I would give a 5 star but the owner neglects the details. Staff at hotel next door are great and helpful. The room itself was very clean and pleasent. Great location Light bulbs out in room and underpowered. TV didn't work on arrival, no welcome drink as promised, had to pay in cash without knowing ahead of time. Mirror in bathroom sucks. It's slanted sideways on wall since there is a window over the sink Very hard if you wear contact lenses to see especially with light bulb out. Easy fix with mounting a swivel mirror instead. Shower is good except the tray hole is slanted so it won't hold soap or anything else. Overall a very nice place and I would have told the owner when he came to collect his money but he was in too much of a hurry.

Fantastic location right next to the Vestibule. Great breakfast at the adjoining hotel. Plan parking options ahead of time if traveling with a rental car.

The place looks very nice. We love the stone walls and everything according to the city. Staff was also very helpful. We were on the 3rd floor. The only downside was that the bathroom drain stunk of sewer very bad and it made the whole bedroom smell bad. Fixing that and the place is great.

It’s a room on the second floor with steep steps as are all in the area. Best place in town, great breakfast and Ivan, the host, was ready to help us, even from and to the airport for a very fair price. Greatly recommended!

To be fair, this is a room within an ancient castle… so you can’t compare it to the Four Seasons. The ambience and preservation of the local culture create a mood that is five star. Do not attempt to search for the rooms though. Find the Vestibul hotel and inquire there. The owner is easy to contact.

The room was lovely and the location was really central. It was very unusual and not like an average hotel room. However, 2 of the lights didnt work. The owner said he would fix them but that did not happen. Therefore the room was quite dark, even with the windows open and the lights on. The location is central to the old town, however, the down side of the location is that the church bells wake up you up very early in the morning. The check in instructions were not clear, as we needed to go to the hotel next door, who called the owner to check us in. This should be made clearer when booking.

We loved our stay here. East to find and walking distance to everything - port, trains/bus stations, all activities, restaurants and shopping. The room was spacious, had everything we needed and the added historical context was a huge bonus (we didn't find out until we did a walking tour that we were staying in what once were the upper apartments of Diocletian's Palace - built in 305 AD). Everything was spotlessly clean, staff and breakfast excellent. Check-in and Check-out quick and easy. Highly recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat when we return to Split.

We had such a great stay here in Split. This is such a unique property being in the palace grounds. The room was clean, well-appointed and had some incredible views of the cathedral. Breakfast was also delicious! Would highly recommend!

Amazing location - literally within the palace walls, close to basement market and port. A nicely remodeled room within a beautiful historic stone house. Breakfast included from Hotel next to us was great as well. Ivan was amazing letting us store our bags before checkin, getting us settled and arranging our airport transfer at the end. Can't say enough good things about this property and Ivan. Absolutely book here!

Valet parking advertised but NOT available. Specifically inquired about the valet availability knowing the property was within the palace and parking is limited. Only enough hot water for one shower. Unit is beautiful, but be prepared to climb stairs (A LOT of stairs) with your luggage. Ivan was an absolute gem carrying my heavy bag as I was 1/2 way through a long work trip.

We loved our stay at this hotel! It’s in the heart of old split right above the main gates into the bazar. A day prior to arrival someone from the hotel sent us a message and h was our point of contact. Once we arrived, he met us next tot the car and helped us carry our two Large suitcases up to our room. There were a few steps to take to get to the room, so if You have difficulty carrying luggage you may want to reconsider. The room was cozy and clean. Everything worked perfectly. The breakfast was lovely and was included. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again!

We were right in the center of the old town of Split. The breakfast was great. Every thing was superb except for the shower, which was a big problem because it was so hot.

Hotel was in a great location, not so easy to find. But as a recommendation it is next door to vestibul palace hotel. Ivan our host did find us searching about and took us to the room. He was very kind and accomodating and helped us find food spots and recommended places to see and how to see them. Decor was typical of old Venetian buildings. We loved it and would recommend if in split. Turns out Croatians aren't big on breakfast (not sure how true this actually is) but the breakfast which is served next door, doesnt offer a huge selection. Enough to get you by.

Wow ! We were taken back by the location and the room . Set right in the centre of the old town , couldn’t have been better . Immaculate room and Ivan met us at the taxi drop off and escorted us the few minutes to our room, great friendly service

Nice decoration in an old style building. Very good location right in the middle of the old town with the view over a cute little square. Good breakfast arranged with the hotel next door. Mr. Botic was very helpful organising free parking and helping us with dinner reservations. Overall pleasant stay and would recommend!
