We love this historic hotel with character & beautiful location!

Staff was rude. First of all, before I booked, I called and ask if parking on premises was available and they said yes. Not true! Parking is 2 1/2 blocks away. Very inconvenient to unload your bags and then having to walk back to the hotel the 2+ blocks. The internet was very unstable and 80% of the time didn’t work in the room. When I asked the lady up front about the internet, her reply was “very weird, it works on my phone” she never even looked at my eyes. The shower floods the whole bathroom in the roof I was staying regardless how you aimed the shower head. The whole experience was very disappointing.

I had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1 because i couldn't sleep because of all the mosquitos in the room. The hotel is dirty and old. The car park is about 3 blocks away. The worst place that i have stayed in. Please don't waste your money here.

It was a nice enough hotel and very convenient as it’s close to everything by the main plaza.
My only complaint is that there wasn’t hot running water. It was lukewarm at best.

I enjoyed the surrounding areas. The park in front was nice. I made 2 separate bookings. One for 2 rooms. According to Expedia they both were advertised as having king size beds. Unfortunately the rooms we received had only one double bed. Reception told me that is what they had upon our check in. The second nights booking was correct as to the description of what I had reserved. It had a king size bed! We did love the location and most of the staff appeared to be pleasant and professional..We would return again.. Expedia take a look at your room descriptions.

The property is very old and outdated.. the younger woman night attendant is awful and doesn’t want to do anything.. they advertise a shuttle but there isn’t one.. the room walls are disgusting the floors as well.. the older woman with glasses was very compassionate and helpful trying to change my room as when I asked young woman pm attendant she said all rooms are the same.. no English channels on tv .. ac is not great..no hot water .. the pool looks like you will catch a disease if you swim in it..didn’t eat at the hotel since there was no hot water in the hotel..the location was excellent .. the hotel was fairly quite..Merida is very safe

Parking lot was to far from property, there was no way to drop off the suitcases and take the car to the parking lot, no hot water in the room, I reported it to the receptionist and nothing was done about it, there was no way to communicate with receptionist, it was raining and we had to walk to reception to report the issue with the water, TV didn’t work, ETC pretty upsetting, never again

We arrived early and could not get a room until check in so since it was so hot we went up to pool to cool down and wait until our rooms were ready. Pool was nice but there was no shade! In the hours we were there we were in the direct sun. They do not sell any food or drinks in hotel. Had to go to store and buy water to hydrate. Rooms were ok. Floors looked dirty but realized they were stained. Towels were clean but hard. Toilets were out of order for two days on and off. When we complained the lady at front desk was rather rude and said nothing they can do, just wait. Luckily, we were on tours but still a major no, no. Gave me breakfast coupon to compensate the inconvenience but only after we made a big deal about it. Breakfast was ok had no creamer for coffee. The area surrounding the hotel was excellent. Close to restaurants, convenient stores, museums, nightlife and transportation. Sorry would not recommend.

Property is quaint but a bit outdated. Reception lacking customer service skills. Shift supervisor very rude, no people skills. Pool area lacking some shade and can use some additional lawn chairs. Woke up on our first night to no water running, had to go to the local store and buy water bottles to use the bathroom while water was restored at 3pm. Was given a free complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience. Food was good. Location is great, centrally located next to Starbucks and Ice Cream Parlor. The hotel restaurant is only open for breakfast. They do not have mini fridge in rooms but do let you check out beach towels for the day.

Historical and beautiful jewel in the heart of Merida. Parks, restaurants and places to shop all around. The pool is a nice necessary touch to refresh after being out in the heat. It has all you need to enjoy a quiet time and relax after being out on tours.

Hotel property poor customer service. First room ..toilet damaged. So we moved and second room was leaking, but asked them just bring towels. No breakfast included in price and I told them the ad said free breakfast. I will not argue with anyone about this. We went out to eat breakfast since I was going to spend monies anyways. One person.. Victor was very very helpful each and every time we needed anything. Other than that.. it’s misleading.

Great location. Rooms are very small with little storage. Needs an upgrade of room. 4 chairs at pool. 3 were broken. Talked to desk about it, no response.

Quaint and charming hotel. Excellent location. The pool area needs new chairs as they are all broken. Otherwise excellent stay!

The location of the hotel is great. A block from the main square. I must have gotten the worst room in the house. It was on a dark hallway with no other rooms on it. A room numbered 37, across the hall, was actually a utility area which meant I had lots of talking in front of my door early in the morning. My front door jammed on the floor and could not be completely opened. The bathroom had a cracked wall in the shower stall and the door to the shower stall would not close.
A pretty sad looking room. Number 35
The common areas were very nice.
The staff at the front desk were very disinterested. I would say, the least friendly group in town. I am a Spanish speaker so it was not a language barrier. It was an interest barrier.
I would not go back to this hotel, sorry

Nice quaint hotel, the only complaints we had were the wifi, many times it dropped you , they had 2 but most times you couldn’t join the other
The other was hot water, in the morning and evenings, you would be lucky to get warm water. We found 2 in the afternoon you could get much warmer water.
Other than that a very nice place to spend a few days

The hotel is located on a quiet 'plaza' one block away from the Grand Plaza. It feels European and quaint, with old world charm.

The bathroom was terrible. Lack of hot water. Wifi is very very poor
Noisy in the early hours
The hotel asked for payment when we had paid in advance

Nice, quiet hotel in the center of Merida, walkable to most destinations in the city. The courtyard is lush and beautiful, and the small pool on the roof was great for hot afternoons.

Fantastic location close to central plaza. Only warning is that if you have a rental car, the hotel has no parking on site. It’s a 4 block hike to get to the parking lot they use.
