow factor, we booked 5 nights in the deluxe beach bure which was a few seconds walk to the beach. However our room was not made up upon arrival at 9pm. The outdoor shower was lovely and we slept very well, super comfortable, huge bed! We liked the outdoor bed and hammock, room service every day. The food was very delicious, although a little more could have been offered on the menu. Breakfast was included, which was basic but did the job, we loved the bananas and papaya. They could do with buying a second toaster, as big groups stay here. Our only disappointment with the food was the $60 buffet offered on our third night, with no other options on the menu, this was unexpected and expensive! Free snorkel and kayak hire, The wifi was a little patchy but okay. The staff were super friendly, putting on activities each day. It is a remote resort, we had a car and left the resort once, the road is unsealed but accessible in a Toyota corola. Perfect secluded getaway, which is exactly what we wanted, we would go back!

The staff are amazing and so helpful. Millie, Mika, Henry and JJ all made our stay so much better. It’s in between owners so understand no money has been spent for a while. Need to upgrade the Snorkling gear and reef shoes. The biggest disappointment was the food. I get you have little choice as you are at the resort but I found the prices and lack of variety on the menu a real disappointment. We asked for a chicken fried rice that was not on the menu and the chef obliged and was great when it came out but to come back the following night and see it as a special of the day but price went up $10 overnight is a bit rich. It’s a fairway to find dining options here and if you don’t have a hire car you are stuck.

Road in is not in good condition, seemed like a farm track. So be prepared for that, trust your nose and keep going. Resort is older and dated in places, but clean and staff very helpful and friendly.
Nice to have a beach to swim in and a pool as well

This is a lovely retreat space, a bit off the beaten track. It needs a little upkeep as it is quite old now. But the Fijian staff are wonderful and as it is right next to a fijian village you get to meet many of the villagers who work at the resort. One of the highlights is the coral reef out front. Take a boat out and go snorkelling out on the breakers. You will love it. The ground are well kept and beautiful.

Staff are wonderful, Rooms Excellent, Activities Perfect thanks to the marvellous Inia. Food is delicious, Fahim is a fantastic chef. Mia, Samantha & Siteri in F&B very friendly and professional. Kelera the Front Office Manager is delightful.

This is a peaceful, quiet and beautiful location, perfect for a restful break. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
I received a free upgrade to a beautiful beachfront room. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in.
Meals are modest and a little pricey as you would expect for a captive audience. Transport is difficult and I will hire a car next time.
I would recommend this resort.

A bit isolated like all coral coast accommodation and expensive food but very welcoming

Awesome and a very simple place to stay in. I admired the location and its quietness.

Stayed previously. Only negative was termite dust or waste falling from ceiling and got charged one extra day of stay from a week prior to my arrival. Couldn’t credit my credit card but applied credit towards future stay. Hope it is honored.

I hadn’t been to Fiji for 24 years so wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but I’m so glad I chose Crusoe's Retreat. Incredibly beautiful location with wonderful staff. Loved my room with its amazing view. The resort is right next door to a village so you get to interact with everyone. Fiji can be as active or as relaxing you want it to be but everything at Crusoes forces you to slow down and relax. I loved every moment. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Make sure you take some cash though in case you want to buy something in the village as it’s an hour to the nearest town with an ATM.

Very peaceful and tranquil, very old property that has been well maintained/upgraded through the years. Not many menu choices for 3 or more days. Extra cost for breakfast items not on buffet line (toast, cereal, fruit). 30 kilometers to ATM's other food/grocery. Only a hot water maker in cabin (Acceptable as there could be major bug issue with cooking/food in cabins). 3 kilometers off main road on occasional steep/blind 1-lane road. Challenging for firsttime island visitor. Staff absolutely great. A very delightful stay otherwise.

