My main advice to my friends visiting Huaraz - stay here. Chris (the owner) is extremely friendly and has so much local knowledge. I was able to plan all my trips with him. The hostel is really clean and cosy - with a fireplace, great beds and huge terrace to chill and watch the sunset. In my 3+ months traveling, Chris has been the best host. Thank you :)

Really nice atmosphere with a lot of backpackers. The host (Chris) also offers great support with organizing your hikes!
The private room and common room were clean. And there was a cool roof terrace.
The matrass is fine for a hostel. You don't experience many noise from other rooms, at least at the 3rd floor.
The center is 10 min away, but be aware of the climb back to the hostel at this altitude.
The pillows were a bit basic and we would have liked an extra towel. The cooking pans could use an update.
Sometimes there is no hot water and the street traffic is loud, but that is common in Huaraz.

Chris ist sehr hilfsbereit und weiss über Touren Bescheid! Die Unterkunft mit dem Cheminée ist sehr gemütlich und gut gelegen! Alles zu Fuss erreichbar!

The staff was very friendly and treated us like family and friends. The atmosphere of the hotel was very nice
Small space in the dormitory. About a 12 minute walk from the center square.

Such a great hostel! The guys running it are really friendly and helpful with booking hikes! We were quite sick with altitude so they really helped accommodate us. Great value for money

This hostel is so cozy! I loved the common area, it’s small but nice. the kitchen is well equipped, we got the private room with Mountain View and don’t have anything to complain about that either. Shout out to Chris as well who helped us organize a lot of hikes. the vibes at this hostel are immaculate

Comfy bed, wondeful hot shower! Nice people and met great friends there. Loved the fireplace.
No garden or place with a sun to chill except a small terrace.

Chris and his mom (the owners) are the nicest people and they really make the hostel feel like home. I initially booked two nights but stayed for 6. Chris knows everything about the mountains and each night he makes sure everyone knows what their plans are and helps with orginizing and acclimating.
The vibe was very cool and chill, quite and friendly with lots of travelers from all over the world.
Rooms are simple but comfortable!
The shared bathroom could be cleaner but not by a lot:)

Christopher and his mom were both super nice and welcoming. we booked 3 day trips with him and it was great!
location is good but not great. we stayed at a room in the basement so it was not very pleasant and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room.

Amazing place: cozy and home-y. Chris is a walking guidebook. Amazing host and great advice on what to do while in the area.

The staff was absolutely lovely, so kind and helpful. Chris helped us plan out all our hikes. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious enough. The common area was nice and we could easily meet other travelers. The location is good, we walked everywhere from there.
Sometimes the hot water would run out in the evening. The kitchen was not the most equipped but it served its purpose.

The hosts were lovely, accommodating and helped us book a very reasonably priced tour.
The rooms and bathroom facilities were very basic. The room we were in downstairs was very cold.

Chris is an absolut legend!
He and his mom run the hostel together and make sure you have a great time in Huaraz. They have all the information about tours, hikes and mountaineering. I would strongly recommend to book tours to Laguna 69 and Paron with them. We compared prices and they are by far the cheapest.
In addition, the hostel is really nice and has an incredible rooftop with unbelievable views. You can see the highest mountain of Peru and enjoy a freshly brewed coca tea.
Also it is worth mentioning that Chris speaks English perfectly which makes things much easier if you are not fluent in Spanish.
Whenever we are back in Huaraz we will definitely stay at their place again and climb some 6000s with Chris as our guide. Already looking forward to it!
Nothing, everything up to standard!

Easy to organise activities through the hostel
Good socially, lots of solo travelers
Decent kitchen
No curtains on the beds for privacy, but this isn't the end of the world
No lockers in the rooms (although didn't feel uncomfortable leaving my bags out)

Owner super helpful and knowledgable with planning your stay in Huaraz. The rest of the staff are very nice and helpful as well. Hostel is very sociable and meeting other travelers is easy and fun.
Hot water runs out in the evening.

The staff and the guests at Kame House made me feel so welcome and created a home atmosphere away from home. I made good friends there and I will definitely return. In the evenings we sat around the open fire which was so great. Chris was very helpful with the hikes and gave good advice for the acclimitisation. Chris’ mum is the sweetest person ever and treated me like family.
I liked everything but I wish there was real good coffee at the hostel because I am coffee addict :)

Even though my room was facing the street it was very quiet
The shower had hot water.

Chris and his parents are the nicest and most helpful staff I have had in any hostel! Chris helped a lot with planning of different tours, taking us rock climbing, making us all feeling like home, and always wanting to know if he in any way could help.

Kitchen could be a little cleaner and with more tools to use .
