Surrounded by open moorlands, cobbled streets and acres worth of countryside, West Yorkshire is an exceptional base for that rural break.
Town: Hebden Bridge, a charming Pennine town in the Calderdale area, is home to the picturesque Rochdale Canal as well as a charming Victorian railway station. This beautiful area is the first town in the United Kingdom to participate in the Ramblers' Association-backed 'Walkers are Welcome' initiative, and it is surrounded by excellent walking country, including the National Trust-owned Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way. The second stage of the Tour de France in 2014, the Tour de Yorkshire in 2015, and the Tour de Yorkshire in 2018 all passed through the area, making it ideal for scenic drives and fabulous cycling opportunities.
