About this house rental
You will love this lake house retreat. This beautiful 3 bed 2 bath house is hidden on a quiet dead end street. The views from the dining room and back deck are breath taking. We offer access to 3 docks on the bayside of the street with the public boat launch just a half mile away. There is plenty of room for your boat. Our docks are available for your use year round however in the winter the water levels are low and may limit the access to the docks. The newly constructed 4 lane bridge is also a half mile away and offers a walking and biking trail that will take you over to the Land Between The Lakes National Park.
All linens are provided, the kitchen has all the basic pots and pans you need for every day cooking. If there is a specific pot or pan you need we suggest you bring it with you, this house is stocked like a vacation home. Free wifi is provided.(Password will be provided when you arrive). • The neighborhood is located on a dead end street and is usually very quiet. • Our neighbors’ kids play in the street so please drive with caution. • The grill is propane and the propane is provided. Bring a lighter as ours tend to walk off. • The outdoor grill is not cleaned by the cleaning staff, please clean up after yourself. Also, please excuse the last guest for not listening to the first part of this statement. • You are welcome to swim at the shore, or fish of any of the 3 docks you see. • The bottom of the lake is rocky and semi-muddy. I recommend wearing lake shoes. • Yes, you can fish from the shoreline. KY fish and game laws apply. • You can use my covered dock at the end of the street. • Everyone is welcome to come to the end of the street an use my lot at the end of the point. Your pets are welcome with an additional cleaning fee per pet. Our grocery stores are no comparison to the stores most are used to in the city. I am (almost) always available by phone or email. Our cell service isn’t always the best so please leave a voicemail if I do not answer.
With being on the lake there is always a chance of bugs, please understand we do everything we can to keep the outside of the house clean but sometimes it just is not possible. June, July, and August have what is called a Mayfly hatch occasionally, they do not bite and are good for fishing.

Great place to stay. Served all our needs. The house was very well equipped with towels, kitchen supplies. There was a KitchenAid mixer, blender, nice pots, and pans, plenty of utensils. Two grills on deck patio furniture. Extra lawn chairs. Nice appliances. Icemaker worked great. More than enough boat docs. We even got a covered one. Property manager lives three doors down. He took really good care of us. Had a few request he took care of them immediately.

Was a great place to stay, plenty of room. We had a great time on the lake, was able to rent a boat for the lake right there and plenty space to fish even if we didn’t catch anything…look forward to staying again

The property is exactly as described. It is very clean with lots of space inside & out. The lake is very nice & calm. Very easy to swim in off shore. We brought paddle board & spent one of the day just floating around & swimming in the bay. The host communication was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to friends & family.

Nice view of the lake, nice screened-in porch. Close to other places, for example, Bison and Elk Prairie. One complaint, not enough towel rods,

The maid service was poor. Not very clean and we had to do 2 loads of towels from previous renters. Nice location and easy access to lake and ramp. Outside property needs some cleaning.

The property was as pictured and clean. Nice quiet street and the home had plenty of space. We rented a pontoon and our 8 yr old grandson caught his first catfish, almost 3 lbs. !
Would have liked a tv in our grandsons room, but we knew when we rented there wasn’t one. I brought my laptop and he was able to watch streaming channels from the homes free internet/Wi-Fi.

We enjoyed our stay here. The house is exactly as described.
The free access to the boat docks was a plus. There's a boat ramp really close to the property which was nice.

This house is on a quiet dead end street, right on the water and close to Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. The manager was very responsive to our requests.

House is nice, & roomy, needs quite a few fairly minor repairs. Beach description misleading, not kid friendly.

Really enjoyed renting this spacious property. Loved the beautiful view of Lake Barkley from the screened-in porch as well as the deck. Owner was readily available to answer our inquiries. Owner also provided pontoon boats to enjoy at a reasonable price. Would definitely stay at this property again.

