The Gwesty’r Marine Hotel is part of an older Victorian Era district. It shows its age at times, but the overall experience is outstanding. The people are very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable except that it got pretty hot on the one really sunny day we had (which was unusual for November). If you are expecting a modern hotel with all the newest amenities, you will find more issues. If you want a great place to stay, within walking distance of the city center, and don’t mind some historical ambience, you will not be disappointed. The restaurant also has great choices for dinner.

Nice hotel but a bit tired. Room clean and staff very polite. Was surprised to be charged for the dog. Did not notice any mention of this during the booking and thought £20 per night was a bit steep.

The hotel room was very cold !
They did not open the central heating system even if we say it many times.
The receptionist was rude,
After I asked 5 times about heating system , they gave me a external heater but they didnt send it to my room , they gave it to me at the lobby so I had to carry 10 kg heater to my room!
Omg I would never ever stay that hotel again.

Nice hotel on the seafront, good parking behind hotel and easy to walk to hospital for work.
Large room with nice sea view.

A very nice hotel that is right on the sea front. Beautiful inside with a very nice bar and friendly staff. Will definitely stay again.

This is our 6th time here, perfect location, quiet but easy reach for what Aberystwyth has to offer. Staff are always so helpful and friendly. We always have a Seaview. Parking onsite and wiifii. Love coming here. Its just perfect for us. On a sunny day, our view from the window of the sea 😍

This is a nicely located hotel across from beach and easy walk to everything in town. Appreciated the free parking.

Steam room was cold, (not switched on). Electric sauna took about twenty minutes to achieve acceptable temperature.
False Alarm going off about midnight interrupted sleep.
Handily placed for town.

Lovely Hotel with a perfect sea view.
4.0
Broken shower head and blocked drain; advertised EV charge not available; unwelcoming reception; requested room unavailable to Expedia customers; poorly designed room; no proper closet; no safe; dirty stained carpet; dirty windows; no lift to second floor; no room service menu but advertised room service; room in separate annex away from reception and dining and lounge. General feeling of neglect and lack of care.

Came for a couple of days with the gf. Booked a deluxe room for the view. The view was great but the cold air came through because the windows aren't insulated. The shower was not very warm and the staff doesn't clean and provide you with new towels, just rearrange stuff as if they cleaned. The towels were smelly. The breakfast was limited in options and everything was very old, as if the hotel was from 30 years ago.

Excellent stay in the heart of Aberystwyth with view looking over the sea. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely book again.

Room 121 - Good family space, room was tired and needed a good clean, bed linen and towels were fresh.
WiFi was poor and ended up tethering to my own mobile internet.
Great views as the room overlooked the promenade

The property was well maintained, the room clean and pleasant, the staff was helpful and courteous. It was a great location, within walking distance of many shops and attractions.

Great beach location and hotel restaurant serves lovely food. Breakfast choice could be better. Room reasonable.

Birthday celebration not been recognised
Didn’t book with breakfast or add breakfast at reception as they are stop serving breakfast at 9:30 it’s school holidays and it should be at least until 10am like most of the hotel does.
Check in and out time is not like other hotels too 4pm check in and 11 am check out and loosing 5 hours of your stay. Additional to that reception said 10:30 is check out and I said on website it say 11am then he said 11am is fine.
Rooms are not decorated like bar and reception area and no shower gel in the rooms
Not great value for money for weekdays Wednesday and Thursday paid £315 just room only.

An older hotel, but don’t let this put you off. Sea new rooms are especially nice to stay in. Parking can be a bit tight, but that’s true of Aberystwyth generally.

Didn’t include breakfast with 3rd party booking so wasn’t happy not been informed it would be if we booked direct. Bathroom not very clean and water kept blocking in the shower.

I would really truly avoid this hotel, the main reception area looks modern but don’t be fooled by that. The rooms are in terrible state, dated from the 80’s . This place needs shutting down to be honest and don’t get me started on how poor the breakfast was.

The hotel was near the town centre and it was in a place where it was nice and quiet, so there wasn’t much noise. Also the beach being in front of the hotel was another reason to stay.

Well maintained premises with good house keeping. Breakfast was good and affordable with slight changes made to makevit interesting.
Location on pier street with so many good restaurants at walking distance is a plus point

Sea view was the highlight. Simply superb from the large bay window of our superior room. Room was refurbished and in great condition - new bathroom. Bar was great - superb staff and a great range of ales and other drinks.
Breakfast was average - low quality sausages and bacon. Black puddings, mushrooms, hash browns and cooked order poached eggs were good. Some staff were very engaging, some really didn’t want to be there.
Easy to park and just a superb location. Lovely weekend.

The bedroom was large and roomy with a fabulous seaview. The bed was very comfortable and large. However, the decor was a little shabby and tired in places - stains on the sofa, toothpaste on the wall of the bathroom and window frames in need of renovation. I wouldn't have minded any of those things but Ipaid £180 (extra to have breakast included in that price, £165 without). That is a lot of money for something that was a bit scruffy around the edges. But it was comfortable and it was lovely to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the sea just metres away.

Beautiful view of the ocean from room (suite with 2 rooms both with views) 119 on the second floor. Friendly staff! Clean room.

Great hotel. Car charger not working 😞

Hotel was ok. Rooms in need of renovation as were looking very dated. Shower was useless with a feeble pressure and ran cold frequently.
Booked breakfast but at £15 per head was way overpriced for the offering.
Lack of choice in cereals/fruit. Toast was cold and eggs were swimming in oil.

Breathtaking views. The room was beautiful and the sea view was a must have. The jacuzzi tub was HUGE and amazing. Would definitely stay here again. Parking was a little cramped but free with a stay and safe.

Staff on reception desk initially ignored my friend and my presence and did not make a good initial impression.
Ballroom used for breakfast was somewhat tired and lacklustre but the food was OK.

The staff were great, food and drinks dinner excellent. Breakfast buffet average. I would like to see the dressing table and giant chairs near window gone from bedrooms. To much clutter in the room. A little bit dated but could be improved easily if clutter from bedrooms removed. Very clean and bed comfortable on positside.
