A beautiful place with impeccable service. Our dinner was fantastic.
2.5 / 5.0
Hintlesham Hall was an extravagance for us, but worth every penny. We stayed in a very large room in the stable block with a sofa and easy chair. The service in the hotel was excellent, attentive (but not too much!) Breakfasts were good and the dinners excellent - consistently good food across the menu - three of us ate three dinners and everything we chose was beautifully cooked and presented. The grounds are lovely, and it would be great to sit outside at a warmer time of year. There were several lovely rooms to sit indoors, though. The afternoon teas looked delicious, but as we had eaten so well at breakfast we enjoyed delicious tea and scones to tide us over until dinner. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Stay was ok . Room is overpriced, maybe 10 years ago it
Could justify that price but dated and needs certain upgrades.
Food expensive and
Not really value for money. Staff good and friendly

Absolutely fabulous hotel, really beautiful building and grounds

A beautiful period building in a beautiful location.
Furnishing and decor sympathetically in keeping with the period in history.
The welcome was warm and friendly.
The bedroom was well equipped and comfortable although the provision of toiletries was minimal for a stay of more than one day/night.
A hair dryer was provided but not situated conveniently to an electrical socket.
One of the radiators had been leaking making the carpet wet which not pleasant underfoot. When this was pointed out a space heater was placed in the room however this was non-functional.
In the dining room the dinner was, on the whole, tasty and beautifully presented.
When the waiting staff were asked specifics about the dishes they were ill-informed, saying either, 'I don't like the particular item' or, I don't know the composition' of certain dishes !
Items which had been ordered had been forgotten therefore the staff had to be reminded.
The halibut was overcooked and quite dry.
At breakfast the fruit was, disappointingly, not fresh.
The pancakes and scrambled eggs were barely warm, the eggs delivered swiftly as if it had been already cooked and held in that state. Also tasting as if produced from dried, or similar, egg. It was definitely not made from freshly cracked eggs.
One of the most delightful features of our stay was the wonderful gentle piano playing, by the lady in the entrance conservatory.
I am bound to say that, having read the rating, I was expecting more attention to detail.

Had a 1 night stay here for work purposes.
Hotel was really nice & clean throughout with friendly staff from arrival to check out.
The room i stayed in was a good size with a large ensuite bathroom, coffee machine & pods & a good sized comfy bed.
I didnt eat in the hotel so cant comment on the food but it did smell nice however i did have a drink in the lounge area which was again a nice comfortable place to sit & relax. Would happily stay here again should i be in the area again either for work or pleasure.

The hotel building is quite grand with some beautiful features however it is a little ‘post covid’ with tired decor, too few staff and neglected gardens.
The first small bedroom we were offered was decorated in full on vivid lilac, not a colour that appeals to everyone, certainly not us. We paid an extra £30 for a larger neutral colour room, with a tired very poorly designed bathroom.
Our afternoon tea was good and generous, however having booked, we didn’t seem to be expected, the service was rather slow. Breakfast was good, when it arrived.
This hotel seems to be trying to gain customers with its wedding packages and theme nights etc. but it all seems rather stuck in the 1980s. The customer service needs to improve. There are no lifts and many stairs and different floor levels so not suitable for anyone with disabilities. I don’t think we’d return.

What an amazing find, beautiful surroundings, friendly welcoming team, excellent food and service, everything you could need in the lovely room (especially liked the tea selection and biscuits!) lots of great areas and sitting rooms to sit and enjoy Hintlesham Hall. We can’t wait to visit again.

Was upgraded. Excellent staff and service. Food exceptional.

Nice hotel, clean. Breakfast was excellent.
Bathroom was a little dated, the shower flow was poor and temperature control inconsistent.
It was obvious from looking at the fire escape map and seeing inside other rooms where the door had been left open, that we were given a very basic room. The hotel was nearly empty, but despite the fact we were there for several nights, there was no generosity shown.
A word of warning. If you are given the "Steamers" or "Carnival" room, you will be above the reception and the entrance door slams with a loud bang on every arrival and departure. Fortunately for us the hotel did not have many guests.

Food was great but the rooms are dated bathroom need updating and not really a spa on site just massage and nails

We had a lovely one night stay at the property. The food in the restaurant was spectacular both at dinner and breakfast. The staff are all so friendly and down to earth. We stayed in a principal double and the room was spacious, spotless and very quiet. We enjoyed it so much, we booked to stay again as soon as arrived home!

The person who gave it 4 stars did not stay in my room. The carpet was filthy, covered in stains and obvious dirt from time, not recently cleaned. There was a hardened biscuit stuck to one of the coffee cups. It came off when I scratched it. I have a picture. I left feedback and have not heard from them at all so posting this. A refund would be good as I was very disappointed for a 4 star rated hotel.

i am asked to give opinion of the Hintlesham Hall Hotel based upon a one night stay with my wife.
We were there for lunch on the 1st January but were unable to check in until after 3pm which is rather late especially when check out is no later than 11am. The lunch food and service was very good. Upon arrival to our Superior Room, which was nice and cosy, the heating was off and a small electric heater was in the room to compensate. Heating is timed with little consideration to the weather. There was a separate WC in the same hallway to the bathroom. The WC had no wash hand basin and to wash after going to the toilet and one has to go to the bathroom. I recommend upon the basis of hygiene that a hand basin be fitted in the separate WC. Certainly we would return to the Hotel for short breaks and will be lunching there on the 14th January with friends to celebrate my birthday so given the minimal criticism I would recommend the Hotel for it's welcoming charm, good food and excellent service. If we stay there again, which is very likely, I would favour an alternative room to Rialto and one similar to the room shown in the advertisement of Superior Rooms and facing to the front of the Hotel.

Staying here is a little taster of opulence, and to wander around the rooms is like a small tour of a stately home.
The only complaint we had was that it was overheated!

I could not recommend Hintlesham enough, from the staff, to the appointment of the rooms, to the location and a magnificent menu for dinner, not to forget the Spa. I had a wonderful stay.
3.0 / 5.0
Lovely hotel with fantastic facilities and excellent staff. Dinner was delicious. However, it was very noisy all night with chairs being moved (possibly by the cleaning staff) so sadly I could not recommend this hotel (the noise was definitely not other guests and went from around 10pm until 5am on and off).

Superb stay in a fabulous location full of history and old character charm.
Excellent food and drink is on offer.
A real bonus are the three EV charging points

We had a lovely.room in the stable.block as we had a dog. Ground floor eith outside space.
Breakfast had a good choice and freshly made hot food as well as a small buffet.
Lovely grounds.
Staff very accommodating as far as our dog was concerned. Ate breakfast in the lounge at a special table with the dog as main restaurant obviously does not allow them.
My only little comment would be that I feel a small bowl of crisps or nuts when you have a drink in the bar or on the terrace would be a nice touch. This is a 4 star hotel and I would expect this.
4.0 / 5.0
The property is wonderful with great grounds and beautiful setting.
However the hotel seems to be run on a skeleton staff which needs to be addressed. The staff do their best but with weddings, guests and dining room commitments the staff cannot cope.
Overall a good stay

Had a lovely time with the wife, every member of staff were so nice. Hotel was clean and well presented, dinner was fantastic. Overall had a nice quiet night away and not too far from home aswell!
The room was good, my only fault I could find was that the bed was too hard for my liking so I didn’t have the best sleep.
In light of that though I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
