Restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. Location was close to the train station and shoppers street. Other restaurants close by not so great, that was the only low point.

I made an error when booking. I didn’t realize only the “superior” rooms had air conditioning. Tom at the hotel was extremely helpful and not only assisted me in a room change but moved our bags into the new (air conditioned) room when we were out touring. He truly went above and beyond to accommodate us.
The hotel location is great. Easily walkable area with quick access to restaurants and shops. Off site parking was easy and the hotel was quick to validate the ticket so I paid a discounted rate. The checkin was easy, staff lovely.

We enjoyed our time at the Hyde Hotel. We were placed in one of their newly renovated rooms. It was very clean and enough space for 2 people. The room felt a tad claustrophobic because we had a sky light instead of regular windows. The sky light did have blackout blinds and we could open for air if needed. Our room also had heating and air conditioning. The staff lovely. There was a water issue in our room and they fixed it within an hour of us grabbing a bite. Great location to the bus station, train station and city center. We were fortunate to be in a room with air conditioning (I have seen other reviews saying not all rooms have it) however the weather in Galway this time of year didn’t need it necessarily - opening the window would have been just fine. Would recommend!

The hotel was just okay. The parking garage is around the block and it was fine, but having to drag our luggage through busy streets was a pain. The room was on the smaller side with no place to put our luggage (only staying 2 nights so didn’t want to fully unpack). Everything was clean and in place, but the bathroom had an unusually high step in to the tub and there was not a hook in the room. They did have a towel rack in the shower but having a hook for my toiletry bag would’ve been nice. Housekeeping did not make up our room and we had to ask for replenishments of the coffee essentials. We were on the first floor with a lot of street noise, which quieted at night. And the first night there was a huge Hen-do on our floor. This place seems to cater to larger parties and a much younger crowd. It would be perfect for younger people, but don’t think I’d stay again. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating, we ate at the bar in the restaurant and while the food was great they seemed a little disorganized.

Noisy street

Should have been warned about the parking issues. Likewise the room's air conditioning would only blow cold air, no way to adjust it.

Nice property in a great location. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Parking was a challenge. No valet. No parking on premise. Not even a loading, unloading zone out front. The hotel is on an extremely busy street.
Public parking lot was 2 blocks away, requiring us to traverse uneven terrain, busy streets with luggage.
I did suggest to the hotel that they invest in Valets, negotiate a loading zone w/the city.

Had a wonderful time. It was very clean and comfy. Loved the style of the rooms. Everyone was very nice and polite. A little sad I was unable to dine at the restaurant since their gas wasn’t working. I guess next time!

This hotel is overrated. The room was very outdated, and the pictures do not reflect the reality. There was mold in the shower and around the toilet. Outdated, unused bathroom fixtures have not been taken down. One of the bathroom lights was burnt out. The hotel is positioned nicely to walk through town, but is extremely noisy. The unloading area for trucks was across the street and there was significant noise very early in the morning as the trucks unload their supplies for the surrounding businesses. Do not stay here.

When we arrived we were given a room with two single bed, we booked a king bed. The staff was able to move us for the second night of our stay. The staff was helpful in making the correction.

Great location. Public transportation is right across the street. Easy minute walk to all the action, shops and bars/restaurants. Room was nice though a little outdated, hotel is going through renovations. I would stay again.

Highly recommend!! Fantastic staff- great location. Excellent place for a comfortable convenient stay in Galway. I stayed there four days (midweek) for vacation. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I was blown away by their hospitality!
I was in a newly renovated room, which was very clean and comfortable. There’s a little traffic noise, but they have good windows that block it out, and the streets were pretty quiet at night.
The location Cannot be Beat!! It is a short 10 minute walk to the heart of the music/ pub scene in the Latin quarter. It’s only a three minute walk from the train station and a one minute walk from the bus terminal. Very close to where most of the day tours leave from. As a solo, female traveler, I felt totally safe walking at all hours. Very nice hotel- I thought it was a great value. Nice cafe attached to the hotel in addition to the restaurant and bar.

The beds were quite hard and pillows were too firm making for an uncomfortable night if you are a side sleeper. The shower was extremely small and could easily have been bigger given the overall size of the entire bathroom and it really seemed like a lot of the updates were not well thought out. There were no bedside lamps, just a backlight around the entire headboard, which was too much light when one of us was trying to sleep while the other stayed awake to read.
It would also be helpful for out of town guests to know that this place is extremely popular for all of the bachelorette parties that happen every weekend throughout the year.

Excellent location; kind staff; comfortable, stylish rooms; surprisingly quiet. A bit pricey and could benefit from small details such as a luggage rack, refrigerator, and a wider selection of TV channels. But all in all a very nice stay.

Very nice hotel and good location in Galway. Easy access to town and the train station. Very nice and comfy beds. Hotel was undergoing some renovations when we visited but you didn’t really notice that.
Unfortunately you did notice the loud music coming from the hotel bar/restaurant. Practically made the beds bounce to the beat of the music..Lots of activity in the corridors very early in the morning as well with people banging on doors and shouting…the hotel seem to attract a younger crowd looking to party.. So if you want peace and quiet this isn’t really the place for you..or maybe they have rooms that aren’t as effected by the noise from the bar. Then you should ask for one of them.
We were also give an accessible room even though we had no need for that and honestly the bathroom was a disaster with the wash basin nearly at floor level, same with the toilet..
The food at the restaurant was very nice but the bartenders should really lighten up a little bit and maybe try and smile sometimes...

Perfect place to stay while visiting Galway's Christmas markets. It was walking distance to ask the Great stuff, and the parking was convenient.

The staff are among the most helpful and friendly one can hope for. The location of the hotel is excellent especially for travelers by train. I did not eat at the restaurant but the Wylde cafe that is linked to the hotel is terrific. My one hesitation has to do with temperature control in the room. One evening it got quite chilly and I could not figure out the heating system. No thermostat. On the other hand there was a lovely long bathtub to soak in so I managed to warm up.

A cute hotel with lovely staff and a convenient location. But so noisy. The street noise is to be expected given the location, but I didn’t expect a wedding reception to be held directly below our room. The room floors and our beds vibrated from the music until 2am. A great place to party but not to sleep.

Loved our time at the Hyde with one exception. Didn’t sleep well! Beds were very comfortable. Pillows were awful!!! Too big and too hard!! Also big fancy TV and very few channels. Stayed two nights and didn’t even bother to turn it on second night. Meals at the restaurant were wonderful!! Ate there both nights because the food was so good!!!