We really wanted to love this place. The great location, the beautiful views of the lake, the easy access to the water, it is all as described. So, if you are planning on spending all your time in, by, or on the water, this might work for you. If, however, you are also looking for indoor comforts, you might be disappointed.
Our biggest issues were the bedrooms. The room downstairs was extremely loud since the air conditioner is literally on the other side of the bed's headboard. I am not sure how anybody could get a good night's sleep there. My family couldn't.
The bunk bed frame is so squeaky that you can hear it throughout the entire house every time someone turns in that bed. I don't know how more than one person can sleep in that bed and get any rest.
Except for the room with the bunk bed, none of the rooms have bedside lamps. If you want to read an old fashioned book at night, you will have to do it with the overhead lights on. If you need to get up in the middle of the night, good luck finding the light switches on the wall. Nor ideal for kids or elderly people.
The bedside lamps are certainly not a huge issue but representative of the overall lack of TLC. This house could be a real gem but needs some serious attention, starting with a deep cleaning (think cabinet and closet door, floor boards, THE SCREENED-IN PORCH!). Making sure that the doors fit well into their frames might also prevent mice in the house. Not my idea of a relaxing vacation to start the day by cleaning mouse droppings off the kitchen counter.
To summarize, we were determined to have a good time and we did -- but it shouldn't have taken such effort.
Btw, the property manager was very responsive and immediately took care of issues that we reported to him; namely, those issues that could easily be addressed (Obviously, he couldn't have done anything about the location of the air conditioner, etc.).

Our family of four takes our two grandparents to this or neighboring lake properties every 4th of July weekend. Lucas never fails to deliver a great, hassle-free renting experience. Recommend the BBQ at Greg's Grill and ice cream at Lake Barkley Marina. Good summer fun!

We were very happy with this property. The view of the lake is lovely and we spent a lot of time by the water. We especially appreciated the screened in porch, the ice maker and the good internet!

The view and the multi-levels of decking allowed us to enjoy the lake and not be cramped! We had some squirrels visit us on the screen in porch as they had a nest in the rafter (or maybe we visited them). Manager was very quick so acknowledge them. Open floor plan was nice. Very clean. The basement was very cold (we had temps in the 40’s - 60’s) and no matter what we did on the thermostat it remained cold. You may want to pack extra blankets! Otherwise, we enjoy our stay and would go back!

Nice place to just hang out after a day of fishing or exploring the area. Clean and comfortable and private enough without feeling completely out in the boonies.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The location is perfect for us. River views and we love the cove as well. Communication with the property owner and check
In was easy. The front door entrance was a mess due to a birds nest on the front porch. The kitchen sink leaked twice while we were there which was a huge nuisance. Lucas fixed it once and then it broke again. Just a suggestion to the propert owner. Go the extra mile and fix that the right way so future guests won’t have the same issues we did. The view of the cove and the ability to walk right down to the river is awesome. Overall we enjoyed ourselves. Dealing with the broken sink was inconvenient and frustrating but we made the best of it. The wildlife was awesome. If you love Bald Eagles you’ll see some for sure.

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at the lake house and really enjoyed it. The location was great, the view was wonderful and the house had everything we needed for a great weekend. The only issue we had while there was the basement was pretty chilly compared to the upstairs but it was manageable with extra blankets on the bed for sleeping. Overall it was a great trip and somewhere we would absolutely visit again! The host was very helpful as well. I messaged on the day we were to arrive that our arrival time would be later than expected and they had the house lights turned on and ready for us when we got there so we didn't have to walk into a dark house that night. Very thoughtful!

Our experience was great. The house was extremely clean, decorated nicely, comfortable and fun to spend time in. The screened-in porch on the back with the lake view was perfect for early morning coffee and late game nights. We loved the large decks on the front and back, along with the large yard. Kayaks were available upon request. The neighborhood was safe and friendly. It was a quick drive to anything you needed.
Lucas was quick to respond and very helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. Great stay!

Nice relaxing few days. Quiet neighborhood. Easy access to lake. Well stocked. Rented pontoon from the property manager that was few doors down. Easy process. Enjoyed our time on the lake but I will say if you don’t know lake Barkley it isn’t easy to navigate to avoid shallow areas. Loved all the hummingbirds around. Would stay again.

