Only stayed for one night but it was just over half the price of the local Premier inn and I was given an apartment not a room, pretty clean with a sea view and plenty to do there although I didn't have time to use any of the amenities. Free parking on site and a decent restaurant, Only thing is it's a pretty old hotel and looking a bit dated and tired but not really an issue. I will try to book this hotel again if I am in the area in the future.

Great experience. Very good price. very clean. Lovely friendly staff. Good breakfast. Will definitely use again if in the area.

Dated rooms very uncomfortable restaurant closed at 8.00pm in the evening.

Good value for money, we had an apartment but found bed to be uncomfortable and deco, extractor fan, heating to be stuck in the 80s. Also the shower was really poor. But all this ok because it was a short stay and it’s a fair price

It is time capsule hotel is great for the enthusiasts of the 1970s and 1980s deco. The hotel establishment needs a proper refurbishment, its "leisure club" shower area is full of mould, each hotel corridor has a different type of musty odour. It is all very shame as the location and views are great, the hotel staff trying to their best to accommodate the needs of the mainly senior customers.

Booked this last minute as British weather is very unpredictable. Very pleased to get a genuine sea view room. The location of this hotel is great for the seafront and promenade and the gardens are lovely. The hotel is a little tired and smacks of past grandeur but for the price you can’t complain. The staff are great and the atmosphere very relaxed. The only issue really was the evening dining where there is only an hour and a half for ordering and one guy had to do all the bar and serving. He was very good but a lot of people gave up and went into town when you would have thought the hotel would want the money. The food quality however was great and the breakfasts in particular were splendid. Would definitely come back.

Well it was mixed .
Not a bad room but bit too near main corridors and noisy above in the mornings.
No bedside lamp which seemed odd. Only very bright spotlights. Asked for one and they brought an uplighter but not a lamp in sight! Food unexciting but ok. Menu very samey. They wont let you have a 125 glass of wine ! Only larger ones even if a guest.
Fridge noisy but useful.
Better night porter and more attention to safety of guests, after a drunken fracas during the night near reception, would help!

I had an early arrival in Exmouth and they kindly offered to keep my luggage until later that afternoon. The room was comfortable with the things that would usually expect to find, television, kettle etc. The room was clean apart from a few old marks on the carpet. For once I had a shower that was easy and safe to use, my only recommendation would be the availability of a non slip surface for the bath.
There was parking provided but I would recommend care, one vehicle outside the front of the hotel made it impossible to use one entrance due to the short length of the parking space, though there were clear signs on the building warning of the length of the spaces.
I didn’t use the bar or gym and so cannot comment on them.
Generally, not modern or luxurious but I would recommend this hotel to others.

Very dated but nice hotel, good facilities, great location, beautiful grounds

We loved staying here, particularly the use of the swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Comfort and facilities are good, the staff friendly and helpful but it was rather low on water pressure for showering.

Overall all good. But during the night was quite noisy.

I was very surprised to have been given a suite during my stay. I was impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The decor is now becoming extremely dated, but I could find no fault with how clean everything was.

My room was awful , I really dislike doing a poor review but I had a window that didn't shut , miss matched curtains of various lengths or coming off the rails a poor condition little kitchen . Really disappointed as the photos on the website were very different

We expected a bedroom and en suite bathroom but also had a lounge, kitchen and extra bed in the room. We would have liked to have stayed an extra night but the hotel was fully booked. We were on a tight schedule so couldn't use the pool and gym or make full use of the facilities.

Enjoyed our stay but it was only overnight. Gardens are lovely ,room was spacious with everything we needed however the hotel could do with updating .

Booked last minute....we only live an hour away so booked at 12pm was at the hotel before check in, we could park our car in the carpark until we returned later.
We did read reviews and were expecting it to be run down but we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was dated and needed redecorating but we've definitely stayed in worse places for more money.
We used the outdoor pool, which stated it was heated but another swimmer who uses the facilities daily said the heater was broken. It was quite cold so didn't last long we went to the indoor pool which was lovely and warm, the hot tub was lovely. There was a steam room and sauna and massage chair and foot massager. Also a gym.
We would definitely come and stay again, hopefully it stays open.

