As a person who lives out of hotels , I expect the basics, and thi one failed on my first and last visit. Th priority of ther hotel seems to be the events and notthe overnight guests, Could not get a table to eat as the restraunt on site was too busy on the first night, afer being told i need to book . .... before I arrive. I must say with 5 people and multiple empty tables I found this unnaceptable, it sems understaffing was the issue, afer being told to book in again in hour, 2 hours later was informed at 9:30 chef was finished, thats was the final straw , Fawlty Towers springs to mind. On a positive my following nights were considerably better, but i believe this was to avoid a poor review. Rooms clean and comfortable. Onsite Spa, generally clean, Hot tub full foaming scum not removed reguralarly, needs attention to detail. While Im not part of a large coach group, the individual guests matter.

Arrived and on nearing the entrance to our room two take away boxes of pizza and some other smelly foods greeted us outside our room. In entering the room and using the toilet we found the toilet to be broken. We immediately notified reception who said someone would be there to fix it and to remove the smelly take away boxes and left overs from the night before we assume. We went to the spa for a swim to return and nobody had been. On leaving for our evening meal away from the hotel I asked again at reception for someone to fix the toilet and remove the rubbish. We returned from our meal to find the boxes and left overs still there and the toilet broken making a noise that woke us up through the night. They simply didn’t care! At breakfast trying to cut into our food we found the knives were so worn there were no teeth left to cut into the food so struggling to cut things up. Honestly very frustrating and we had given up on telling anyone. Receptionist took £50 off but still had to pay a huge amount for a mediocre room and low standards. Location was good that’s all I can say.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Despite having trouble contacting the hotel before arriving (phone lines ringing with no answer multiple times), we loved our stay and spa experience. We booked the espa facials which were amazing and the staff in the spa were all very helpful and friendly. The treatment rooms could do with a slight refurbishments as some of the lights were broken etc. The breakfast options were great and food tasted hot and fresh. Room was spacious and comfortable with a great shower and extras like hairdryer etc, it was a little cold at night so definitely bring some warm pyjamas. We will definitely stay again!

Fabulous hotel very close to the centre of Winchester. This is a great location for exploring Winchester and surrounding areas. An easy walk to the city centre shops and restaurants. Loved the decor and ambiance of the hotel. Staff super friendly. There is parking on site but it is limited and paid for. Public parking is available in front of the hotel. We didn’t have time to use the spa sadly but overall really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

Comfortable room well appointed, nice ambience in the main hotel clean and modern. Leisure centre was great and a good addition to the hotel facilities. Food was good ate in the evening good selection on the menu. Breakfast food was provided and a great selection for all tastes.

The shower drainage was slow and left sitting water that smelt. They tried to fix it but not perfect. As we only had 2 days left we didn't bother to say anything. Everything else was perfect.

The hotel is in the middle of Winchester and easy to find. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the hotel was lovely. The lighting in the bedroom was surprisingly low which would be great if you were on a romantic break! The spa was lovely and we enjoyed using all the facilities. We were a bit disappointed with the cushions on the sun loungers, know of which were very clean but overall a very pleasant stay.

We had a lovely, short stay at the Winchester. The property is well-located, just about a 5-minute walk from the train station and less than 15 from the cathedral. The facilities were very nice - we didn't use the spa but did use the pool and it was a bit chilly but clean, and great after a day of traveling. It was our anniversary and they thoughtfully left us some chocolates. The room was clean and the shower had good water pressure. Our only complaint is that the beds were not very comfortable, but as we were just there for one night it wasn't a major issue. We stayed in a basic room, so perhaps the beds in fancier rooms are more comfortable. Overall, I would recommend staying at the Winchester.

The hotel is just beautiful. Very grand but not pretentious. The room we had was big and very comfortable. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room, complementary still & sparkling water. Iron & ironing board in the room. Beautiful large bathroom and shower. Staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. Could not recommend enough. East walking distance to the town centre. Great breakfast selection. Everything you could wish for.

Don’t waste your money staying here. Awful check in experience, being told to wait while the staff folded some bits of paper. Dated decor, rotting window frames with gaps letting in noise and wind. The “king size bed” was two single pushed together with very soft materess where you could feel every spring. Left a day early, could bear the thought of another night.

Good location for Winchester and the Uni if you drive. Very small car park. Spa service was unremarkable, felt like it was very rushed and not worth what I paid. Room service was again very average, limited selection of wines, no robes in room (extra charge) generally not the luxurious relaxing stay I would have imagined. Breakfast was nice.

Property is average. Disappointed that king bed was two twins pushed together. Shower glass could easily come off guide. Broken tap fitting. Reasonable selection for breakfast but scrambled eggs were cold. Poor value at 242 pounds for the night.

The room was very nice and comfortable although lacked some of the amenities listed. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful aside from some slight chaos with my booking which required 3 separate conversations with reception staff to resolve (to honour what was in my booking confirmation). Pool and spa area is lovely but had to wait for some time given restrictions on number of users

Club room upgrade! Torn quilt cover on bed, wallpaper hanging off wall in window, toilet seat was peeling! Communal areas were quite nice, staff friendly, room was a disgrace.

The one problem was the check in time. 3 p.m. suits car drivers but not train travellers , they have to carry suitcases around for some time if they if they arrive earlier.
