Very hard bed (like sleeping on the floor) and the fridge was not clean. In addition, the glass wall that separated the bathroom and bedroom had handprints from previous occupants. Left a day early because of the bed.
3.4
Dirty floors, dirty toilet, clog sink, walls extremely dirty with sticked gum and dirt

The property was great. We had issues checking in and the staff was very helpful and polite. There isn’t AC so it was hot, but they did provide a fan! The only complaint is housekeeping would knock on your door starting at 8am.

The rooms were quite nice, especially for the quite reasonable price. The rooms were very clean with a nice, modern bathroom. Centrally located in the old city was a big plus. Of course, like almost all hotel rooms in the old city, there is no air conditioning. Even so it wasn't uncomfortable to sleep on a hot July night
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the automated self check-in completely failed to work. The manager of the Japanese restaurant downstairs handled everything. She was very nice about it, but if we'd arrived when the restaurant was closed, i don't know what we'd have done.

The room has a very bad smell of sewage. We booked for 5 nights but had to leave after 2. Hotel refusing to refund the 3 nights. Hotel should not be allowed to operate with unhealthy facilities.
Recommended banning this hotel

Room can be more neat looking if it was updraded with new curtains and painted. Great locatiin and the sheets were very clean. I saw the hotel maid cleaning in the morning and may i add the sheets were folded so nice and crisp!
3.4
Floor not clean. TV did not work. No hotel staff on site. Was given the phone number of the owner but he did not answer messages. Eventually on the last day someone from the Japanese restaurant below got the TV to work for a few minutes, after which it stopped working again.

The location is perfect. The room is small but it was clean. The issue is the building is very old and the owners have not taken steps to update it in any way. The walls are thin, there’s no AC, wear and tear in the bathroom, dings and marks on the wall. Again, things felt sanitary in the room and someone came by daily to clean, but it is an old building that lacks in creature comfort. That said, the location can’t be beat. Check in is via an automated machine, Expedia has the listing wrong, you will not receive an email prior to arriving.

Self check in easy. Location great off square but can be noisy late at night and early in morning. Rooms little run down - fine if you want a cheap and easy hotel.

Stay away from this place! We checked in and immediately walking into the room the smell was disgusting! There was previous guests hair in the linens, face clothes and mold in the shower. The walls and floors are very thin so when other guests wake up you are up too.
The room we thought we were getting was not in the pictures. Very very small, zero view. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, very hard with zero cushion.
Definitely not worth the value whatsoever

It is in a very convenient location but the room is old and small and a bit dirty

The room had a horrible sewage smell from the drain in the bathroom

Clean room and easy check-in. Some may still find it hard if you are not tech savvy.

The self check-in was unique, but it was very easy to use. The room was a bit small but nice. Overall a great stay and friendly service.

Basic but all you need in a great location!
Self check in description on booking sounded complicated, but straight forward once you saw the machine.

First of all, if you need a concierge and room service, this isn’t the place for you. Self check in and rather spartan. One must hump their baggage up one flight to reach the elevator. That being said, the location is to die for. On Hirschenplatz Place, one square opens up to another and shopping corridors radiate in practicallly every direction. A bakery and coffee shop is steps away, and a number of dining options emerge as you explore. One of the old town’s covered bridges is just three (I’ll call them blocks) away. Everything is close by in the old town. There was some trouble for us and other guests checking in, but the gentlemen who runs the oriental restaurant lent his assistance. You can also check your bags at the restaurant if you arrive early. Room service freshens your accommodations daily.

Very small room and shower had mold around the bottom

Check in facile !

Very quite neighborhood in the old town just few minutes walk from the train station. The hotel is a minimalist with just a bed and 2 chairs and a table, a small wardrobe. The shower is very small as well. The bed was very hard, but after long days of walking we slept well. I enjoyed being in the neighborhood off of the main tourist area which would have been noisy. We slept with the windows open. The bakery across the square was very good for breakfast. Exploring the area at night was safe, though this is Switzerland and we always felt safe.
3.4
THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, BUT BECAUSE OF THE VERY LOW CEILING YOU DIDN'T HAVE MUCH ROOM. TO GET TO THE COFFEE MAKER YOU HAD TO PRACTICALLY GET ON YOUR KNEES. THE BED WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THERE WERE A LOT OF STAIRS TO GET TO THE ELEVATOR. THE BATHROOM WAS NICE.
3.4
It was a nice room but very small but it was sufficient. Very hard to find and hard to get to. Parking nearby was 36 CHF for tje night!
3.4
I enjoyed the time stay in here
3.4
Room was small but well appointed and we had an adorable view of the square.
3.4
Centrally located in Old Town
3.4
Good value in a great location.
3.4
Smelly and no hair dryer
3.4
The place is convenient and located near the Chapel Bridge but it gets noisy early in the morning at around 7.30am.

Great location

The hotel is exceptionally placed in the old town of Lucerne, with an excellent bakery 10 m away. Unfortunately, it’s not suited to heat waves. The fan was tiny and windows opened to a noisy, hourly church bell ringing square. So if you really need sleep, book somewhere with aircon. The self check in was efficient, but any further emails regarding broken showers and fridges went unanswered.

The lobby is a restaurant with worn dirty rug. The self check-in didn’t work and I paper posted on box said to ask a restaurant employee. The room was extremely dirty. The floors were blackened and there wasn’t even handsoap. The shower had mold around the bottom and splatter is some sort on the walls. The bed was a 3” foam mattress w 2 twin blankets laid out like sleeping bags on the king bed. There was a small fan in the room but we had to close the windows due to large drunk people outside of the hotel past midnight. Dirty dirty dirty hotel.

Great location

The location of this hotel is very convenient. However, the room we got was very small and stuffy all the time, but that is only because there is no AC and it was hot outside. It would be perfect for a solo traveler, two at most. The room had small windows that you can open, but the view was blocked by another building (not all of the rooms have this view). You could hear when people walked up the stairs outside the room and the people staying above us. Overall, it was not a bad experience for a two night stay.

Collected the key from the restaurant downstairs. The Japanese Auntie is very helpful. Location is best and lot of shopping and restaurants.
3.4
There is someone to assist in check-in if you arrive during the day. Be prepared to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs to reach the elevator. We were focused on value and location, and Hotel Le Stelle delivered.
When I had to go back to retrieve a forgotten item after check in, there was a process in place for that, even without someone on property, which was great!
A couple of things to be aware of:
1. The sign is the same color as the wall, so it can be hard to spot.
2. Taxis won’t drop off/pick up right at the hotel due to its location in a pedestrian area. If you have lots of bags, this means hauling your luggage further.
3.4
Good spot in town but it was loud. They were doing construction first thing in the morning. Room was hot. You couldn’t cool it down until the sun went down and the bathroom was leaking water under the toilet. Not to mention there was no soap to wash your hands. not my favorite place I’ve stayed in the city. Will be going elsewhere next time.
3.4
The self check in was a seamless process. The location is great and easy to walk to shops and restaurants. However, the shower head was awful, you can’t shower hands free, there’s nowhere to put your soap bottles and the water leaked out everywhere into the the bedroom floor so it was wet everywhere! You can also hear the ringing bell from a nearby church at night. There is a lift in the hotel but it is very slow so be aware you might need an extra few minutes to wait for it.
3.4
Convenient location, easy check in, but small room for 2, no view
3.4
It doesn't seems like pictures.
Good location but property isn't good
3.4
Decent basic accommodation. Perfect for a single night stay. Very well located.
