We arrived at the hotel during an atrocious spell of weather- Storm Ashley was approaching. We were welcomed by the lovely Roseanne who was very friendly, professional and helpful.
The hotel is in need of updating. It is a peculiar mix of 1970's kitsch, 1990's pattern and oriental design. The hotel does not appear to have been maintained properly as several things weren't working or were missing.
The central heating in the hotel was not working. We were provided with a small electric heater for the room which was helpful but the rest of the hotel was very cold.
We went for dinner in the restaurant as the weather was becoming quite wild outside. The food was lovely and served on hot plates but as the restaurant/hotel was so cold the food became cold very quickly. Such a shame.
The wind was very high during our first night due to the storm. There was a problem with the window seal and there was a constant sound like a very loud, angry wasp...
I had to phone to reception for someone to come and clean the bathroom as there was a large collection of hair around the edges. The remote control for the main light dimmer wasn't working and we couldn't get the table lamp to work. The staff were quick to respond and the bathroom was cleaned to a higher standard.
We felt the staff were working extremely hard with limited resources.
Thankfully some heating did come on during our second day.
Lovely staff in a hotel that could be lovely with an upgrade and proper maintenance.

Lovely room with loch view. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast and brilliant staff.

The service was 5/5 stars and the people were very helpful. Location is also prime for Fort William and walkable to the town.
The restaurant food was not very good in quality (would recommend going somewhere in town like Ben Nevis or the Geographer) and the room was much under par for what we expected. 3 star expereince

Location and service was excellent. Food was very good. The rooms are a bit old. Venting the corridors is needed as there are stale cooking smells.

A comfortable older hotel. Bed were comfortable and plenty of free bottled water is provided. Highlight of the place was friednly and outstanding personnel.

Good one night stay, halfway between Isle of Skye and Glasgow for us. Central location, across from the water and close to hiking and outdoor opportunities. The restaurant looked nice, but we arrived later than planned and ate at a nearby Wetherspoon pub. Older property but had some opulence to the decor, which made it interesting.

Towels had blood stain on them. No mineral water. No minibar. No room service. Very poor experience.

The property advertised laundry as an amenity..apparently the laundry has been out of service for quite some time with no plans to have it fixed. The showers were either full on hot or full on cold. The staff was very good but treated poorly by the management and bemoaned the fact that the place was too old and in poor repair. The location is fair if you plan on taking the train but I will stay somewhere else next time.

Friendly staff. Hotel was clean but very tired. Breakfast was ok.

Disgustingly horrible hotel. Save your time, money, and energy and DO NOT STAY HERE. The hotel called us multiple times to confirm what time we would be arriving. By the third call within a few hours we were annoyed and confused. We then learned on a later call that they were “experiencing technical difficulties” and could no longer honor our reservation the night of check in as we were driving there. When we asked what the technical difficulties were and if they had just given our room away they just kept repeating "technical difficulties”. Upon pressing them on the matter they revealed “the ceilings caving in”. Which they knew about before we even booked but chose to scramble and wait (till 8pm as we were driving to check in) to say that we no longer have a room. Instead of giving us another room or paying to put us in a nearby hotel. They sent us to a bed and breakfast that they assured me had the same accommodations as their hotel. Then upon our arrival to the bed and breakfast we learned that they lied about everything and sent us to a b&b that was new and not set up yet. There was no breakfast, no WiFi, no heating, no hot water, no free onsite parking, a room so small I couldn’t fit my baby’s portable crib, and they failed to inform us that the B&B only accepted cash which we did not have that large a sum on us. I attempted to reach out to the hotel yet they ignored my calls, messages, and did absolutely nothing to make it up to my family. Absolutely unprofessional!

We booked this hotel at the last minute and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the hotel overall. We would stay here again for sure. Reception and restaurant staff were excellent and helpful.

The staff were very accommodating to our late arrival from Scotrail. The rooms are very quaint and we enjoyed the unique furnishings and atmosphere of the hotel. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great view from our rooms 39 & 41. All the staff were wonderful! We’d highly recommend this hotel to stay in Fort William!

Decent spot close to everything, an older hotel but our choices were limited so that's why we chose. Not a bad stay, friendly staff clean room, ok breakfast

There were bedbugs on my bed and I woke up with dozens of bug bites on my body, my neck, and the back of my head. I brought up the issue with the reception lady and she said they would check it but insisted there are no bedbugs in Scotland. I googled it later not surprisingly there are bedbugs in Scotland this season. BE AWARE OF THAT!!

As a
Property the place is a mash up. We stayed in the annex that up the stairs, out a fire door then down another flight of stairs. The design and number of carpet choices was mostly a miss from different section of hotel. Personnel however was very nice and willing to help.

This is a very nice and adorable hotel in Fort William. Can't tell from the outside just how nice it is. The hotel staff was very friendly, kind and helpful. Th employee when I checked in (Vanessa or Veronica, I forget) was very sweet and helpful and I enjoyed talking to her for a bit upon checkin. Dinner at the restaurant was tasty and the staff there also very kind and helpful. The hotel is very close to city center and able to walk to shopping or food or down to the lake. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable room. The hotel is dated but clean. They provided snacks & water bottles(glass) free of charge. No complaints.

Very very bad experience with high room rate. First day check in the radiator was malfunction, then the manager offered a dusty and dirty portable heater. The hair dryer also occasionally out of order. The second day the room was cleaned with used towels left and room and floor was not cleaned. The third day no cleansing and also NO hot water supply. Though staff were tried to help and offered bottle of wine, but you can imagine how bad the experience during the stay. Will tell my friends not to stay in this group of hotel again.

Staff was wonderful. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to assist us.
The hotel was quaint and full of character.
Also, we tried breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant during our stay and both were delicious!

The hotel claims to have upgraded rooms, but the room were small, dirty, like something from the 1970s. The flat screen tv (only modern thing) was hanging on the wall at a 30 degree angle - missing screws from the mounting bracket. B’fast is over at 9am - great when you’re on holiday.
Only redeeming factor was very nice staff. I feel sorry that they have to work in such a shabby environment.
Definitely not value for money would never stay here again.

Very pretty interior but building is quite old and the lift doesn't go to all the upstairs rooms. The room was very nice but on front of property near a busy road very noisy. Good view of the harbor but I would have preferred a quiet room

Fantastic breakfast the best we had in the UK. Good staff that were very attentive.

The staff were the stand out part of our stay at this hotel, so so lovely and couldn't do enough for us.
We ate at the restaurant and the food was nice.
Rooms were perfect for what we needed it for, we only stayed one night, they even packages us up a sandwich and some snacks for our climb as we had already paid for the breakfast, but wanted to take it with us.
Service really was amazing, good location, would recommend for a short stay.

this hotel sells on it's view location, which turns out to be nothing special. It is maybe a 2 star hotel. all furniture is junk. bed felt like a piece of plywood with springs coming through. many stairs to climb to get to rooms. the lift is the size of a coffin, and felt like one. The foreign staff are congenial and try very hard to make the stay pleasant. food is okay at best. We would never stay in this chain's hotel again anywhere.
