Great hotel close to Fredensborg Castle. Our only drawback was that all bread served, both at dinner and breakfast, included sesame seeds. No alternatives, and as I am allergic to those it was a real shame. I really think you should have at least one alternative... Other than that, things were great.

Fantastic - loved walking through the Palace grounds!

We had a wonderful stay. The room was very comfortable, dinner was delicious and so beautiful! We loved being able to walk on the palace grounds and saw the most gorgeous sunset over the water. We enjoyed everything about our stay.
4.2
Nice room With good bed. Excellent dinner with superb fisk and nicely fried beef.

Everything was as good as last time apart from the internet which was slow so it was difficult to reply or get any information from hotels.com. why should it be so difficult to a loyal member

shower and toilet had no separation wall

Room is too small and tight

Wonderful Place!

Unfortunately we don‘t know any other Danish hotel to compare to. This one is impersonal, lacks facilities like a kettle, free water, glasses. Taking a shower sets the whole bathroom under water, flooding the entire floor. A simple sheet on the bed which is too small to cover the mattress. Soap container in bathroom empty; toilet dirty, so was floor. Cleaning is certainly not a forte in this place. Dinner was okay, service a little absent minded. Breakfast truly buffet style, meaning no tables laid out… one doesn’t feel very welcome. Reception not really interested or welcoming. We had to climb up the second floor with our cases, weren‘t told there is a lift. Generally could do with some renovation work and someone to motivate the staff. The Store Kro is an example that four stars don‘t mean anything. Good location for a long walk around the castle grounds.

Family trip for a birthday.
Beautiful hotel old hotel with lovely surroundings (palace / gardens).
Excellent breakfast.
Quite expensive!

Although we are like family with the staff now, there were two days with no housekeeping - so our wet towels left on shower floor are what we had to use on two occasions. Gross and inconvenient, especially at these prices. When we returned to our room and realized this, there was no one around to assist. There aren't suitcase stands in the room, so everything had to placed on the floor. Why not provide them? No extra bed pillows - just decorative ones with stains on them. There is no one to reach out to once reservation area closes, which is early. You are on your own. No vending machine to simply get a bottle of water (the bar has them for a hefty price). Nice staff and great breakfasts. Beds fairly comfortable. Room is clean. Would recommend, but know this a lovely old building, with newer sections. The restaurant gets our highest rating, and the prices are very high, however the food is outstanding. Make friends with the staff. They are helpful, but catch them during business hours.

I have learned loyalty comes with a price. I use to go back to Fredensborg store kro every time I am back in Denmark for business, however my last two stays was experienced with a price to it...It has simply become too pricy compared to other hotels nearby. ...I will check the offering before I go next time, if the same again, I will be staying elsewhere...It´s a shame, thus i really like this hotel.

The room, bed and bath were terrible. Way over priced, look elsewhere

Nice hotel in a quiet and beuatiful area. Only small negative is I wish the room had a kettle.

Excellent First class

I stayed in the annex building across the street from the main hotel building. It was a nice, clean room with ground floor views of the palace. The location of this hotel is excellent for visiting the place which is only a few hundred feet away.
4.2
nice location, hotel could use a little freshen up, but great restaurant, bar, and grounds around it.
4.2
Loved the location! We were literally steps away from Fredensborg Castle where the palace gardens are free and open up the public. Lovely hotel, great breakfast!
4.2
The location (just outside the Queens palace) is remarkable. It is a beautiful with so much to do within 20 minutes of everything. I will be returning to stay again for sure. As an American there on business, I found their staff to be very kind and they all spoke good English when asking questions.

everything was good, I always come back when I can. Its cozy, quite, feeling of quality and still close to Copenhagen. I really like Fredensborg Store Kro.
If I can just mention one thing, note taken in consideration for the future and as international traveler with about 70-80 nights in a year - Store Kro has become expensive in the restaurant...please look at your prices (store kro) you are more expensive than city center of Copenhagen with certain basic things in the restaurant and bar especially.

Lovely setting. The room was in the main building on the top floor so the roof sloped in making the room slightly difficult to manoeuvre round. There was no ability to make your own tea!coffee in the rooms Staff were friendly. Drinks very expensive in the bar but food was excellent.
4.2
No sound isolation between rooms and hallway, no staff in reception, unfriendly and unskilled crew.

I’ve stayed here multiple times as I have family in Fredensborg. The hotel isright outside the Queen’s Castle so is a scenic location. Many people don’t realize the castle grounds are open to the public. A lake nearby is great for swimming. The town itself is great for shopping and browsing. Not a lot of shops but quality merchandise. Plus there are opportunities for a cappuccino with the ability to just sit and watch the world go by. Charming hotel, charming location and charming small town Main Street.
4.2
Beautiful place in beautiful location. Breakfast excellent. Reastaurant pricy but very good. Be aware that taxis easily take 15-20 min wait

One of the better Airport hotels very conviniently located so close to terminal.
Nice room, Sheraton standard.
Nothing special to report as such - neither plus nor minus so overall good!
4.2
Only two TV channels, dirty dishes at breakfast, extremly slow elevator, and the windows so old they couldn´t open properly. But the hotel has a very nice "feel" to it. I wish they would just adjust a little bit..
4.2
Beautiful setting and friendly atmosphere. The room, however, was a disappointment. No sockets for charging smart phones, iPads etc, renovated bathroom but no floor heating, an old plastic shower curtain clinging to your body while taking your shower 😱, room in dire need of refreshing! No safe, no coffee maker, nothing!!
4.2
Large room but no amenities such as tea/coffee maker. No information pamphlet about hotel, menu or internet password.
Very large tv but small selection of channels.
Extra bed not set up on arrival. Breakfast ok.

Newly built annex with clean, modern and comfortable rooms. A bit ”over-designed” bathroom with no place for soap/shampoo. Tiny shower.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was huge and quiet, and dinner at the bistro was of a very high standard. They accommodated my request for a vegetarian meal with no problem at all. The palace and parkland is only 5 minutes walk away. The staff were very friendly and told us where we could visit nearby, as well as great tips on free parking for Frederiksborg Castle, as well as showing us the on site museum. Would definitely stay again.

A quiet retreat with an uncomplicated and friendly check in and check out. The room was adjacent to the hotel, just a walk over the street (with a nice view to "Fredensborg Slot"). Breakfast was good, some danish specialties. Atmosphere relaxed and quiet. The room was clean, big for two people, but storage place was scarce for 7 days - most people just book for one or two nights apparently. But that was ok for us. We brought our bikes and the surrounding area was perfect for bike tours. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and homely. Relaxing environment. Every friendly staff. Excellent food and service in their restaurant. Good breakfast included.