All five of us absolutely loved the location, very beautiful. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The kitchen department on the other hand needs a major haul. For the 2 nights spent at this resort there was not a single meal that we enjoyed. Barely made it half way through a meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Somehow the second night dinner was worse than the first. The chef needs to go back to school or change profession. Speaking to the manager about the quality of food didn't help in any way, no idea how to deal with the situation. Definitely first and last trip to this beautiful location.
2.0 / 10.0
Firstly, pick up from the road was an hour late. Then room wasn't ready when we arrived there. No towels in the room and bed sheet was dirty. No upgrade has been since we last visited 20 years ago. Toilet doors don’t have a lock. Ant and insect problem in the room. The sheets are re-used which is very old or torn. Not enough towels. With no vacancy at the venue, there was only one kayak to share and they ran out of snorkeling gears. Food per meal is quite expensive and you don’t have much choice as the nearest town is about 30 mins away.
Not worth the money we spent
The only positive thing is the staff have been amazing.
I don’t think I will ever go back again at this venue.

Crusoe's Retreat is a 2-hour drive from Nadi Airport with shuttle options available. The resort had a fantastic common space, free wifi, free breakfast, pool, hot tub, pool towels, kayaks, and snorkeling, in addition to daily activities that provide an immersive experience into Fijian culture. The resort is one of the oldest so could use some updates to some of the infrastrucure such as loose deck boards around the pool, and not all rooms have air conditioning, but it's the staff and the experiences that really make the stay worthwhile. The friendly staff were kind and caring and treat guests like family. The food was worthy of a 5 star restaurant.

Lovely and unspoiled. It was very quiet but it was great to disconnect from technology and just snorkle, relax and hang with my kids. The property does not have all the flash mod cons but it was amazing to be there. The food options were limited but the meals were good. We had fun playing on the broken pool table and all the staff were wonderful.
6.0 / 10.0
Without doubt one of the best panoramas we have ever had in a resort. The views are breathtaking, simply a delight for the eyes. However, the resort is tired, dated and in desperate need of updating. We found the cost of meals exorbitantly expensive and to add injury to insult we were charged 10 Fijian $ for two eggs as they were not available on the breakfast menu. Evening meals were in the range of 30/40 Fijian and the choice was limited. (eating out is not an option here due to the resorts isolated location) We moved three times during our stay as in the first instance, we were advised our room had been booked for the following day. Our second location proved to be so noisy due to loudspeakers being played from 8.00am to 2.00am and after several complaints to staff and a discussion with the manageress, we were moved to our third location which was better. Consequently we lost 4 days out of 10 through noise and having to move rooms. Be aware of the incessant noise of music being played over a boom box which we personally found so intrusive. (We did receive a 'complimentary meal' for the inconveniences we suffered.) Most of the staff @ Crusoe's are friendly and helpful but we were perplexed and incensed that our initial complaints about the 'music' went unheeded. I would recommend any prospective guests consider taking their own snacks and drinks with them.

The property was very secluded, beautiful location, we walked to the Wellsley hotel next door and none of the the rooms have a view all of our rooms did, and wellsley is a 4 star and more expensive. staff was friendly. food was OK, breakfast OK nothing exceptional.

The beach was full of crabs. The sight of crabs all over the seashore is rare these days.
Beach was very clean too

The location was lovely, very peaceful and quiet. The beach front location and views from bure were stunning. Staff were friendly funny and accommodating. The bure was functional with clean sheets and towels plus coffee tea making facilities. Overall a lovely location with highlights like evening gamesand entertainment. However food and menu lacked variety and options.

I loved this place! The staff were so welcoming, friendly, helpful, fun and accommodating. It was awesome to be next to the village and to also be off the main road and secluded.
The tour options were good, the on site activities were great, the food was yummy and the bures were very comfortable. It was sad to leave and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Very good room.
Was no phone or internet coverage in room. Therefore no communication in case of emergency etc. A lot of wooden decking rotting and not secure.
4.0 / 10.0
The views were amazing, location was easy to get to but not so much once it was dark as its down a long unlit road. The food and drinks were a bit expensive and the showers, although a double, had limited hot water, even when only using one and the pressure wasn't great. The hotel itself was amazing, very picturesque. We were able to borrow kayaks and snorkelling gear, heaps to see.
