The road to access the guesthouse was a bit dirty. The rooms were soundproofed and clean. The restaurant was opened until 10pm.

The staff here was wonderful. We planned to leave our room very early for a long drive back to the west coast and because we were going to miss breakfast the staff was so kind to pack us a little lunch free of charge. We thought it was so very kind of them to do that and appreciated it so much. Thank you for the kind gesture and a lovely stay.

Instructions were easy to follow and staff were helpful. Only downside is you have to check in before 9pm (21:00).
Very safe and the breakfast was good/decently priced. I actually accidentally left some of my valuables by the shoe rack out of exhaustion from a long hike or three…and nobody messed with it overnight when they easily could have swiped my coat and taken a joy ride. Excellent service and more for the price!

Easy check in at the bar of the on-site restaurant. Comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast included in the price- a rarity!
As the halls are all wood floors and the doors are too it could easily get very loud for some travelers. If you try to be aware of your noise levels it isn’t an issue

The road leading to the hotel is not paved and bad for the car. Very remote. Shared bathrooms are not clean . Breakfast was good and dinner was excellent but pricey . Too many bugs outside the hotel. Very simple rooms

Staff were wonderful and the dinner and breakfast accommodations were fantastic and extremely high quality. Anyone visiting the area should stay here. - it was the best stay I’ve had so far during my time in Iceland.

This is a typical youth hostel. Many rooms next to each other, but also many bathrooms (much better bathroom-to-guest ratio than many other guest houses). Guess it was still early in the season, the place was far from full, which was very nice. The place was clean and quiet, including the shared bathroom. The included breakfast next morning was typical for Iceland, with cold cuts and bread and jams.

Very helpful and friendly people. It was at the end of a long non-paved road, but we could drive fairly quickly on it. Loved that they had a rsmall estaurant that stayed open til 10pm.

Very nice, out of the way location. It was an old school that was turned into a great guesthouse. Plenty of clean comfortable rooms, great dining room and bar, and an exceptional breakfast. The staff was also very helpful.

We stayed one night at this guesthouse on a trip around the ring road. Overall, it is a nice property. The rooms are spacious and each room has a sink. I enjoyed the tapestries on the walls (in several languages) explaining the history and legends of the area. This property served breakfast including toast/jams, eggs, and juices. We did not use the onsite restaurant for dinner so I cannot comment on it.
The only negatives I can think of - The property is about 30 minutes south of Laugar. I did not realize that when I was booking. And the wifi is really weak in this property.
Overall, it was a good stay and I would recommend this property.
