This home provided a lovely stay. Has a modern feel and is very clean. Location is very convenient too!

Very comfortable unit. Private hot tub was a nice feature. Well appointed kitchen.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed the place, the view of the mountains and the fjord/town of Akureyri, and the spectacular show that we got from the northern lights on one of our nights there. We saw the lights on two of the four nights, and of course, there's never a guarantee. But on the night that we had a mostly clear sky, the show was spectacular. If you visit in the winter and get lucky, it's a beautiful spot to see the lights overheard from outside both the back and front of the place. Benedikt was good when it came to answering questions by email, and we chose not to rent a car and use the local taxi company to get to and from town. That added a little expense to the stay, but it was well worth it for us. Some guests in the other units did what we did. Some rented cars. It worked very nicely either way. We strongly recommend staying here and hope you get lucky with the lights like we did.

Nice little house with private hottop and a beautyful few on Akureyri.

We loved staying in our Viking Cottage. It was so nice to have a spacious place with a personal hot tub all to ourselves! The heated floors were amazing, and the bed in the loft was very comfortable. The location is just a few minutes drive from the Forest Lagoon and downtown Akureyri and about a half hour from Goðafoss waterfall. It is beautiful to look across the fjord and see the town and the mountains from the cottage. A perfect vacation getaway spot! It was our favorite place we stayed in Iceland and wished we'd stayed for more than two nights.

Awesome property! Great location just outside the city, with a great view. It was very peaceful, and the hot tub was a plus.

Very nice cottage but it was very hot, and no way to switch off the heater but expect this it was all perfect

Great location in a very cool, stylishly designed cottage. Nice touch with use of the hot tub plus an orange press with fresh oranges available to be used.
Only a couple of downsides, being the fridge never got cold (not ideal for self catering) and the stove top espresso machine must have previously been burnt as no matter how much we cleaned it, it always created burnt coffee, so could do with being replaced. Would be happy to stay there again though.

What a beautiful property with everything going for it. Beautiful, contemporary, clean and location, location, location. Easy day trips to Húsavík and/or Lake Myvatn area. We couldn’t have been happier.
4.8
Well designed apartment with great views and amenities like kitchen, hot tub, and washer/dryer.

Extremely Awesome. Spotless. Best place in Akureyri.

Although the property was smaller than we expected it was in a great location for exploring the area, the hot tub was a lovely finishing touch. Great sound system also.

The Viking Cottages were a rare (last minute) find on our whimsical drive around the coast of Iceland and are truly fantastic. Finished to a very high standard, extremely comfortable beds, clean, tidy, great amenities including hot tub and even extra touches above what we expected (fresh oranges and orange press for juice).
The only comment I would have for anyone considering staying in winter would be that a 4 wheel drive is probably needed if you’re planning to go out in the days. We left our car at the top of the hill (in the car park) on the second day as was much easier to get out from there.

Lovely apartment, comfortable warm and ideal for exploring North of the Island.
Only complaints were no wardrobe space in top bedroom, and no bedside tables in either bedrooms.

Wonderful place, we look forward for our next stay!

The apartment is absolutely beautiful. It's wonderful having the hot tub on the deck. It is very well outfitted and maintained. We liked the location looking toward town rather than being in town.

You have to drive apprx 150 meters in a dirt road, however great appartment with all the nessecities, a very comfort bed and sheets and nice view of the lake.

Checked in to find a party of six in the unit I rented! Was hugely unconvinced and had to stay in a smaller unit then the one I paid for! Asked for a reduced rate and denied!

Home away from home! Everything was just how I like it. The design of the house is modern and simple, the temperature in the house was perfect. It's new, clean and thoughtfully decorated. The floors were warm and beds are so comfy!!! The shower was one of the best I ever had. We spent few hours in Jacuzzi and absolutely loved the view. I wish I never had to leave that house.

Great location and condition, good for family and middle size group travelers. Will definitely come back.

This was a beautiful cottage slightly outside the town, with a fantastic view and great amenities. It was convenient to be able to cook and do laundry. But even better to enjoy the beauty of the location. It was a convenient point for day trips - Polar Hestar horse rides were a high point.

Loved every minute of our stay. The place was clean with great view.

Fantastic view! Close to downtown. Spacious living area with great amenities. Easy check in and check out. Best place I stayed at in Iceland.
4.8
Beautiful cottage in a convenient location. We like not being right in the middle of everything but close enough that you can be there in a few minutes.
4.8
Lovely cottage. We had thought that it was one of the raw timber cottages displayed on the pictures but it is not. Still lovely but the bedroom is extremely small. And the spa pool is also very small. But for the price we paid it was good value (for over priced Iceland )

The space was beautiful and impeccably clean. We loved having access to the washing machine and the hot tub. The lofted bed had a great view of the city and the water.
The owner gave us helpful direction for finding the place, which was ~10 minute drive from Akureyri city center.
We enjoyed our stay and would visit again!

A very nice cottage, very well equipped with everything you can think of. Located about 5 min drive from Akurery just near the famous view point overlooking the fjord and the city. We stayed in a two bedroom cottage. The other bedroom was in the second floor and had its own living room. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it a lot to overcome the terribly expensive rates in the restaurants.

Lovely centrally located apartment

Wow. This place is in itself a great place to stay. Very clean, comfortable with a hot tub with great views. But if you can appreciate unique architecture and design, you will love this place. Most of the interior floors, walls and ceilings are made of plywood (or plywood-looking) material and all the cabinetry is very clean looking. Its definitely very modern looking. We were in one of the 2 bdrm units, and if get a choice go for the B unit vs the A unit because I believe it gets better views and has more windows. Theres great kitchen amenities and a clean washer/dryer. There was a giant B&O bluetooth speaker when I stayed. Maybe we missed the instructions somewhere, but one suggestion I would have is better instruction on how to fill the hot tub. We eventually figured it out though without any help.
