Beautiful property

The resort is beautiful and loved it! stayed one night but didn't know ahead that after check out I can hand around until 10pm, I couldn't take advantage of that because our plans for the day where already paid for, but if I have known that I would've stay perhaps another night to make it easier on the family.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful grounds. Definitely book!
I would give this a 5/5 if it weren't for the rude staff during checkout. We were checking out an hour early, and my husband was at the front desk while I finished getting our kids dressed in the room. Unbeknownst to us, the entire family had to be present at checkout. Suddenly, the room door opened, and the housekeeper started yelling, “Get out, it’s checkout time.” I found this extremely rude, and the treatment downstairs was the same. This was confusing as the hospitality had been wonderful and everyone was friendly during our entire stay.
Other than that, it's a 5/5. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful! The hot springs were so relaxing, and the slides were fun! Despite the tour buses that stop by for the day, the place is so large that it still feels empty and quiet.
Breakfast, included from 7-10 am, was delicious! The on-site restaurant for lunch was good, and the buffet-style dinner ($22) was also delicious.
We have stayed at Tabacon in the past, but I would recommend Baldi over Tabacon. I enjoyed how empty and quiet it was in the early mornings and on weekdays.

Great place. Couldn’t sleep good to noisy with animals sounds and in the morning at 6 am they stared working around . Everyone friendly and helpful. Great location. Clean. Good food.

Pool cleanliness, sizes and options cannot be beat! The 24-hour pool is rotated, and pools cleaned and refilled daily. There are plenty of different temperatures as well as a natural cave sauna with mini hot waterfalls. Our room had a balcony with chairs where we could enjoy coffee in the morning and spot hummingbirds feeding. The room is stocked with everything from water, nuts, chips to a 5th of some liquors. The shower could have been a little better but was the only hotel of three we stayed at that actually had a tub. Although the drinks were pricey at least they were really good. Food was good but there is only the option of the same menu for sit down and room service or the buffet. Quality of the food was good, and the breakfast buffet had great options for omelet, fruits, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon and more. The property was so big the bell hop gave us a quick tour on a cart prior to delivering and helping us to our hotel room.

We have stayed at this property 6 times before and has always loved it. We had a problem that our shower was not working, barely a trickle of water. We informed the staff, and they agreed that something was definitely wrong. They offered to fix or switch rooms. As we had already unpacked for multiple days, we gave them a chance to fix. We were told it was fixed, and it was temporarily, but then the same problem occurred. We were offered an opportunity to move, but is was already late on our last night, we didn't want to pack up, just to check out the next day. basically we had 1 day where the shower worked properly. The staff offered no compensation, which should have been offered even if we had moved for our inconvenience. The front desk tried, but basically have no authority to do anything. The manager, Max, was a coward, and would not even talk to us directly. Problems occur in hospitality, but the gauge of a quality establishment is how problems are handled. Offering to switch rooms at the least convenient time with no other compensation is not acceptable. Not to mention we were repeat "VIP" guests. We weren't looking for a full refund or anything, just a small discount for our inconvenience. I even asked if they would cover the 2 drinks we had at the bar ($24) and we were told it was not possible. What a joke. Baldi has changed over the years, and they definitely do not care about the guests, they are more concerned about selling day passes to the springs

Absolutely love this property!!

The property is as lovely advertised. However, the unfriendly staff, ridiculous charging policy and bad food is what ruined it for us. We were charged $100/day in addition to our contracted rate because we had our daughter checked in with us under a 2p reservation. I am more than willing to pay the additonal fee because of my booking error, however, it did not come with a room upgrade or even a cot to accomdate the additional person in a single king bed room. Making matters even worse, our family got food poisoning after our first dinner there. This caused us to miss out on a prepaid tour the next day. When we reported this to the front desk, their reaction was less than empathetic or bother to ask our names or what room we were in. I cannot recommend this property based on customer service. There are lots of nice properties in the area which i am sure would have provided us a nicer experience.

My recent stay at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel and Spa in La Fortuna provided a mix of positives and negatives, ultimately leaving me with a mixed impression.
On the positive side, the hot springs themselves were very nice, clean, and conveniently located. They provided a relaxing retreat and were a highlight of the stay.
However, the experience was marred by several issues. The front desk staff were not attentive, leading to a lengthy check-in process and a lack of responsiveness throughout my stay. While the breakfast buffet offered a good variety of options, the lunch buffet was only average in quality.
Furthermore, I encountered issues with the hotel's policies regarding pool towels. Despite being provided with towels upon check-in, one was stolen while I was using the hot springs. When I approached the staff for assistance, they were unhelpful and failed to address the situation satisfactorily. To exacerbate matters, upon checking out, I was charged for the stolen towel, which felt unjust given the circumstances.
Although I enjoyed the attractions of La Fortuna, including its natural beauty, I do not plan to stay at Baldi Hot Springs Hotel and Spa again in the future. The lack of attentive service, coupled with policy enforcement issues, detracted significantly from what could have been a more enjoyable experience.