Keith was very helpful eradicating the wasps under the deck and porch area. Evan was always around to answer questions and help out. He supplied us with a fantastic pontoon and tube one day and kayaks and canoes another day. Your helpers are top notch.
Thanks you so much for a wonderful week.

My husband and I stayed at this house for a short getaway for our anniversary. Nice view of the lake everyday, my husband fished some, we watched movies and just relaxed. Had everything we needed! We cooked breakfast every morning and grilled out lunch/supper!!
Thanks for a great anniversary getaway!!

House was easy to get to, we rented multiples 270/296. Owners/managers have multiple on the same road. Lucas was very attentive and close by when needed. No issues. Check in and out was painless. There is a driveway at the point to get closer to the water if the hill is an issue for elderly or those with bad knees.

The house was very clean when we arrived, and check-in couldn't have been easier. The house is appointed economically, so don't expect anything high-end. Everything works, but items are worn. Also, there's a bonus bed that wasn't in the listing! There's a 5th bed in the basement under the staircase. It's a twin bed and large enough for a grown adult.
Lucas, the property manager is great! He was quick to respond to all of our requests. He gave us some great advice on places and activities to try in the area.
We also rented a pontoon boat from the associated Enjoy Lake Barkley. The pontoon was rather weathered and could use some upholstery repair, but it ran well and got us where we needed to get to. Having the gas topped off every day included in the price is really great!
Overall, I would recommend this property, just making sure you have the right expectations.

First of all let me say the property manager was very helpful in trying to fix a lot of things that were broke in this house and even said to me”Of all the houses I manage, people complain about this one the most”. The homeowner needs to repair a bunch of stuff before someone else pays over $1600 a week to stay here. Basement bedroom, mattress is like a taco, terrible, weird odor coming from the basement bathroom, no bedside table to put your things on, upstairs, washer dial broke, dryer quit in the middle of drying clothes and would not come back on, back bedroom fan making a rattling noise when on, frying pan in kitchen with leftover food in it, faucets loose in kitchen and downstairs bathroom, screened in porch door missing, one kitchen chair came apart that we fixed, not enough outlets to plug in the vcr so I left my extension cord behind for the next person, a tiny coffee pot and a tiny garbage can in the kitchen which was constantly being refilled or emptied due to 5 people staying there., no gas for the grill, property manager had to go get one.The mattresses and bathroom upstairs was ok. Personally I feel if you pay over $1600 to stay a week, you should not have to deal with all these concerns although I know things do happen but not this much! We have stayed in multiple VRBO places for vacations in the past and never had this many concerns. We will definitely not be booking this place again.

Great little house with plenty of sleep options for larger groups. Screened in porch, covered front porch, lots of parking, beautiful lot and well kept street. Boat rentals are very reasonable and the lake is awesome. Lucas is an interesting fella if you have the chance to engage him in conversation! When we come back to Barkley Lake, we will surely rent one of his properties.

We really enjoyed the house. It was very clean when we arrived. There were a few small issues through the week, which can happen anywhere anytime and nothing that interfered with our vacation. The property manager was very quick to resolve any issues and was easy to communicate with. The house had all the essentials. It was a beautiful area to stay. We also rented a pontoon from the property manager which was great fun and a very easy process.

The cottage was very clean and cozy, and located in a quiet, tucked-away neighborhood. We only used the upstairs so cannot speak for the downstairs area, but the bed in the upstairs room was nice and comfortable. The view was nice, the kitchen well-stocked, and we received a quick response from the owner in regards to a question we had regarding parking our trailer. The location was great for us as we spent a full day at Turkey Bay, but were also close to the other activities such as the elk and bison prairie, the Homestead, and hiking. It was a great place for a relaxing weekend getaway.

A lot of broken things at this property. Front porch lights did not work, back yard lights did not work. Kitchen main light didn't work. The fan in the spare bedroom was broken, my husband had to fix it in order to turn the fan off that was right above the bunk beds. Our friends also told us there were multiple lights in the basement that didn't work and the toilet seat was broken.
