Great location and amazing room and facilities. Relaxing spa and great food. Perfect romantic night away. Loved the complimentary salcombe gin.

Lovely, up-market hotel in Salcombe. Very nice staff. Loved the free G&T in our room on the first night. Lovely meal in the restaurant. Parking also good.
Only gripe was the hated bottles of shampoo/body wash locked and positioned so that you have to stand up to get any when having a the bath. Please bring back the little bottles and bars of soap!

My Wife and I had an amazing two night stay for our wedding anniversary.

Excellent hotel. Convenient location and fantastic staff.

From the moment we arrived we knew from the warm friendly welcome we received from all staff that we had made the right choice. The room was clean, tidy, comfortable and a view to die for.
We will return.

Totally wonderful

Centrally located but don’t choose road facing rooms if quiet is required. Bathroom was tired in places. Spa and gym great but no views from the spa pool.
10.0
Lovely, bathroom could have been a bit cleaner in terms of damp walls needing to be wiped clean.
Spa was beautiful but the general temperature was far too hot and could not stay in the area for long to relax as I would have hoped as it was a little u comfortable. Otherwise a good place to stay

Staying at the Harbour Hotel really was a very special experience. We had a beautiful room over looking the estuary. We loved the decor and the view. The bed was very comfortable and the complimentary Salcombe Gin and tonic with ice and lemon brought to our room was a lovely treat. Only disappointment was not being allowed to drink our glass of wine in the restaurant in the afternoon so we could look at the view - even though it was empty bar 2 tables at the e time. If we had - it definitely would have been 5 stars from us. Everything else was perfect

Property is tired. Stains on the bedroom cushions. Minibar products out of date. No designer toiletries in the bedrooms. Only Continental included for the breakfast and wanting to charge an additional £10 pn for parking. For the premium charge for staying here, they are taking shortcuts. The sun loungers were left all over the patio area. They were not even tidied up for the following day. Having stayed here for the last 3 years, we will no longer be booking for the future.

Lovely property with stunning views.

Fantastic views from estuary facing rooms.
Friendly and efficient reception staff.
Great service at breakfast, on the terrace, and in the bar/restaurant.
Car parking is on-site - just leave it to them to sort it out!

We had a lovely few days down in Salcombe - the hotel is beautiful and everyone is so friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Very friendly staff, parking terrible main course dinners not great. Very expensive for what you got rooms nice but not worth 350 pounds per night.

Fabulous location. Nice room. Rather costly, particularly given the fact the spa is small and hot cooked breakfast is not included.

The stay was average, although the hotel was ok, it didn't really live upto the price tag in my opinion. Booked a deluxe room with best estuary view, one of the reasons we booked this room is the hotel website described each room of this type to have a free standing bath with a view and showed pictures of the free standing bath in front of a window with a view of the estuary. Our room did not have one of these baths.
The cleanliness was not great, dirty windows, dirty patio furniture, cigarette butts and algae on the balcony, cobwebs on the main room window. Reception staff were great and friendly, restaurant service did not live upto expectations.

Views were exceptional such a peaceful and relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend- staff were fantastic

Good - The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious.
Bad - For the price paid the room was not overly clean - coffee stains on the radiator and hair in bath from previous occupant. Dust in bathroom. Although the view from the room was superb the balcony was poorly maintained with rust stains everywhere including the small table provided. Continental breakfast very limited. Additional £10 charge for cooked breakfast was insulting for £350 room charge per night. Parking charge of £10 per night also insulting. Would not return to this hotel.

We went to the hotel a couple of years ago. We had a nice big room, estuary view but on the same floor as the patio/drinking area. This time I paid for balcony and sea view, which was nice, but the room was on the upper floor in the corner in like an attic room. It was small with not a lot of room due to the big but great bed. We expected more of the same like the last room so that was disappointing. I also find the menu limited as we are not real fish eaters, and expensive with a 12% service charge which ramped up the bill and you can’t be mean and refuse to pay it. The food and drink
bill was over £400 for 3 nights and we are not big drinkers. It’s weird because we were really looking forward to our stay. It wasn’t a disaster but I don’t think we’ll go back. A week later we stayed in a hotel in Bournemouth with sea view and great bar food for a couple of nights and enjoyed it more. The staff were fine, service fine and it’s a lovely location and worth a visit.

Hotel was overall very nice, pleasant and members of the team were great (reception staff).
However, we had a bit of a mediocre experience at the jetty restaurant where the food didn’t reflect the charges and we had long wait times.
Room was nice but some elements need updating such as the hairdryer and the coffee set up. The view though was so good and the complimentary gin on arrival was a really nice touch.

The quality and consistency of service was fantastic. Every single member of staff we met was genuine, interested, keen to help and friendly. The whole experience oozed quality. Highly recommended.

As per usual our stay was just perfect.

Not our first time staying in a harbour hotel, and on the whole we weren't disappointed, but there were a couple of frustrating elements which were easily avoided.
Firstly, there was one member of staff (a young man) who stuck out like a sore thumb in his attitude. All the other staff were helpful and polite, this person was the exact opposite - rude, unhelpful, entirely unvolunteering to help, and even sarcastically said no when I asked for my car keys...
Secondly, at no point during the process (booking, call before arrival, on arrival, when keys were left, in the car park, in the hotel room etc) did anyone mention the £10 per night charge for the car park. Apart from not being told, I would not expect to pay £250 for a night in Salcombe in early December to then be slapped with an additional £10 car parking charge - comfortably put a sour taste in our mouths on check out.
Thirdly - on enjoyment of the spa facilities we were then rudely interrupted by 14 young children coming into the spa, running up and down opening privacy curtains and making such a noise that all adults were forced to leave. Again, warning on arrival, board near the spa, at the spa reception etc to avoid these times.
On the whole, the property is in an excellent location, is well maintained and the staff (generally) are very helpful and attentive. Shame the above spoiled the experience.

Hotel great, Staff first class, Really good food.
We will defiantly be back for another stay.

The Staff are exceptional, easily as good as the views from the hotel, and that's mighty impressive!

General decor and cleanliness needs attention

My room had a small high window with no view or daylight as a brick wall really upset as paid £309
There were no other rooms available
This was a treat for the last day of my coastal trip . Discussing value for money .. very oppressive dark room
Not worth anywhere near the cost

One of the prettiest views anywhere in England from the balcony overlooking the estuary. Rooms are well decorated, spacious and have free gin. What’s not to like?

Absolutely faultless- the staff were all amazing , courteous and couldnt do enough to help!! We will definitely be returning next year
Wonderful

Unbelievable view from large balcony.

We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the staff were very friendly, food good and location very convenient for Salcombe. Our room was what is called 'cosy' and indeed, it was small!
The hotel has a unique feature of a turntable for cars however we did not use it.
The only issue was the lack of aircon which in summer is now probably a necessity and the small fan was not really adequate.