Baldi was absolutely wondering, the staff was amazing and the hot springs were to die for. Amazing experience from the second we got there.

Very relaxing. The view of the volcano was amazing from the property.

I did not like that we had to pay an additional $50 per night for my 10 year old daughter, but then were not provided with a roll away bed for her or even a towel. Our "view" was of a construction site. Our room was a "family suite", but it was just one giant room without even a sofa to sit on. It was not very family friendly. There seemed to be no perks to staying on-site at Baldi, other than breakfast. It was crowded by outside guests using the pools all but the very early morning hours.

My husband passed away just before our trip. We paid over $4,000.00 to stay here. I called as soon as I could to cancel this trip. Every reservation needed for this trip EXCEPT the resort offered a refund. Even tickets purchased that clearly stated no refund found this to be a unique situation that empathy and compassion needed to be shared gave a complete refund. When I tried to talk with someone about the situation they refused to speak with me or a translator. I could only send an email that they refuse to answer. I would warn any US citizen to ever stay at this resort.

The hot springs are what make this a wonderful experience!

There was very little to none hot water to bathe!! The drinks were very weak!!! And expensive for just sugar! The drinks were good during the week and as the weekend came they turned to water and sugar basically! Staff was good as far as service but the front desk staff needed attention!!

I like the atmosphere, I didn’t like the sewer smell inside the room

Large property with lots of options for pools, swim up bars, and water slides. Just what we needed at the end of our week long vacation in Costa Rica!

Great property to spend the entire time in the thermal springs. Absolutely beautiful but everything is expensive. There were times where the staff didn’t act very respectful. Looked like it was because we were Indians and not white Americans, which made us disappointed a bit, but overall a pleasant stay.

The resort was beautiful and had amazing hot spring choices of 25 pools. The place is clean the water gets drained out every night. They sanitizes the place. The service sucks in the front desk, they are not friendly at all. They charged a lot for money for having extra kids in the room. It’s not it’s an all inclusive resort where they need to charge $100 a day for a child. I would recommend this place because it’s beautiful but it’s over prices for no reason. This resort also has day pass for outsiders. So they caters for outside guest more then the people who are staying there.

I paid over a $1,000 per night, there was limited availability of pool towels and the towels that were provided were torn. I have a picture. The resort was so crowded with the day pass people that there was no space to sit for the hotel residence. There was no reserve chairs, or anything else for the hotel residence paid thousands of dollars. There was not even bottled water available in the room without paint $10 a bottle when you paid over a thousand dollars per night for the room.

This property was beautiful and relaxing. Very clean. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We recommend this property. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Lunch and dinner food was acceptable but we would prefer more authentic Costa Rican cuisine. Restaurants offered many American choices.

Service at the front desk was excellent, Joseph was awesome. Food was good. Pool bartenders were fantastic and very courteous. The springs were very clean and wonderful. The room was nice and clean and the service cleaning the room was excellent but we found the bed uncomfortable and the bathtub is very high and difficult to get in and out of. It was a bit of a hike to get our luggage to our room and there are no luggage carts. It is definitely worth the stay.

It’s a great resort!!!! Beautiful hot springs. Our check in wasn’t good. The staff was kinda fighting/gossiping while we were checking in. Some of the bar staff were phenomenal. But some, looked really mad or unhappy to be there. Definitely didn’t reflect the Pura Vida lifestyle that Ticos are known for.

This experience was amazing. The hot springs are so wonderful and the different levels of heat gives a number of options for travelers. The property was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast which was included was very good. The only negative was the high cost of some of the cocktails. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to friends and family and intend to return myself.

Great Experience! Convenient location to all activities, around Arenal Volcano.
The unique spa/pools, were very large and well thought out. Walk up bars in some areas. Really nice place. Very accommodating.

Check if it's low or high season. Fortunately I went in low season when the resort was not that full. Upon arrival I was unable to relax at some of the hot springs as some guests took them over in large groups. The tour guides shared that in high season this place is a zoo. My stay during low season was very comfortable, but it was a little pricey.

Most incredibly set up with the hottest pool at the top working down to the main entrance pool. Cool pools staged perfectly to jump in and refresh. Staff bilingual and knowledgeable of the area and attractions.

Natural hot springs were amazing, especially after a long day of hiking. At night we had the entire water park to ourselves. Close to all attractions, and an easy drive into La Fortuna for dinner.
