Room was in terrible condition and dirty, looked nothing like advertised in pictures. Ended up checking out after just a few hours.

Occupants hanging out at night and day in and around the building trashing, smoking and watching transient out of town traveling guest. Price is Excellent! Location is Excellent! Inside of Rooms Excellent and to standard. Surprisingly Quiet too.

This hotel needs to be shut down and removed from this site this is a shelter for drug attics police said it was dangerous and we should be careful not to open door because it was a recent stabbing there it a extended stay so ppl living there it’s unsafe unclean and needs to be shut down😡

I would never book here there was holes in the walls … doors and bath tub … you can hear everything that people are talking about next door and infront of the door. Foul smell. I stayed for 15 minutes and asked for a refund I was told I can only get a refund for the next day.

The property was dirty, inside and outside. Room was stink of cigarette smoke that caused my allergies to flare up . Had to wear a mask. Overall very unpleasant experience.

The entire room was disgusting the plumbing was backed up and the kitchen was absolutely filthy you could obviously tell they don’t deep clean their rooms. My boyfriend and I couldn’t even sleep there because it was that dirty. I do not recommend

The laundry room was not available at all. There was no dishes, pots and pans, silverware available for purchase. Water kept getting cold in the shower. No shampoo or bath soap at check-in. Air conditioner/heater unit was loud. I have been staying at another Extended Stay America in Vernon Hills which was very nice compared to Home Studios Red Roof.

We requested a non smoking room with queen beds. The room had been heavily smoked in & the beds were not queen. The room was supposed to be ready by 3. It was not ready until after 4 pm. The room was dirty. There were people tweaking in the parking lot.

This was the worst stay I’ve ever had. Noisy until 3 am, lost a tire to debris in the parking lot, half functioning, smelled awful, poorly cleaned and no housekeeping.

The first room I was given didn't have a refrigerator. After waiting more than an hour to get a proper room - after which I had to struggle from one end of the property to another with a very bad luggage rack, I had to throw away about half of my food because it had been left out of refrigeration too long.
Not once in the month I was there did anyone check on me; no housekeeping at all. The bugs and dirt that came in the door were unacceptable. The kitchen faucet was too big for the sink; hard to wash dishes without water spillage.
The room was so dark in the area where light was needed the most - over the table - hurt my eyes with the strain.
Other residents were too nosy - constantly looking in my windows to the point I had to put privacy film on them. The ac/heating unit blew directly on me where the table was; no option to move the table away from the unit.
One employee - Chase?Chaise? - was decent. The rest... non-existent.
Property used as homeless "shelter" - would not recommend for long-term travelers.

My room was horrible!!! My floors weren't clean. Lights were out and not working. Heating/Cooling unit wasn't working. I spoke with the front desk and she told me that, the wind blew dirt in the room and that's why they were dirty. Maintenance wasn't working so, I couldn't get the Heating unit serviced. She gave me a blanket after being tired of me talking. Never again will I stay there nor recommend anyone to stay there.

Room had no doorknob, no light in bathroom, toilet did not work. We will not and would not recommend anyone staying here. For the military base being close, you would think the staff and owners would have and take more pride in their property and buildings. They just did not care to fix problems at all or give us another room!!!!!!!

Unsafe, Criminal activity openly conducted in and around building, people walking through park clearly under influence, doira kicked in, garbage everywhere and people in line with "vouchers" to secure rooms.
My children and I did not feel safe and were refused a refund.
Both Expedia and Red Rood ARE aware of these issues which is why they list as "non-refundable". This listing is a fraud and a scam and doing business with Expedia, Red Roof Inns or any business entity that conducts and condones doing business this way; at the risk of consumers for profit should be referred to the Attorney General's office.

Close to the navy bases and no more a lot od dirty stuff no good customer services starting from the manager

First off upon arrival I had to call an after hours number to check in and then had to wait 10-15 for someone to get on the property to check me in. Refrigerator was dirty towels were stained and looked like they were not even washed there was dirt under the bed and the front piece for the heater/ac was falling off. Then for check out I had to wait for somebody to get on property again. Horrible place to stay.

The second night, A young black man knocked on the door at night. I stayed there alone. I was very scared.

“Booked” the “reservation” through Expedia only to find out they had no rooms available. What’s the point of booking a reservation, whether it was prepaid or not, if you can’t rely on the room being there’d that you wanted to make sure you had days/weeks earlier.
Blessing in disguise though. Upon showing up, I wouldn’t have wanted to stay there. Not in good shape. Found a place much nicer and for about the same price.

Bed bugs! The room is small and dirty. They use this facility for placement of the homeless no one should have to pay for this

I had switch rooms twice and the last room had mold in the refrigerator but stayed anyway got tired of going from room to room. First room I went to bed wasn’t made

The place was awful. The bed was hard, dirty towel found in back of bathroom door, no backup toilet paper, lighting I stairwell was not in when I checked in so I assumed they didn't work. I made it a point to just stay until time to check. However lights did go on because bi had an early check out on Monday am. Also front desk is closed on Sundays and so no security seemed to be around after office closed at 7pm. If I would have did an errand prior to 7 p my reservation would have been. Cancel led but not sure if refund would have occurred.
Also bath towels need to be replaced due to over use. I will never stay there again!

I went on a trip from New Jersey to see my son graduate from the navy and what I saw online isn’t the same in person but it was a quiet and comfortable environment they need to do fixtures to the vicinity.

Went to go see my son’s graduation from the Navy. The building is run down and dirt from the outside. Looks like they have never heard of something called Pressure washing. The room was disgusting, it smelled, the ac leaked, they had towels underneath it that were dirty, shower was dirty, shower handle came off in my hand, mirror was being up by 4 drywall screws and inch out from the wall, the “people” hanging outside of their rooms till 2am yelling and screaming was annoying. I would never recommend staying here……EVER!!!

Customer service was mediocre. This whole building needs reservation or just get condemned. The red roof inn hometowne suites company needs to check on this place. Illinois states health department needs to check on this place. This places seems understaffed and saw that trash had been piled up for what seemed like weeks of no trash people coming to clean the exterior areas. There was a lot of dust in the room. I would not stay here again. Bless the heart of the front desk lady who checked me in. I was in town for a quick trip and needed a cheap place to stay. At minimum, it is not hard to dust, disinfect, launder linen and towels, and for a COVID pandemic; the lack of cleanliness was horrible. Please get this whole place renovated or condemned. I will not stay here again.

We had to pay upfront because without doing so we would not be able to have a "late" check-in. The check-in time was between 3 and 7 pm. When we got there we had to phone someone to let us in. We then had to take the stairs up to our 3rd-floor room as the elevator was broken. The room was old but nice. It had a full-sized fridge and a stove. We were only there for 2 nights but it looks like most of the people were there for an extended stay. We had to leave our room key in the door to the office as there was no one to take them until 11 am and we needed to be on the road long before then.
