Great apartment at Friary but our room was on 3rd floor with no elevator which could be a struggle for some.

Location was different to what's on the map (it's right next door to the New County Hotel). The apartment was lovely though, looks like it's been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. £250 damage deposit seemed quite excessive. Not sure if they get a lot of trouble as housekeeping also came in during stay but didn't do any cleaning, make beds, or fold towels etc (I only knew they'd been because they folded over the edge of the toilet paper and emptied the bin) so I assume their main purpose was to check up on the flat.

The apartment I was assigned was right next door to the hotel where I picked up the room key. The check in was easy when I read the instructions and realised I had to go to the hotel reception. The apartment was immacuate and well equipped. Much better than a hotel room. There is not a lift so only suitable for people who can manage stairs with luggage. There are three floors.

The walls were falling apart. It seems like there was a repair done and it was either incorrect or a very shoddy job. Every time my clothes touched the wall there was a powdery substance on them and we realised it was from the walls. When the door opened and closed pieces of the wall or ceiling were falling off on to the carpet and in our hair. I had previously asked where I can park and it was suggested to use off street and car parks - after being told you can park over night - this was not the case as the car parking complex near the apartment only allows you to book to 11pm. I was informed that the reception was 24 hours my partner and I were calling the number given at 1130 for over 10 mins straight and no one answered - to the point we have had to dive 5 mins away from our place of stay to Paid parking you have to remove your vehicle by 7am. Also where I was told I can park outside the building it’s a double yellow do not park there you will get fined. There is a small hidden car park in between the buildings however its first come first serve. The people parking there are not even staying at the Nelson apartments which is unfair as those who have paid to stay there should get priority! The kitchen could do with a freezer to use for ice. Other than that equipment in kitchen is ok. Television is dated - not a smart TV very limited to what you can watch Positive- bed was comfortable but smaller than standard double

The shower was difficult to use. I can't make the hot water work ended up having a bath. The radiator in the main room was not working. I called to inform them but still doesn't work well for both. It was also unfortunate that the street and the entrance to the property got flooded, so I was affected too. It was also inconvenient to pick up the key from a different address.

We loved our stay at The Nelson Inn. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment. It is 2 floors with the kitchen, living room, and a half bath on the 1st floor and 2 bedrooms and a full bath (with a shower and bathtub) on the 2nd floor. The kitchen has a small refrigerator (no freezer), clothes washing machine (no dryer), microwave, kettle, 4 top gas stove, small oven, plates, bowls, mugs and glasses, pots, cutlery, and utensils. There is a table with 4 chairs. The living room is cozy with a sofa and TV. The main bedroom has a double bed, TV, dresser, and a wardrobe with some hangers. The smaller bedroom has a double bed, TV, and a wardrobe with some hangers. There is also a clothing iron, ironing board, hair dryer, a clothing rack to dry your clothes, and free WiFi. The positives: this place is super cute and very clean. The staff are awesome! If we had any questions or problems they took care of it right away. It is right next to the Quays so there are lots of restaurants and shopping right next door. The negatives: while it has been updated this is not a luxury accommodation. The downstairs furniture is very worn and in need of replacing (they are in the process of doing that). The stairs are steep so it’s not good if you have mobility issues, no air conditioning, and the office where you get the key is a 5-10 minute walk on an uneven sidewalk from the apartment. It needs a gate to keep vagrants out of the courtyard. Despite the negatives, we will be staying again!

Not particularly impressed. No storage as no bedrooms had wardrobes, shower fixing fell off the wall when water was turned on. Fridge made loud noise and had a smell when opened cutlery not particularly well cleaned eg cheese grater had dried cheese still on it. Overpriced for what it was.
