Very convenient for Stansted airport. Code on door for access to bedroom did not work. Urgently needs addressing.

Charming place with four nice rooms over a pub. Friendly staff and good food in the pub. Note no elevator/lift. No real climate control though had a fan and some other gadget, and the windows do open. Easy one stop on the Stansted Expess then you’re right there. The train in the AM did not stop frequently

Noisy street and overpriced were biggest issues.

Very nice stay, stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the whole area and the Kings Arms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food with reasonable prices.

I lucked into this small local hotel, which is part of a local public house. It's around the corner from the Stansted Mountfitchet train station, less than 5 minutes of walking. It was cheaper and faster to take the Tube and train than to catch a taxi or shuttle bus.
I arrived late, after their kitchen was closed, but they helped me find a nearby restaurant with takeout, then set me up with cutlery and a pint. The room was cozy and QUIET. It was stocked with breakfast cereal, a pint of milk, coffee, tea, and biscuits.
In the morning, there was a public trail to a nature reserve for walking dogs and jogging before I got back on the train for the Stansted Airport (1 stop away).
Great spot, highly recommended.

Perfect Pub stay. Walking distance to train with only one stop to airport. Stansted is lovely historic town. Bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night. Staff were lovely. My only critique is cereal was offered in the room, but not enough milk packets to enjoy it. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice amenities and comfy bed with nice linens. Pub and dining room are downstairs so noise does travel as rooms are over the pub. Staff very friendly. Good food in the downstairs restaurant. Right in town and sidewalks for getting out and about in the small village.

Awful- firstly this was booked in error. Hotel.com app showed an error when I tried to book it and I believed the transaction had therefore not been completed. When I went back to try and rebook, it said there were no rooms left. I then booked another hotel. Shocking but to my amazement hotel. com then charged me for this hotel which was not refundable. I immediately tried to phone the hotel to change the dates and see if they would push the stay on into February as I had paid for a room I could not use but nobody picked up- I was trying to change the dates so I didn’t lose the money. I emailed the Hotel direct within 5 mins of the booking but again no response. I then tried emailing the next day and tried to phone the hotel on 2 further occasions but no response. They just don’t care, have no customer service and take your money without trying to resolve the problem. AWFUL!!! At least answer the phone or respond even if you can’t help. As for Hotel.com you can’t get hold of them either- it is a joke

A very pleasant surprise! Very nice and clean room above the great pub. Can't thank the staff enough. Besides being very helpful (booking taxi and arranging a table at the pub) they were also very kind and helped make our travel nightmare much better. Would be very happy to stay again, particularly when we could enjoy a few more pints!

Cozy and fantastic stay! The pictures don't give enough justice!
Being used to Hiltons, Hyatts and/or other chain hotels for work conferences , it was so refreshing to stay in a cozy English Inn.
The food was great.
Fantastic atmosphere in the tavern. Everyone super friendly.
We stayed in room 2 (with batyhtub) on the road side, and while one of us is a wicked light sleeper normally. We found the noise of the town below soothing and lulled us both to sleep.
Bed was super comfy, good bathroom, coffee, tea, milk and snacks in the room.
Small grocery just down the road as well as the train station. Originally we planned to stay 3 nights, but ended up with 5.
Will definitely stay again!

Excellent little hotel over a classic English pub. Good services in area such as coffee and train. Very friendly staff

Classic inn with a lot of history. Great if you like classic English establishment. Restaurant was excellent. Staff was friendly. Walking distance to all the sights in Salisbury

The room was a bit tired and needs a refresh and was facing the roadside so vehicle noise was quite bad. Then I got a lovely wake up call from the bin men emptying the glass bottle bins at 6am.
The food in the bar was terrible and overpriced, has to send it back as it was inedible. The bar itself is a bit depressing as was the rest of the town. Should have known better than stop above a pub.

Ideal location for Stansted Airport, We had a shambles of a checking in, as they could not find our room key, the room could be cleaner as well and stocked with Loo roll and hand wash, the room was nice and comfortable for our 1 night stay, free onsite parking with other food options in close walking distance

What a great hotel, very nice friendly staff who couldn’t of been more helpful, fantastic food we stayed on Sunday so had the roast dinner which was amazing.
Right next door to train station so 7 mins to Standsted airport far cheaper than a taxi.
Only downside was it was quite hot in the room but nothing a fan would have not sorted.
Will definitely stay again when flying from Stansted.

While our stay was short, Kings Arms was delightful. Yasmin, our host, was informative and friendly. Our only regret is we didn’t have more time to fully enjoy Kings Arms restaurant and pub. The accommodations were comfortable and perfect! Conveniently located to train enabling a quick trip to Stansted airport. Highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations. We just needed a place to stay near Stansted Airport and saw this was nearby for a reasonable cost. The staff person greeted us and was super attentive. The room was lovely and clean. The amenities included robes for each of us, as well as slippers. Really outstanding. Will gladly make this our hotel for future flights out of Stansted.

Great place to stay if you need to get to Stansted airport. Room was cosy, bed was very comfortable. Make sure you reach the correct Stansted train station (not the airport station).

I would rather sleep in the car than in this awful dump. Tiny, claustrophobic, primitive. Absolutely awful, I paid for two nights and left after one and went to a proper hotel.

Super easy check in. Fabulous room. I wish I was staying longer. Great food in the pub below. I will definitely stay then next time I am traveling near by.

This is a charming little place which has a lot of thought and care woven in. It's clean, spacious and close to the train station...... and I didn't hear the train at all. For someone who has traveled all over this planet, I was pleasantly impressed. Highly recommended.

Very welcoming on arrival, nice place to stay. Burger was very good. Rooms are smart, very comfortable bed. No breakfast service, only instant coffee, cereals and milk in room.

Lovely pub with 4 rooms upstairs. Really nicely decorated and comfortable. Staff are really friendly and we paid for a brunch in the pub which was really good
2.0
Very nice room and comfortable bed. The tray breakfast was disappointing, only biscuits (which are normally given anyway) pack of buttons chocolates (?) and a choice of 4 individual cereals. Perhaps a sealed croissant or muffin would have reflected the price paid. Also, no where to put toiletries in the bathroom. We had to put the toilet bag on the floor! Pleasant staff.

Although the room was small, it had everything we needed. The sink in the bathroom was a little awkwardly placed.
The service was very friendly and professional. All of the staff were fantastic, but especially Alfie. We were made to feel very welcome.
