Beautiful little hotel was a real find. Well located for many of the sites in Kyoto but on a peaceful, quiet street. The room was much larger in comparison with similar priced hotels we stayed at in Tokyo. The bathroom was beautiful with a huge shower room, jacuzzi bath, separate toilet and washbasins. Possibly the best small hotel I have stayed in.

The hotel is immaculate , the staff are very courteous and helpful. They always had a smile on there faces. Great time

It felt like a luxurious home away from home. The beds were very comfortable, the shower pressure was amazing, the jetted tub was nice after a long day of walking. The staff were so wonderful to us. We felt relaxed and would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed 2 nights everything was perfect, the room and the people, 10/10 :)

We highly recommend this outstanding hotel. The customer service is simply the best we've ever had in any hotel. We have travelled around the world and never experienced such kind and caring staff that went out of their way to make our stay extra comfortable. We cannot thank the staff enough, they even helped arrnaged for my wife's watch to be sent from our previous hotel in Osaka where it was accidently left. We cannot say that it would have been found or returned in many other places! We wish we could rate this hotel higher than 5 stars thanks to the wonderful and very hospitable staff.
The hotel is very clean and set in an ideal location. The room is spacious and comfortable. The restaurants nearby are great and the bar next door is awesome. A must stay in Kyoto. Thank you very much for the best stay, we would love to come back.

Room is very good! Staff are good! Everything is prefect.
Just only one thing could be improved that I felt very inconvenient to find the hotel if I drive car.

By far my favorite hotel that we stayed in during our visit to Japan. I prefer to stay a little out of the way of the major corridors, and this was a perfect fit with that in mind. About a 10-15 minute gets you out to the prime areas of town. The hotel staff were very kind and hospitable, and our room was pristine and spacious. Bed and linens all felt incredible, the little details go a long way. The hotel is mid-block so you won't have spectacular views, but you have peace and quiet, and a lovely place to spend some time. Highly recommended.

Book a room with jacuzzi tub—the technology of the shower and tub in those rooms is amazing and state of the art
Great new hotel by all counts.
It’s an area with few taxis, though the hotel will call one. No drivers responded to my one attempt to call Uber from the hotel.
Returning to the hotel by taxi was a nightmare. Most drivers are older and don’t use GPS navigation, so even though I showed them the address in Expedia in Japanese kanji, some still couldn’t find it. One, late at night, told me”I was in the area “Komi hen design), got out, pulled out google maps and had been dropped off half a mile away.
That said, the hotel is only three blocks from a larger street with buses. I bought a couple of one day bus passes at the visitors center just outside the central exit at the train station ( on the left) for 600 yen each.
The first use of a day pass, you insert the pass in the machine by the driver when getting off the bus, it stamps the pass in large numbers, then you simply show the pass to the driver when getting off the bus for the rest of the day.
If you are riding the bus three or more times in a day, the pass is the way to go.
The bus goes to all the major tourist attractions and google maps shows which bus to take and the next bus schedule.
Also there are two trai stations within walking distance of the hotel.
Nishi-Ku market is about an 11 minute walk from the hotel.
There is an wonderful fresh fruit store close to the hotel

Everything about this hotel was incredible and the staff and room created an experience of home. Every person we spoke to at the front desk was beyond helpful and went out of their way to secure reservations or provide recommendations on things to do or places to eat. The staff was so friendly and personable, even after we asked they unlock the room safe three times! The room itself was huge, warm, inviting, and impeccably clean. Toiletries were great quality, the shower was huge, the bed was so comfortable—I couldn’t say enough good things! This place is a gem amongst all the jewels of Kyoto.

Great little boutique hotel. Good location but still about a 10-15 min walk to a train station. Staff is amazing and our 1 bedroom suite was nice, modern and spacious. We loved the little restaurant just down the street. Would definitely book here again.

The bed is one of the most comfortable I have slept in. I have been back 5 times now. Highly recommended if you are just looking for a nice place with minimal accommodation to stay.

The hotel itself was great, helpful staff that spoke good English, clean room with air conditioning, futuristic toilet facilities and an extremely comfortable bed. We arrived an hour before scheduled check in but they made the room available for us early as I think it was clear that we had been travelling for a long time (20 hours total from the UK, including lay overs). The location was great for us as we were off exploring kyoto every day. Its fairly central to a lot of great sites, nowhere is further than a 30 or 40 minute walk thanks to how walkable kyoto is. Subway entrance for karasuma oike is right nearby for going a bit further afield, and there are plenty of places to eat within 2 minutes walk of the hotel for breakfast, including a fantastic obanzai cafe just around the corner. The hotel entrance is locked after 1am until 6am but they provide you with a code to get in. There's always someone at the front desk anyway during these times.Great place.

This was a great small hotel in a perfect Kyoto neighborhood. We truly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return.

The 3.5 stars of the Hotel does not do justice to this little gem in a calm but central area of Kyoto. The rooms (superior twin rooms) are tastefully decorated (western style but with a japanese touch), the bedding is absolutely comfortable and the bathroom is stunning (bubblebathtub and a rainshower). The hotel is very calm and therefore perfect if you want to have a bit of quietness during your stay.
The staff is very friendly and professional.
Keep in mind though, that there is no restaurant or breakfast available. However, there are plenty of restaurants around and the rooms are equipped with everything you need to make tea or coffee (very good quality by the way).

Very pleasant hotel with eager-to-please staff. The rooms were particularly clean and plush. Plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood, and interesting alleys to explore. The only down side is it's a little difficult to find—even for local taxis apparently. Don't let that put you off, just make sure you take a map with you.

A very luxurious hotel and stay for the 4 of us. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Extremely courteous and caring, they attended to every minute detail they could. We will definitely be back.

This was a fabulous experience. We booked last minute and the staff was so kind and accommodating. They helped us reserve spots for dinner and gave us many other recommendations of things to do over our short stay. The room itself was very large and well-appointed. Everything was new and the shower was excellent. I highly recommend.

This small boutique hotel was great. We were there during Matsuri Gion Festival and it was right in the heart of the action. There was 4 floats located all around us and food and souvenir stalls everywhere as well. Great access to the Nishiki Market, main streets and subways. . The people running the hotel were great hosts. The room is virtually brand new and had some amazing drip coffee. The owners of this 12 room property have thought of everything. Great experience. I would definitely stay here again.
