About this villa rental
We love spending time in our Villa. One can spend days at a time without going out & simply bathing in the pool, relaxing in the garden in the sun or the shade, reading from our huge supply of books & dining on the three terraces. It is so very relaxing. There is plenty of sightseeing within the mediaeval and18th century town and all accessible on foot. There are so many activities & sights around & about in the countryside. There are small family-run vineyards to be found all around the area where visitors are welcome to taste the wines. Evenings in town, eating out at the many street & square restaurants, is a wonderful way of enjoying the atmosphere. I hope that the reader can understand why we do so love this place.
Built in the typical 'bastide' style of Provence, this modern villa is situated in a quiet location on the slopes of a gentle hill on the outskirts of the beautiful mediaeval Duchy of Uzes, giving it lovely views. It is the owners' 2nd home.
The town lies close to the River Gardon and the famous 2000-year-old Pont du Gard. The area gives an authentic taste of the Midi, with its rolling hills and vineyards, its Roman remains and the hot sun.
The villa is a 12 - 15 minute walk to the town centre. It is light and spacious, being very comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard.
The layout is unusual with the bedrooms and bathrooms in three separate areas in the villa, all leading to the central living room and kitchen/diner with its long covered terrace. A plan of the layout is to be found on the photo page.
The garden is about 1/3 of an acre (approximately 1450 square metres), mainly laid to lawn with masses of shrubs and many trees. The 60 sq m pool is at the centre of the main lawn and is 'L' shaped. The length is 11.5 metres & the width is 4.5 metres. It is 2 metres deep at the villa end and 1 metre deep at the shallow end. There is a 2.5 metres square beach area at the shallow end, which runs from 10 centimetres deep at the edge to 70 centimetres deep at the point where it takes a 30 cms step down into the main pool.
The pool is overlooked by a 19 sq m covered terrace with a long dining table and seating for 12 and gas & charcoal BBQs

Lovely well equipped villa with superb pool. Fifteen minute walk into beautiful Uzès and close to numerous other attractions. Highly recommend.

Really lovely villa with pool. We were 6 adults and we all thought the place perfect. Spacious, well equipped with a great pool. We also had the advantage of wall to wall sunshine for the week. A short 15minute walk to the town centre. Overall would highly recommend.

The house was lovely and roomy but the most special aspect was the garden. The pool is beautiful and kept at a nice temperature for swimming and the garden was full of blooms. Truly a gorgeous setting. And the house boasts air conditioning which was a very nice feature!

We stayed the second time for 2 weeks in Elisabeth's house and it was again a wonderful holiday. We were 5 adults and 3 children. The pool was wonderful, the children and adults had a lot of fun with it. The rest of the house is also great and you have everything you need. The arrival and departure are very well organised, Elisabeth takes care of the guests' well-being and Stéphy (the on-site manager) is always there to help with any questions.
We hope to be able to come back soon.

We had a very good stay at the house, which was fully equipped and comfortable. The warm swimming pool (33°) was fantastic, and airco on the other side was very much needed as temperatures were around 38° when we stayed there. For us, 6 adults, it was a fantastic stay.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely location. I loved the view from our bedroom upstairs and the pool was a real hit!
It really feels like you are staying in someone’s home rather than a holiday rental - lovely vibe and facilities so comfortable.

We stayed at Elisabeth’s villa in Uzés for the last week of 2017 and loved every minute of it! The entire house was very comfortable even for our group of 9 adults! Spacious and clean, and conveniently located - close to many interesting sites, all of them very charming even in winter! The living room is very cozy (nice little fire place!) and the kitchen is large and has all the things you need to cook. The host was easy to communicate with and their is a great binder of recommendations. Wished we had booked a longer stay!

We have had the pleasure of staying twice at Elisabeth's delightful Villa. It is very well furnished and well kept with a spacious sitting room fully equipped kitchen and good sized bedrooms. Everything works with lots of fridges/ freezers and is spotlessly clean on arrival. The house has morning and evening terraces, the latter going onto the garden and the swimming pool. The pool is a good size and set in a delightful garden which is very private despite the proximity of other houses. On our second visit the house was full to capacity but did not feel crowded (we were 10 adults and 2 young children). The friendly house manager lives just over the road and is only too willing to sort out any problems.
A particular advantage of the villa is that it is only about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Uzes which is delightful and has an abundant supply of shops, restaurants, cafes etc. The centre is a pedestrianised medieval city with squares that host popular markets twice a week. There are two big supermarkets on the outskirts.
The old adage that you won't want to leave once you are here applies and with everything on the doorstep you don't have to but Avignon, Nimes and the Pont du Gard are all nearby.
Overall a lovely villa with an excellent pool with everything you need close to hand and which we highly recommend.

