The charge for the pool was £7.50 per person per day which I think is too high especially since there was no sauna or steam room available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just a minor hiccup on arrival, waste bin had not been emptied, bed had been sat or rumbled on it a bit & tea tray not stocked up. Dining room staff friendly & attentive at all meals, will stay again

The receptionist had no customer service skills, was miserable, unfriendly and seemed annoyed when I asked her a few questions about size of room and if there was a lift to the top floor. I had to drag a heavy case up three flights of stairs as an older woman with no offer of help from staff. On reaching the start of the second flight, one of the housemaids saw me struggling so picked up case and carried it all the way up to my room luckily. The room was very small with a double bed. It was noisy with no double glazing windows that were hard to push up or down. The hotel needs refurbished and not up to a high standard for the prices they charge for the rooms. Definitely over priced and not good for this type of area in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. I never want to stay in this hotel ever again. Most of the staff are unprofessional and do not go the extra mile for their customers! I will never go back there again in the future. Dreadful experience overall.
4.3
A comfortable, friendly hotel with excellent facilities and reasonably priced food and beverages. We love it.

Pleasant staff

Bang average hotel. Just what you'd expect from a best western they're stuck in the 80s. Bar had good draught options. Gym and swim looked good but you have to pay for it. 15-20 minute walk to the beach which is nice. Eat at a lovely tapas place round that area.
4.3
The only downfall about this hotel is when there is a wedding reception on and at 10/11 at night everyone is hanging out the front of the hotel being very loud but other than that really nice place to stay pool and spa facilities are amazing and the staff are very friendly
4.3
Terrible reception manager and maintenance lazy to say the least. Beds never made/towels full of holes and thin, everything shabby. Shower covered in black mould and smelly. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere
4.3
Great Staff, restaurant and pub. Had I known earlier how nice, I would've booked a longer stay. Possibly the world's best Best Western. Wonderful.
4.3
Nice hotel in woodland setting nice staff nice food
4.3
Great hotel. Nice walk DOWN to Broughty Ferry. Little tougher coming back UP
4.3
With having a adjoining door i could hear everything from next door, taking singing belching. Fortunately they did not stay the reat of my stay so i could sleep a lot better.
Although the hotel was lovely, amd i had a great stay.

GOOD FOR A 1 NIGHT
4.3
Room was unbearablly hot, no heating was on and there is only an old fan in the room to try keep it cool..Think I was above the spa area and this could be the cause of the relentless heat...There is a fairly awkward arrangement between the bar and restaurant for food and the tv in the bar is rather small and poorly placed.
There is a decent selection of largers and nice outdoor sitting area, rooms were clean and serived daily...The tv in the room is of a good size and larger than the one in the lounge bar..
4.3
Room was out of date and dusty. Terrible view from the the tiny window. Found it difficult to fall asleep due to music from an event the hotel was hosting.

Weekend of June 1st.
Stayed in room 221 first floor. You could feel the heat as you got out elevator only one floor up. The room was too hot to be comfortable in. Fan in room sitting on dressing table should have been hint however was extremely noisy so useless during night. Mentioned heat to receptionist who pretended that this had never been mentioned before so why a fan in room. Noticed air conditioning on ground floor.
Dissapointing that you choose a hotel with a pool but have to pay extra to use it. Declined offer to pay this when checking in as weather was good therefore no requirement to use it.
Shower over bath in bathroom. Bath very narrow for standing in.
No complaints with food. Staff helpful. Pick or ask for ground floor room if staying in summer.
4.3
No lift 3floor bed room not suit for over 65 aged :-(
4.3
Depending if your room has been renovated recently or not you might either land in a king size bed with top notch bathroom or a tiny old bed with a mattress so old you feel like sleeping in a hamac… despite advertised in Hotel.com the gym and swimming pool are not included, you have to pay 9£ each access the pool) which we discovered as we were already in the pool as the hotel never mentioned it anywhere…
4.3
Spacious rooms, great staff, high quality food,
great for all ages. Leisure facilities were amazing. Would stay again.

Excellent hotel. Helpful staff.

