We absolutely love the Citizen M Bowery! This hotel is close to every great neighborhood, subways and any type of restaurant you want. For small rooms, the layout and storage is very thoughtful so you don't feel cramped. I appreciate that everything is digital from your phone or the ipad in the room, however, on this trip the ipad wasn't working and the drapes weren't working. Love the bar and breakfast, great place to grab something and work in a quiet space or have a conversation that you can actually hear! Super clean, fun, inviting, highly recommend!

The hotel is beautiful. Very comfortable beds and we had a great view of the city. I loved everything about the actual hotel BUT there are aggressive transients congregated outside the hotel at all times. We would not stay her again because of safety reasons. We were verbally assaulted every time we stepped outside.

It was a nice room with most of the usual amenities. The tablet (to control all aspects of the room - lighting, temperature, TV, etc) was a very nice touch. We were not comfortable, as a couple, with the room though. The bathroom, in particular, did not offer audible privacy (yeah, you know what I mean). I would say it would be very good for a single person, just not for a couple who are accustomed to that kind of privacy.

Place is great! Check in was okay… it could have been better. The lady at the front desk kept assisting others while it was my turn. She also kept talking to her colleague instead of helping.

Very pleasant stay. Clean, great location in manhattan. Super helpful staff. Easy check in and out. Beautiful rooftop bar! Highly recommend.

It was excellent! All people working here are super nice. BUT It’ll be great if the toilet paper brand is changed! Oh so bad

Great staff, cool comfy room, walkable to lots of fun stuff

Good choice for price, super comfy bed, modern amenities and everything you need in a room

So, presuming you already know the obvious fact that the rooms are super tiny (feel kind of like a berth on a ship), this hotel was a lovely stay. The room had a huge window with a great view, making the room still feel open. The staff were great. There were a lot of really great restaurants within a couple blocks walk. LOVED the rooftop deck. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is great but breakfast is like a zoo. Lots of laptop warriors and I think a lot of local students in main area. I tried twice to get breakfast but wasn’t able to find a table either time. As a result I wouldnt stay again which is a shame as super nice building and great staff.
2.5
Only complaint is the bathroom door doesn’t have a lock and so it feels like you’re exposed a bit. Otherwise very clean, very cozy, and the bed was especially comfortable.
2.5
Cozy room but perfection location to everything in SoHo!!
1.5
This hotel has high ratings but is not above average. Smaller rooms than average (even for NY) and my room had man issues (leaking sink faucet, faulty shower door, tech issues, and no maid service). For NYC prices I suggest you go somewhere else. The location also isn’t great unless you need to be in LES.

Lots of people hanging outside the hotel. Tons of graffiti. The hotel is very out of place here.

The room was 75% bed. It was nice and clean and a good place to sleep but didn’t want to spend any time at the hotel because the room was so very small. Also it was weird to check in yourself and have to make your own room key. Meanwhile someone was there to walk you through it, but that just seemed unnecessary. I just traveled 5 hours to get here, and I have to make my own key? But again, the room was nice and clean and everyone was friendly

Great experience, room size was perfectly adequate and well designed. Staff were excellent and the rooftop bar had a 360 view and lovely drinks

The AC unit had a water leak and the water was leaking into a metal and made a noise all night , I came for work and I couldn’t sleep. To get in and out of the shower, you go through a toilet and you have only 2 feet to go Through .

Loved the hotel, room, rooftop bar and staff! The people that hang out around the hotel at night are very sketchy and will ask for money. The hotel did have security that stood out there to keep these people moving on. Regardless, I would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, high floor with amazing views. General devote and Roof top bar was very cool.

The social atmosphere in the hotel was great. Employee at the roof bar not friendly for no reason. The rooms are not worth the price per night even with all the tech...too crampy but take that with a grain of salt. OMG subway station on Bowery (J, Z) just outside the hotel is so filthy and smells pretty bad, you've been warned. The front desk and basement bar employees were great. Thanks

Great property great location to Broadway the hotel is very clean and the rooftop bar is amazing.

Late night the rooftop bar is noisy and can be heard from 19th flooor. Else is great.

Room was like a tiny little cocoon, so quiet, would definitely stay again.

Convenient location, clean and modern room, a little small but fine for 1-2 guests. Quiet in the upper floors, and the work lounge is perfect for weekday business. Authentic New York "ambience" outside the hotel.

Great location, maybe avoid the immediate surroundings early in the morning.
The rooftop bar makes this hotel!
5.0
Great hotel with amazing public spaces - specifically the lobby,
cafe/bar, and the rooftop patio/bar.
The rooms are small (think cruise ship cabin) and can really only accommodate two people (who really like each other). But the hotel is in a great location with excellent views from the higher floors, attentive and friendly staff and convenient amenities.

Always great. I’ve stayed here multiple times and it’s a great location, good bars and restaurants nearby, Soho is just across the street.
4.0
No complimentary water in the room

Service was great!

Clean and simple as usual

The hotel is great! However, the size of the rooms and glass wall make it uncomfortable, for even the closest couple, to use to restroom. God forbid last night's dinner didn't agree with you!

My stay was nice and relaxing. All of the staff that I interacted with were nice, welcoming, and helpful.

Overall, it’s a nice property. The service is great. A couple negatives. The property is undergoing construction and there are numerous homeless people in front of the property. A minor thing was the layout of the room. The bathroom sink is not in the bathroom and the bathroom door doesn’t give you complete privacy.

Had a few vagrants in the area. But no one harassed the guests

Employees are happy, competent. Facilities are clean. Good breakfast.
Location on Bowery ok... homeless people prevail...

Weekend stay in NY. The hotel is very nice with a modern theme. The lobby smelled amazing and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was small and had a city view. The bathroom is similar to those on a cruise ship but larger and nicer. The sink is outside of the toilet/shower roomThe room is controlled by an iPad. There was a small refrigerator just big enough for (2) 33oz waters and small fruit bowls.
The rooftop area is beautiful and offers amazing sunrise and sunset views.
The reasons for only 4 stars:
1. The ac is not as strong as I would have preferred. I like a chilled room 65°, I had to repeatedly reset the thermostat and on the last night I requested fan.
2. The phone in my room was defective which cause me to have to call their main global number, then get transferred to the front desk.
Overall, I would stay again.

The room was larger than expected, with the space cleverly utilized. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and despite the central location, it was surprisingly quiet. The hotel is conveniently situated right by several subway stations, making it easy to explore the city. A highlight was definitely the rooftop bar, where we had an amazing view of the 4th of July fireworks over the Hudson River. A fantastic stay!

property was fine but drug addiction and homelessness right out front
1.5
The hotel is nice and the employees are great but I’d think twice considering the drug addicts out front of the hotel. It’s right next to a shelter and unfortunately all day and all night there are some pretty scary things happening outside plus so much of their trash littered everywhere. I stayed at this hotel years ago and didn’t have this issue but now it’s truly a problem on this block. Room is nice, bed is comfortable and staff is great but the housekeeper never cleaned my room and I was there for 4 nights. Also the last impression was the front desk calling at 11:40 to tell me checkout was 11am which I thought was 12pm as I’m a gold member here and told them I would be down by 12 which of course was followed by someone knocking on my door at 11:55. I always think this is the worse way to end your stay at a hotel but I guess this is the last impression they want to show.
