Our concierge Maria was amazing everything we asked of her. She did her outmost to provide.
5.0 / 5.0
We loved the property and the pool which is much larger than in the pictures. For a family of 5 the property was good size and Maria was excellent. She was quick to answer our questions and organise things for us. The restaurants around are very good and the Family bakery is very convenient for essentials and for a quick snack.

The property was beautiful and our group loved how authentic it felt. The pool was well maintained and there was plenty of space for 10 people. Maria was a wonderful host and helped arrange transportation for us.
The surrounding town of Megalochori is small but quiet and significantly less crowded than Fira or Oia, but the trade-off is that there are no spectacular views, and fewer dining options.
Note, only some of the bedrooms have air conditioning.

A beautifully unique place, in an incredibly charming village. Wonderful, friendly staff. I can’t wait to return.

Having never been to Santorini and wanting to escape real life we couldn’t have stayed at a better hotel. From before arriving to leaving every experience was top notch. Maria helped coordinate all of our transportation, activities and allowed us a late checkout. Our villa was breathtaking and offered us the utmost privacy.

Submitted this rating based on my stay at Ducato di Oia, caused I got upgraded. I'm quite sure the excellence experience at Ducato di Oia translates to Ducato Wine Hotel.

Lovely little town/village.
Check in was chaotic, after finding the villa (which has no sign) we were told to go to a bar, only to be brought back to the villa.
The villa itself is fine, it’s old and definitely rustic, however there are some major problems, despite having modern bathrooms, there’s no hook to attach the shower head to, meaning we had to use a plastic bag to tie it to a beam.
There are air conditioning units, but no instructions (although help was provided when we asked), the rooms are not air tight meaning it’s absolutely impossible to keep away from mosquitoes.
Breakfast (10-12) is in a local bar and whilst filling and substantial is an utterly chaotic affair with a coffee taking 20+ minutes to come. The only bin was in the bathroom which meant plastic bottles etc are in with used toilet paper.
The owners were however polite and helpful and ever ready to respond including via WhatsApp.

When I booked this villa in Megalochori, I knew very little about the location. We just fell in love with the architecture and really wanted to stay in a cave house. To our surprise, this village was my favourite. So quaint, quiet, and authentic, one really gets a feel for rural life in Greece. I could have stayed forever! The villa does not disappoint either. Ample room for the 7 of us travelers. Clean sheets and towels, wifi is good when outside. The courtyard pool was perfect! Our host was a "whatsapp" message away with really good response time. Only two things to mention, one, I booked through VRBO in January and never did I receive confirmation. I could see that my VISA was charged but no written confirmation. This was a little unsettling. Three or four emails also sent were unanswered. I was finally sent an email about 4 weeks prior to departure, asking if we needed a van to pick us up from the port of Santorini. YES! From there, all was fantastic! Secondly, some of the photos in the VRBO listing are not of this property. I was under the impression that we were located much closer to the caldera as some photos suggest. - None the less, I would go back in a heartbeat!

We arrived for our check in and we were greeted by Nerri who was our concierge for our stay. We were stunned by the gorgeous villa. It is in the wine part of Santorini away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone there was extremely friendly and the food and wine was amazing. Nerri made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Perfect location.

I wish we would’ve spent more time here! Loved the beautiful villa we stayed in, the location and the little village and shops!

We stayed in the 5 bedroom mansion with our own private pool. Staying here was a very special experience for our family. Each room area is like it’s own villa. The pool was fantastic. Our concierge made sure we were happy. We loved being in Megalochori.

There is nothing about this place that is luxurious. Don’t stay here. There is no AC at all, being forced to use a fan and leaving all windows and door open which then mean we were mauled by mosquitos. During the day the plunge pool doesn’t have sun for half the day and there is a whiff of rotting garbage from the abandoned building across the street and flies everywhere meaning we couldn’t enjoy being inside or outside. The bathroom sink fixture is broken. The place also smelled of mold for which they brought a small de humidifier. The town itself is beautiful and relaxing, away from the crowds with a very small town square with a few restaurants. I completely regret booking this place non refundable and paying $350+ per night and being so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep.

The place we stayed in was not what is pictured; in the photo line-up it shows two pictures of our place--the terra cotta kitchen and a partial pool w/outdoor couch w/billowy curtains. There is no view of the ocean. A couple minutes walk from the main part of town (which is a few shops and restaurants--indoor/outdoor with lovely ambiance), it is set off a quiet almost desserted cobbled street. With it's own exterior door to the private walled oasis within, it has a pool with sun during the day and shade midafternoon. There are two loungers, a hammock and a small couch around the pool area. Off this area, there is a door to the living room (couch, 1 chair, tv) and a door to the kitchen (w/dining table); there is a separate toliet/sink room with door that closes but does not shut and lock--you enter it off the main bathroom which is separated from the living room with an accordian curtained barrier that doesn't give complete privacy for changing or showering (the shower is open). The bedrooms are set back without windows and without much space for luggage-no dressers but one armoire. One bedroom has a tight ladder leading to an upstairs bed. There is no air conditioning but they provide fans. Konstantina was flexible about check-in time, met us at the town center for check-in, walked us to the villa, was very helpful with misc. questions and had a porter take our luggage there and at the end of our stay. She also arranged a transfer to the airport which was 60 euro. The restaurant in the town center that is associated with this property was very accommodating to us.

I would for sure make sure you set up pick up and drop off times way ahead of time- we tried to get a hold of them for 3 days with no luck. Cost us a ton of money in transport fee's because we couldn't arrange the free shuttle with them. Once we got a hold of them (after we arrived) they were very helpful, but we did arrange for everything on our own rather than going through the agency- we got much better rates on rental car, boat and excursions then what they quoted us.

The 5 bedroom villa was perfect for our group. It was a classic style Greek villa that has the extra perks of a private pool and excellent and attentive staff

Nasia and the team were very efficient and welcoming. The stone villa with plunge pool was perfect for a romantic break. Loved the originality of the villa and the privacy of our own plunge pool.

Great location, unique view, romantic. Room little damp as in a cave house. The host kindly bought us a fridge and coffee maker as there wasn't anything and no service available. It's a wonderful spot though would not recommend a long stay.

We booked the large, 5 bedroom villa with private pool for our group of seven (3 adults, 4 kids) and found it be absolutely wonderful. The peaceful, sleepy village is located approximately 15 minutes (via car) from the busy town of Fira. The villa itself felt like a lovely retreat, very private and well maintained with a gorgeous courtyard and pool. Overall, Villas and Mansions of Santorini is a professional operation; we were promptly picked up from the airport and transported to the village where we were greeted by our concierge who gave us a tour of the villa and checked in with us on a daily basis to make rental car arrangements, book a private yacht and provide dining recommendations/reservations. We loved everything about the experience.

The location of the villa was great. I stayed in the private villa, with pool for two persons. I looked at their website and it said that there was air conditioning. THERE IS NOT! I was pretty upset with the false advertising of the company. After getting no sleep the first night due to the heat, we had to request a fan. They even told us they did not have AC, but I informed them that their website said otherwise. After we got the fan, everything was more comfortable.
The staff was helpful to get us comfortable. Breakfast was good. They also helped to coordinate a rental car, which is a MUST for the island. They also were there to get us from the airport and coordinated a ride back.
Besides the AC situation, everything was great.