This villa was exactly as advertised, spacious, welcoming and well maintained. There was plenty of room for our extended family group (five adults, two four-year-olds). The wonderful pool and effective air-con were particularly welcome as temperatures reached 35c most days.
Uzes is an attractive town, and the centre is about 15 mins walk from the villa (fine, except during the hottest parts of the day). Although the one-way, often busy ring road presented some initial challenges, we orientated ourselves after a couple of days and enjoyed the excellent market, shops and many restaurants and cafes; other tourist attractions include a castle, cathedral, medieval garden and the Haribo museum. Slightly further afield, we also enjoyed visits to Lussan, Castillon-du-Gard and the Pont du Gard. We didn't travel far on this visit, but hope to return and explore the wider area once our children are a bit older.
Thank you Elisabeth for letting us stay in your beautiful house. (It was particularly nice having a piano to play!)

Our large family group of 8 Adults, and 3 young children have had a marvellous 2 weeks here, with plenty of space, particularly outside where there are 3 separate sitting areas as well as loungers around the pool, surrounded by a beautiful private garden. I must mention that the saltwater pool is the best we have experienced in 4 successive villa holidays in France, and the beach entrance removed the fear of the younger children as they could gently work their way into the pool.
This was also a very big advantage to my adult daughter who is a wheelchair user and unable to stand or walk - she could also slowly work her way in.
We were a bit concerned about how Ruth would be able to cope, but the bedroom downstairs was fine and benefitted from having a wet room shower.
We were lucky enough to be in Uzes on Bastille Day, and the firework display, viewed from the upstairs bedroom was truly amazing.
I must take this opportunity to thank Claude, who is always ready to help and is a really amiable chap and every inch a true Frenchman. A big thank you from all of us.
Uzes itself is lively and vibrant, with lots of narrow interesting streets, and many wonderful shops and cafes. Unanimously agreed by all of us as our favourite French town to date beating Cognac and Carcassonne (in our opinion).
During our stay we never saw rain, and the sun shone all day every day.
On my last day at 7am I sat by the pool and watched 2 hot air balloons slowly make their way over our villa, and the only sound was the intermittent noise of heated air being pumped in.
What a lasting memory, and what a great holiday.

We are a family of ten spanning three generations, including two young children and two babies. This was the third time we had holidayed in France in recent years, so we knew what we were looking for/needed.
Before booking I had discussed our needs with Elisabeth, the owner, who was very helpful from start to finish.
The villa has good accomodation, very comfortable and is well equipped. The pool is exceptional and as a result of all this we spent a lot of time at the villa. During the stay the local 'helper' Claude made you feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for him.
Uzes itself is a lovely medieval town, which we visited several times. We also visited Nimes for the Roman Amphitheatre, Agues Mortes, St Quentin la Poterie and the Haribo Museum on the pretence it was for the kids!
Overall a lovely holiday, also helped by the weather and we were all very sorry it was only for a week.

I celebrated my 60th birthday with some friends at Elizabeth's lovely villa. I couldn't have picked a better place. The villa was perfect for us - 8 adults - large, so relaxing and just what we needed. It is fantastic to have a pool where you can have a proper swim and the garden is mature and so colourful. The house is great - so many bathrooms and lovely terraces.
Claude and his wife Anik welcomed us and were very helpful indeed.
Uzes is a wonderful town. I had visited before but for my friends it was the first time and they loved it. We had quite a lazy time but there are lots of places to visit in the area.
A great choice!
2.5
We hired this villa with a view to having a family get together with three generations from us older folks to two little toddlers (4 & 18 months) and this ticked every box.
Plenty of room and facilities for the ten of us, a pool that was good enough for adults to stretch out and swim in but was great for the nippers as well and a well equipped kitchen and barbecues etc for us to be able to cook for ourselves with no problem.
Claude is a genuinely nice man who shows you around the place and tolerated my schoolboy French without flinching.
It is a ten minute walk into Uzes which is a fabulous place and a short drive to the Pont du Gard and an even shorter drive to the Haribo museum. For a longer day out, the Carmargue National Park is a must, but then we love wildlife.
For supplies it's only five minutes drive to the Intermarche, which has everything you will ever need food and drink wise.
To cap it all, Elisabeth has been very responsive and helpful with all our questions and queries, and we can't thank her enough for facilitating such a terrific family holiday
2.5
After looking at many different houses for our holiday, the detailed description of this one was extremely helpful in making our choice, and the photos gave a very good idea of what to expect - though I would say that the place looks even nicer in real life! Booking was easy. After my initial enquiry, Elisabeth got in touch with me almost straightaway, and any questions I had both before and after booking were always answered quickly. And once we were at the house, Claude was extremely helpful if there was anything we needed.
The house itself was well equipped and very comfortable inside, with plenty of room. The air conditioning, which had also been recently installed in the bedrooms, was an added bonus and most welcome. Though, of course, if was the fabulous pool and garden where we spent most of our time, and we ate out on the terrace every evening.
The town of Uzes was a wonderful place to explore for both shoppers and history lovers alike. As it's a very reasonable walk from the house we managed to drag ourselves away from the pool most days to go and have a wander around and some refreshment! We also went a little further afield on a couple of days and enjoyed visiting the Pont du Gard and St-Quentin-La-Poterie. We plan to do more when we, hopefully, visit again next summer.
All in all, wonderful place to stay, which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
