We liked the friendly staff but weru disappointed with the luncheon menus and the evening meals weren't up to the standard of other hotels in this category!!

We had a sea view room accessed via lift. All the staff are polite and approachable nothing is too much to ask.
The ocean waves lulled us to sleep and woke us ready for a new day. The town of Sidmouth is quaint by modern standards which only adds to it charm. A return visit is very likely. Many thanks Sidmouth.

Good location, nice staff and breakfast. Room was pretty small and double bed also. Could benefit from additional toiletries. Ambient temperature was too high. Overall positive.

We had a wonderful few days here. The staff were all very helpful, polite, welcoming. They all seemed to enjoy their work. All had a smile on their face. We hope to return. The hotel looks over the sea which is very calming and relaxing. Sidmouth is a lovely town to wandere around. We loved it

Every thing was wonderful

The staff were all very nice. We were disappointed that our seaview room didn’t have a balcony to sit on, but the view was very nice. There is quite a bit of road noise.

Friendly staff and convenient location.

We liked the friendly staff at breakfast. The breakfast was very good.
But we didn’t like being told we could not park in an empty space in the car park because it was ‘reserved ‘. This was puzzling as we booked the hotel because it was advertised as having free car parking. So this is deceptive. Later we found out that ‘ reserved’ meant customers who booked direct with the hotel rather than online. Not sure if this is correct but it wasn’t the friendly welcome we had hoped for.

Every aspect of the Elizabeth was a pleasant surprise - its modern facilities, its seafront location (and of our room), the convenient car-parking and the wide breakfast choice. The room has clearly been thoroughly cleaned and was bright and airy. Well done to all the staff.

The most notable thing about this hotel was the helpfulness of all the staff - helpful from start to finish. It was all good and we might well be back in the future.

There was a problem with the lift which was handled sensitively by the staff. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff made our stay an enjoyable experience

Certainly comfortable , clean and in a fine position on the seafront. For such a reputable hotel I found some things disappointing. The reception welcome was efficient but lacking warmth and friendliness and breakfast was only average. I don't think you should be expected to wait more than 20 minutes for a fried egg on toast, nor have to ask for toast and marmalade - a miserly small jar was meant to be spread over 4 pieces. Unfortunately, these small quibbles came on top of a horrific evening spent with a band providing non- stop drum beating from 8-10.30 adjacent to our room, preventing our reading, watching television or opening a window for fresh air. We sadly won't be returning in a hurry!

Room was cramped, furniture was shabby and I didnt find it particularly clean. Bed and pillows very uncomfortable. Requested different pillows but they weren't any better. Expected more for £170 a night ! Left an initial review, on our first morning, commenting on this. Was told manager would get this feedback but didn't here anything. Had to go and buy new pillows for the second night. On the plus side the hotel is close to seafront and amenities. Also the staff at breakfast were lovely, even though they were struggling with low staffing levels. Even so, would not stay here again.

Everything about my stay was superb, from the location to the staff, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the breakfast was awesome.

It wasn't worth the money (£149 a night) but it was okay, a mixed bag really - it advertises that parking is included but the morning of our stay I got an email to say that there was no space and details of local car parks, which felt a bit unfair after we'd booked and thought we had peace of mind. Also the shower was dreadful, just a trickle, I couldn't wash my hair in it, loads worse than our dodgy shower at home. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was nice but I wouldn't return.

Our stay at Hotel Elizabeth was fantastic. We were especially delighted with the choice of food on the menus - we are both coeliac and so many of the choices were gluten free so we felt completely safe. The staff could not do enough to help and were very kind and attentive. We had daily cleaning and could not fault the care that was given - everything was spotless. We had not been away for so long so needed this break and it did not disappoint. We are looking to go back as soon as we can arrange our the time round other commitments.

The staff at the hotel were lovely and very helpful with some requests we had and the the view of the sea from the restaurant was stunning, food in tue restaurant was lovely and full of flavour. The bed in the room was very comfortable and room very clean. My only advise for booking is if you want a parking space reserve one in advance how ever there is free parking near by

Another lovely stay at The Elizabeth. Speedy check in and great to be allocated a parking space. Hotel is spotless and a great room with bay window overlooking the sea front.

Property well decorated, good bathrooms and very clean. The staff were all helpful and friendly. The rooms on the top floor were a little small and felt cramped. Although there was a lift accessing the rooms was round lots of corners and sloping ceilings.

They claim to have parking before booking. Immediately after booking they inform you there is no parking and point you to car parks a fair walk away.

Slightly of the beaten track this is situated in a cute village. Everything is a drive away
We had the room at the very top. Narrow stairs . Not suitable for older folks with mobility issues. Staff unwelcoming. Lunch and dinner comes with a hefty price tag. Average dinner 35 gbp (entree)
While location pleasant the whole staff situation would not lead me to recommend this hotel

One thing we didn't like - the radiator in the showeroom was extremely hot and felt that someone may burn themselves.

I had a lovely stay at the Elizabeth in Sidmouth. It is a very pleasant hotel on the sea front. The staff were exceptional at making me feel at home and answering my numerous queries. I was lucky in that I did find some on site parking. I realise how difficult parking is in Sidmouth…..
A suggestion from me: perhaps guests could be given the option of NOT having their towels changed every day which to me is a bit excessive and not something I would do, even at home.
All in all, I would recommend the Elizabeth to friends. Thanks. Sandra Barrow

The young staff were all great, really enjoyed them. The room we were allocated (28) was well appointed, but very small with poor sound insulation from adjoining rooms. We enjoyed Sunday dinner at the restaurant and breakfasts were excellent. We partly chose the hotel because of on-site parking, but were initially told 'it's full'. We were found a space at check-in, but I'd have been unhappy without it. Overall a nice stay.

We were welcomed very warmly by Emily and shown to our room which was OK though a little small I felt. The meals were well cooked and the service quick and friendly. I thought the lounge should be by the window but perhaps there is a good reason for having the restaurant there.
The staff were lovely so friendly and helpful.
