Loved it! Gorgeous clean and cosy room, lovely breakfast, wonderful staff
The customer who moaned about the breakfast …

Clean and very friendly beautiful food
Too far from Hendon bridge

Scaffolding all around the front and side, not like on photos inside dark entrance and little light inside ladies toilets not in use had to share mens toilet over priced drinks. a damp smell in and around the bar area and small rooms also said large double bed in our room which was right but mattress was a smaller double one leaving frame and slats showing went down for breakfast no one about I shouted no reply so we left keys on bar and left with no breakfast I was very disappointed with the place as in pictures a bright building inside and out but not what was on show that day

Excellent breakfast, fantastic location. Good atmosphere in the pub that evening, fantastic bitter and superb Thai cuisine
When booking confirmation came through it stated that the single room had a separate bathroom, when it was in fact (as stated) en-suite. This should be changed as it may put visitors off.
4.1
Excellent breakfast.
Old and very interesting building
Large room and bathroom, which is very rare
Great bus service into town
No parking - it wasn't very clear that the carpark was public carpark with a shocking entrance!!
No hooks in bathroom.
Very noisy street for a tiny village, cars pulled up outside with engine running, below our window. In fairness this could have been a one-off
Further out of town than we expected.

Hassle free, comfortable beds, good pint
Everything was good
4.1
Lovely old pub , amazing staff , so friendly, attentive and cool.
Set in a charming location
Not a don’t like but it is a small establishment so you can hear noise from other rooms at night so you need to be aware and ok with that …. I didn’t have a problem with it .
4.1
The breakfast was very good. Continental, fruit juice, fruit, coffee, tea, choice of cereals, choice of bread and everything needed. The chef also made us a delicious and massive full English

I liked that the rooms were above a very cosy pub frequented by locals. The room was comfortable, great shower. And the Thai food was excellent
4.1
The location is was great and the breakfast was pretty good.
The room booked was advertised as 'Delux Double Room with Bath'.
This description was totally misleading and inaccurate.
The en-suite bath room did have a bath but could not be used as such because the taps had been secured in such a way they only operated the shower head over the bath. The bathroom was quite large but without shelving of any kind to place and keep personal toiletries.
The double bed was so hard and lumpy sleep was almost impossible. The worst bed I have EVER tried to sleep in.
The room also contained a worn out sofa and a childs school desk.
Access to all four guest rooms from the bar area is via a steep and narrow staircase. In such an old building this was to be expected. The dirty and worn out carpet on these stairs was rather disgusting.

Loved the atmosphere and the history, and the room was very comfortable with nice touches. Great food and friendly staff.
Nothing.

No milk or sugar in room to go with tea / coffee

Quaint local pub in a beautiful setting. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I slept and ate well.

Location , room,
It was not made clear at booking this was a Thai menu only.
I don't like Thai food and there was no other options.
There was a pipe tapping through the night in the room which disturbed our sleep.
Whilst the staff were very pleasant and said they were relaxed sometimes it was annoying that they were busy hugging and chatting to locals and left you waiting for service.
4.1
location and room
breakfast - Luke warm overcooked food and packets of budget cereals left unattended.
room service- not cleaned - do we need to wash up our own cups ?
one hairdryer between all the rooms.

The village is amazing, the staff were friendly. the best part about our room was the shower.
we paid £120, it was far from deluxe as advertised, more little 2* the room was was tired, tatty and in need of a deep clean.
windows condensed
headboard scruffy scuffed.
TV tiny.
skirting boards dirty
window sill dirty
cob webs on ceiling
self service breakfast

Very friendly. Lovely outside area to the rear but could do with tidying up a little.
Staff lovely. Idyllic location but a walk or a bus into Hebden Bridge. Reasonable drinks price.
I think it could do with a little renovation on stairs and bedroom. Furniture a little dated.
Breakfast was cold from the way it is served. Self service. Very dated way. Not enough hot food for two people.
Staff on the breakfast shift watched over us instead of refreshing food. Felt a little uncomfortable.

The location is lovely.staff are very friendly especially the lady that cooks .Breakfast is very good .
In the room the bed was comfy . Shower was very good . The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness the windowsills in bathroom were dirty .
4.1
Location close to Hebden Bridge but very steep hills. Lovely village and my son and I cycled there from Manchester and were able to leave our bikes in their large shed in locked back yard area.
The weather! Not very good food choice. Cook is a Thai lady and food was all Thai dishes which was ok for us but will not suit all. Breakfast could have been better and a little overpriced considering location.
4.1
Breakfast was good, catering for vegan, vegetarian. Freshly cooked. Friendly, wonderful location.
Nothing.

Delicious Thai food
4.1
Nothing.
Kitchen opposite bedroom, strong cooking smell in room. Music playing in empty bar, I had to go to bar at midnight to ask them to turn it down. The person who booked me in was deliberately unfriendly to me.
4.1
The Thai food was great. The history of the pub was fascinating, and really friendly
4.1
Comfortable bed. That's about it.
Food: shouldn't the fact that the menu was all Thai have been flagged up in advance? Bar was very noisy - and that was before the live band started up, directly beneath our room. Breakfast: no fresh fruit, no real coffee (only instant), no croissants or pastries, no marmalade (only jam), and the hot breakfast options consisted of leathery bacon which had been kept warm for too long, soggy hash browns (ditto) and baked beans. All in a cheerless dining room.
4.1
Quite a walk to the public carpark, as the Cross Inn doesn't have a car park.