Great staff.

The place is so lovely and welcoming, staff are attentive and so friendly. The choice of food was excellent and what we ordered was delicious . The only thing that let it down a bit was the room wasn’t as clean as it could have been and the next day clean wasn’t done properly. We spoke to manager and she sorted it straight away. Will definitely stay again . Beautiful four poster bed was nice suprise. We joined the Best Western membership that lets you know about offers etc . All in all thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.
4.3
Attended hotel where our friends funeral wake was taken place reason for the stay. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant food was delicious and food came very quickly and there was no rush to remove us when restaurant was closed.
4.3
Was perfect. Nice room and lovely bathroom with lovely hot shower.

This is listed as a 3-star hotel but it has 5 star heart. The hotel is a wee bit tired but it makes up for it with how clean and airy the rooms the restaurant and the bar area and the whole hotel is spotless. Many hotels list family-friendly but that really only means facilities not with this Hotel this is the best family-friendly I have ever been to. The management and the staff make this hotel the wee gem it is nothing too much bother and smiling faces greet you. This family gives them 5 stars and without a doubt, we will be back...Oh, and the brekkie and evening meals were fab and my grandson who is 4 didn't want to leave. Thank you all for making our stay so relaxed.
4.3
The hotel is a little tired.
4.3
The WiFi didn't work in my room. It was unstable and kept disconnecting. That alone means I would not stay here again. The breakfast however was great!
4.3
In need of upgrades. Leisure /pool area very dated in particular.
Food was okay. Staff friendly enough.
4.3
Internet was very poor. Kept losing signal
4.3
Would've helped to have info in the rooms about dining times - breakfast, lunch & dinner. Also info about using facilities like swimming pool and gym. And info on local taxis and local buses.
4.3
would recommend and defiantly be back, rooms were nice and clean and also the pool facilities very good hotel overall in general was beautiful
4.3
This is not like any Best Western I have ever seen. Really a nice place.

I booked this hotel a week in advance of my stay I booked a deluxe double room for two as my wife was doing business at the same time I was.
When I checked in a young man was on the desk , very polite he asked my name and started checking me in when a woman the size of a small village butted in.
She said she had put me in an easy access room.
When I got to the room I was discussed at the state of the room .
Even if I was disabled and I'm not the room was dirty the carpets are heavily stained.
The bathroom ? Well the shower only reaches 5 ft and to look in the mirror I could only see my tummy .
All the equipment was there if I was disabled.
Then I had to call my wife to ask her to book into another hotel .
When I went to ask for another room she grunted at me in a very nasty way and told me they were booked up .
Not forgetting ide booked this hotel a week prior.
The hotel looks amazing from outside but it's like stepping back into the eighties, very dated very dirty.
And the small village who delt with me could do with a cleaning job.
Not a very good front of door staff.
Would I recommend this hotel ? NO !
I've stayed in better youth hostels.
Be warned !
4.3
Bed very uncomfortable- suggested getting a new mattress. Some cobwebs in the room too - at the side of the headboard. Good location for seeing the area
4.3
Best wheelchair acessible hotel I have stayed at. From parking, entrance through to room . Wide corridors, wide doors and excellent adapted bathroom. Very comfortable room. Would stay here again.
4.3
The hotel is welcoming and clean, just lacked something this time. Was disappointed we had to pay extra to use the pool etc - bit cheeky to add a supplement for that, and yet advertise the facilities when searching for a rate. Not sure we will be back
4.3
Rooms very small and hot and stuffy. Heating on in middle of summer
4.3
the staff were fantastic, please get a lift for the top floor though, many many steps...
4.3
All good but dinner a bit mediocre
Lovely grounds
Friendly staff

Have stayed recently twice. One in June with my husband and most recently friends up from London on holiday.
We enjoyed our stay and so did our friends.
Both our rooms were lovely.
Staff were welcoming and helpful.
Found our rooms were very quiet and had good sleep.
Lovely breakfast with something to suit all tastes.
Only slight criticism was price of drink at the bar but only we don't often go to hotels so this might be normal.