We had an issue with our room on the second night which was dealt with promptly, politely & efficiently. The rooms were very clean but the hotel is very tired & needs updating. Staff very friendly & helpful.

The hotel has beautiful, well-kept gardens and really good leisure facilities. It also has off-street parking which is a bonus in Exmouth, plus the sea front is within walking distance. However, the property is in need of some TLC - the decor is shabby and outdated. We also had issues with cleanliness and room facilities during our stay.

Weather was raining then hailstone's very windy but that didn’t bother us we were there to celebrate a dear friend’s life after he passed away
The hotel could do with some modernisation the staff were great very friendly and helpful it’s nice and quiet where the hotel is and just a stone’s throw from the town

Although the price paid represents excellent value for money, as i only booked a basic room + en suite for i night, and was surprised to find we had been allocated an entire suite with lounge, kitchen 2 bathrooms balcony and sea view. staff are very friendly and service was great. my only reservation was the suite was very out of date, and appeared not to have been updated since possibly the 80's at best, and many parts of the hotel are in need of updates, renovations etc. apart from that a lovely stay

The views from the room were lovely.

The hotel could do with some serious regeneration and redecoration. But the pool facilities were excellent and it was very good value for money

Wonderful sea views.

The bedroom and en suite were appalling with no housekeeping done in the 4 night stay. The hotel is sadly let down by this. Will not be staying again. We travel to Exmouth twice a year and thought this would make a nice change. Worst experience in Exmouth.

When we unfolded the sofa bed, which our son was going to use to sleep on, there were a number of stains on the mattress. These appeared to be as a result of various types of bodily fluid. The room seemed to have an high number of insects flying about. Also, as soon as the sofa bed was fully unfolded, three beetles emerged from it. Needless to say we were disgusted. We packed our bags, informed the receptionist (who didn’t seem to really care) and we left. This was at approximately 11:00pm and we a 3 hour drive home. It was that disgusting we were still prepared to drive 3 hours home rather than sleep in that room. Easily the worst hotel experience we have ever had.

Staff who cleaned Room 305 on Sunday 27 August 2023 stole my iphone 8 from my bag in the wardrobe.
My husband was in the room on Saturday 26 Aug when they were cleaning the room but we were out on Sunday 27 Aug and that's when they took the iphone from my bag in the wardrobe.
My husband contacted the hotel for them
to say they cannot do anything about the stolen phone and insisting that cleaner did not take my iphone.
This is the first and last time I stayed in a place like this, we usually book in renowned hotels like marriott, hilton but this was a group holiday sp
did not have that option.
Dated hotel, dirty, unprofessional reception staff, arguments between guests, police attended in the early hours in the morning, manager can only apologise but could not stop one of the resident in the apartment to stop behaving in an unreasonable manner disturbing guests.
Worst stay ever and got robbed. Good luck if you are thinking to book into this hotel!!!!!!

It is a wonderfully old-fashioned hotel with a lovely garden and excellent location on the coast. The breakfast room staff knew their job well (better than in many five-star hotels!) and did it with nice attitude. My room has left a conflicting impression: breathtaking views and decent bathroom on one hand and disappointingly dirty floor and some furniture, scuffed wallpaper on the other. I wish the rooms could be upgraded gently, without destroying the charm of the place.

A lovely stay for one night. Hotel is slightly dated, but clean and comfortable and in a safe and quiet location.

Very tired hotel in need of refurbishment.
Bed quality not up to standard and room cleaner awful.
People partying in room below till 3am and no one stopped them even after we reported it and complained.
Breakfast was ok but little choice, friendly staff.

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Expected a room and got a suite. Staff all very helpful especially James.

My room was stuck in the 80's. It was truly awful and my shoes stuck to the carpet. Water didn't quickly drain from the shower or sinks, the sofa was threadbare, the carpets were garish, the kitchenette cupboards didn't fit squarely and I couldn't open the drawers.
I didn't want to touch anything in the kitchen and certainly wouldn't have used the utensils or provisions to prepare anything.
I could also hear someone in a neighbouring room on the phone - I could hear every word they said.
I will not be staying here again.
