The immediate location on the beach is incredible. And the views are just wow! We had a large room and fantastic large balcony. The high tide comes right up and when it's out you can walk to Newquay or to lusty glaze beaches across the sand. Breakfast was delicious š. Very quiet in the room even though we were above the restaurant. Gorgeous clean private beach with snack bar. Lovely cliff walk across to Porth and beyond. It's about a half hour walk to fistral where there's a couple of nice restaurants. Would recommend to anyone who wants to spend time on the beach.
Unfortunately - and this is nothing to do with the hotel - that end of Newquay town itself is not nice. The beaches and walks are gorgeous, the town not so.Two empty derelict hotels on the cliff top which is the first thing you see at the top. Smelly drains further into town and so much litter on the street. It just looks run down and like noone cares.
Bed was too soft for my husband.
For the price of the room it was a shame that the sand wasn't swept off the floor in our room each morning - it wasn't swept at all and nothing in the room to do.it ourselves. Bath towels weren't folded back up and the last day our bathmat disappeared. Small issue really but it's not a cheap hotel!

We thought the staff were terrific and extremely helpful. The view from our room was lovely and the meal served at the restaurant was great.
Didnāt like the drive down the hill to the hotel. Quite challenging and very steep - staff helped us to get back to the top when we were leaving. Thank goodness.

The location is great right on the beach and can access all other beaches in area when tide is out .
The breakfast is of good quality and plenty to choose from .
The hot water in the shower could have been slightly hotter .

The location is so exceptional, the beach house being actually on the beach, that it's hard to find the words that praise it enough.
Being able to eat fantastic food, attended by wonderfully cheerful and attentive staff and then go to sleep to the sound of the surf was such a restorative and enjoyable experience, it is not overstating the case to say that this was probably the best hotel stay we've ever experienced in the UK and in the top three worldwide.
All the staff we encountered were cheerful, attentive and all seemed to really enjoy going out of their way to ensure we had everything we wanted. We have to make special mention of Eva (it may have been Ava), Natasha and Niamh who each took care of us on one of our evenings in the restaurant where we ate the most amazing food prepared by chefs Matt and Wayne (aka 'Skinny') who were equally good company and took the time to chat to us about the area, the food and the hotel.
There really was nothing we didn't like; ok, sand gets into the apartment but we booked a beach house so that would be foolish to be a cause for complaint and the cleaning staff do an amazing job keeping everything spotlessly clean.

Wow what an amazing place! Right on the beach with fabulous views. We stayed in a Colonial room with balcony and the decor and furniture in the room and the restaurant was eclectic and bespoke. Our stay was to celebrate my partners 60th birthday and the staff were fantastic and made the day really special.
The food in the restaurant was so tasty and the seafood - crab, prawns, lobster - was fresh and the best Iāve ever tasted.
We will definitely be returning! ā¤ļø
Very narrow steep slope to drive down but apart from that the whole place was perfect.

The view from the balcony was amazing, and all the little animal details in the room
You can't control the radiators, it's all full bore or nothing but there is 2 in the room so we just ran 1 on full and turned the other off

The room was very comfortable, cozy and spacious. The view could not be better! Loved leaving the window open at night and hearing the waves! Complimentary cocktails on the first night were unexpected bonus! Breakfast was delicious, we tried restaurant on the first night and the mains were really good (monkfish curry and fish from the market).

The food in the restaurant was amazing and loved having room service also (even though they charge you for this service)
All the staff are lovely and friendly too.
Ran out of toilet roll quickly. I was surprised that there was no fridge in the room. When I've stayed in one of the huts there was a fridge in there but I decided to upgrade to a better room and paid a lot more money but I feel I got less in my room!
Also, for smokers, I can't understand why you're not allowed to smoke on the balcony. If your balcony door was closed then it shouldn't be a problem as your are outside?!
Online you advertise a tea and coffee maker, so there's me thinking there will be a machine of some sort... And not just a kettle!!
