The hotel is nice; rooms good and comfortable albeit not overly large but have silly niggles: the small old TV is fixed to the wall and cannot be viewed from the bed; no USB connectivity; very creaky floors. The negatives are in the dining area and experience: very cold, too open - we suffered a loud party and despite moving as far as possible from them we still couldn’t converse without almost shouting, very disappointing menu - supposedly Italian but essentially pizza or pasta but very little else that you’d expect from a high end restaurant and overpriced. The experience at breakfast was ultimately no better: still far too cold in the dining area and although a good selection of breakfast items, the poached eggs for my Eggs Benedict weren’t cooked - l ended up with a plateful of watery mush ! I wouldn’t stay there again.

Good location in Canford Cliffs. Nice terrace and bar. Room nice but a tiny bit old fashioned, as was the hotel. Breakfast pleasant. Really not much to fault but not wow either. Would probably stay again so no complaints.

Lovely hotel, staff friendly, food great, only slight moan is the room decor was a little tired but overall really lovely hotel

This hotel seems to be more focused on the food and drink side of the business for their profit and don’t care about much else. They really overcharge for everything. Two drinks £30! No table service outside. Such a shame as that’s where most people go. Missing a trick there and just making people sad they have to go get their own stuff. The room was small, stuffy, outdated and extremely(!!) tired. Could do with investing in refurbishing the rooms then they could justify the high prices. Disappointed and won’t be returning.

Wonderful view from dining room and deck. Staff friendly and welcoming, and exceptionally helpful.
Hotel is slightly tired but clean. Sheets and towels snowy white. Squeaky and uneven floor in our room needs attention and must have been irritating to room below.
Breakfast was tasty but not four star, although granola bars were delicious. Dinner selection was good.

Excellent views. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good dining options with excellent Chinese restaurant. Great access to beach and harbor. Would definitely go again.

Really disliked the fact that there is no table service for drinks on the terrace, only glass collection service. This meant us having to get up, queue for very slow service at the bar, and struggle with 4 drinks down the steps. Drinks are over priced too. However, the non service policy is a missed opportunity on the part of the hotel to up-sell as glasses collected. This is a poor part of the hotel experience. Outside staff were very young, not trained other than is very basic skill of picking up glasses. The bar service was very slow and I had to stand and wait for a good few minutes before being served.

Lovely stay - the views made it so book a room with a view if you can! Staff were excellent, food was also very good. Breakfast in particular was lovely and high quality.

I completed the SW Coast walk at this wonderful hotel, A warm welcome at reception despite my somewhat dishevelled appearance. Room was 306 very comfortable with a jaw-dropping view of the harbour extending from the port of Poole to Old Harry Rocks. A great meal in the restaurant, with good food and drink and accommodating service Yes, the whole stay was expensive, but in this case, I feel I got what I paid for!

We love this hotel - great position, great food and service. Not the cheapest place to stay but well worth it

Staff were lovely! Really good service. V impressed. Hotel would do with a facelift though, the room is a bit dated. Incredible views and lovely menu.

We enjoyed a 2 night stay to visit family. Our room had a stunning view across Poole Bay. We ate in both restaurants and were happy with the food quality and especially with the attentiveness of the staff.

Friendly welcome with great service, great views over Poole harbour. Bathrooms a bit tired, but certainly clean, and walls quite thin so noise travels.

Very good location between Studland, Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth.
The hotel though is tired, with outdated room furniture and decorations and missing modern conveniences like USB sockets.
Bar v expensive, breakfast ok (granola bars great), slow service.
Excellent views from the terrace

Lovely room, nice reception staff, great views from the bar and restaurant but the experience was let down by breakfast.
Ordered Avocado Benedict - served with blackened/burnt avocado and spinach that was very gritty and inedible.
I did send it back but the waiter didn’t seem particularly bothered.

Stained carpet after reception, dated all round, stained carpets in room hallway and in room itself. Way overpriced for what it is, left after 1 night out of 2

From the minute we arrived we were made to feel welcome with a smiling greeting from the reception staff (Tania). This continued throughout with a friendly chat everytime we were coming and going. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and as we requested we had a harbour view. Tea and coffee facilities were good and there was also an empty fridge for guests to use. Breakfast choice and quality was very good and again the staff were very nice and smiling (Jazz). We ate in the in-house Amalfi restaurant on the Monday night. Having eaten at Rick Steins restaurant the previous night I would say that, having had fish starters and mains both nights, overall the Amalfi's whole dining experience, quality of food and service was better (at less than half the price), especially our waitress Meena who always had a happy smile. We even received a voucher at reception for a free bottle of wine.
Plenty of room in the car park but it is their winter season so the hotel wasn't very busy. Only negative might be, for less able person walking, is that it is a very steep road from the beach up to the hotel but if you are using a car then no problem. Overall would definitely recommend.

Good check in nice rooms, some staff better than others, the Chinese restaurant is really tasty. Always feel a bit put out when you have to pay for parking, the hotel isn’t cheap and £10.00 per night is a bit expensive. Local bus service excellent. Good breakfast.

Annoying to pay a parking fee. Lovely views etc so good hotel for a summer visit. Food excellent but the same menu 3 nights running was very disappointing and restrictive. No set menu or Specials offered

Hotel was very good..my only criticism would be related to the staff. Some were ok...others not so, and they were at the point of being rude. Which is a shame as the hotel is ideally situated for fantastic views ,with very good facilities.

Very nice and friendly reception staff and a lovely room. Our only gripe would be no table service for drinks from the bar. There were so many tables with old used glasses and tea & coffee cups lying around as no one was collecting them during the day and again when we were in the bar in the evening. We had to wait half an our for our breakfast once we ordered it which we felt was too long. The hotel has stunning views and the location is great. We would stay there again.

Location is excellent and only a short walk to the beach (down hill). Views from the harbour view rooms and terrace are superb. as most hospitality currently a little low in staff and breakfast was a bit chaotic, personally I don’t like that you have to book a time for breakfast which I found strange, although the guy running breakfast couldn’t do enough. Rooms could do with updating and shower would be awkward if you are tall than 5ft9. Prior to arrival informed the hotel it was our anniversary and they left a few surprises for us, nice touch 👍. We would stay here again.
