I’m a simple man. I just care about a clean/comfy bed and a clean bathroom and this hotel was 5 stars on that! Yeah the building might need a bit a TLC but again, the most important basics were covered in excellence. I have to repeat the bed was extremely comfortable. I’d stay again for sure.
3.9
It was clean and quite comfortable (bed was far to low) but we were ground floor next to the exit door, which was constantly slamming as other guests departed. Friendly welcoming staff.
Would i stay again ? Possibly, but not for £96.
3.9
The room was small.
3.9
Great little boutique hotel with a pub downstairs. Don't show up before 3pm because no one will be there to check you in until 3pm.
3.9
Excellent location near restaurants, O2 academy, Edgbaston stadium, etc. Small single room, but exceptional value for money.
3.9
Junkies sat outside room window both nights i was there i have photis to prove it horrendous place
3.9
Good reception and for the price: cheap & cheerful.
3.9
Room was ok for one night stay, room basic with bed, few wall hooks and tv. En-suite had shower and toilet. There was a kettle and tea/coffee sachets. There was a dash window which opened onto fire escape but there was no lock on window so not sure how secure room would be. The hotel is above the pub but didn’t have problems with any noise. The electrics set up wasn’t very practical and although safe wasn’t ideal
3.9
Inexpensive clean but crowd outside stays up late and loud

I arrived at 2.40 and was told that I couldn't check in until 3( although whenever I've been anywhere else it's never been an issue). I was told that if I wanted to wait I'd have to buy a drink.
As soon as 3pm came around the same person said are you ready to check in now. Just totally pointless making me wait for the sake of it.
On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was a couple of slices of ham and cheese with a croissant but was ok
3.9
Lovely room with a comfy bed and free breakfast was great
3.9
I missed a breakfast. Saturday morning some employee did not appear e nothing was prepared for the guests
3.9
Clean room, small but perfect for a city break. Walking distance to pubs and city center.

Check-in was good; nice & easy. The member of staff checking us in was very friendly, welcoming & professional & gave great explanation of where to go, how to get in late-night & when breakfast was available.
The problem with breakfast is that, tho it was a 'free extra' or included in the price, it was only available on the Saturday. On the Sunday, we went downstairs 30-60 minutes before it was due to finish, to be told by a member of staff that breakfast wasn't available & I'm not quite sure why; he rather snarkily said that we hadn't paid extra for breakfast. I think someone wasn't in that day or that the shopping for breakfast hadn't been done? I would understand if it was a full fried breakfast, but it was continental, with a couple cereals, croissants, yoghurts, bread & not much more - so I'm unsure why this was beyond them to provide! On the Monday, we went downstairs earlier than we had on the Sunday & the door between the hotel & pub was locked! We just finished packing & went to McDonald's.
Room was fine, comfortable bed, good number of power points & well-functioning en-suite. We weren't bothered by excess light/sound & the temperature was fine. The steep stairs were a pain tho we should be fitter! The only problem was we had no wardrobe, or a rail, or even a coat hook to hang our clothes on! Not the end of the world to hang our suit bags over the chair, but a puzzling omission.
All in all fairly decent for the price, but we’d probably not stay again.

It was very nice of them to check me in so early, I really appreciate it. Very friendly, nice continental breakfast, the room is small but matches the price, bed comfortable, nice hot shower.
3.9
We have had a great stay, the owner is very kind and polite. We would definatly stay again
3.9
Small room but nice & clean

Stayed one night for a concert. Adequate enough for one nights sleep, but would’ve been uncomfortable for longer. City noise was unbearable with window that wouldn’t open or close properly. Ceiling light fell off and shower door came off the rails.
Bedding was a little stained also and the room was pretty dusty. That being said, it is a budget stay and you get what you pay for. Was fair enough for the price and for what we needed, but likely wouldn’t recommend for any longer than a night of literally just sleeping.
Downstairs bar was lovely though and employees were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating.
3.9
Traditional Pub, with refurbished rooms.
12 minutes walking distance from Birmingham New Street station. Doable with a small trolley. Not with heavy suit-cases.
Surrounding public city area not well maintained.
3.9
Great, helpful staff, tasty evening meal options, limited breakfast menu, no ventilation in the downstairs room, very noisy as close to the exit doors that slam each time somebody leaves the building.
3.9
The room was adequate, but the other guests made the stay very unpleasant. Loud, drunk guests slammed doors and yelled from midnight to 4:30am. It would be a fine place to stay if that’s also what you plan to do — but not a place to stay if you want a good night’s sleep!
3.9
Single room option. Warm water for shower. Comfortable bed. Simple complementary continental breakfast. Various choices to watch on TV stations & radio stations to listen to. Relaxing stay! Thanks & regards!

The hotel is very good service and clean

Lovely place for what we needed. Close to centre but an Uber ride from the utilita arena. This place is basic but for thenprice is fine. Beware the road is BUSY and NOISY ALL night!!

Room was clean plenty of towels, tea coffee and hairdryer in room.
Shower had a slight leak, but mopped up with towels and towels replaced.
Great central location.

The room was small but nice and warm for £50 i didnt expect much
The barman was very cute lol
I would have no hesitation on booking again

Quiet place inspite of being located near major highway.
Although room small it was nice and clean and very adequate for needs. Good continental breakfast.
Easy 10 minute walk from New Street station.
Only drawback was the narrow stairs - awkward to get suitcase up same.
3.9
I had an amazing experience. The room was clean and comfortable and there was central heating. The staff was also very friendly.
3.9
Great place to stay if you are going to 02 Academy, got a room on the top floor! Get those steps in! Really comfy bed! Only down thing no hot water in the morning, let the shower run for ages and shower door did not fit, so water all over the bathroom floor! Nice free breakfast!
3.9
Convenient location <10 min walk from train station
Great breakfast included in reasonable room price
Helpful and nice staff gave us guidance about getting around in Birmingham
The only thing is our room at road junction may be a bit noisy but okay for us
3.9
Very friendly and clean. About 10ish min walk to Bullring. Nice pub too.

hidden gem.....value for money
3.9
Room was comfortable, location was a bit noisy, but not the fault of the hotel. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
3.9
Friendly Staff
Abit noisy late at night
3.9
Mediocre. If you don't have big expectations, it's an adequate hotel. Close to the center, 10 minutes walking distance. You can also walk to Birmingham New Street station in 10-15 minutes. It is located in Chinatown and Gay Village.
3.9
Good location, close to city centre.
3.9
Single room extremely small
Also did not enjoy my meal in the 'restaurant'.
3.9
Convenient location, good price and pleasant staff.
