About the property
Formerly used as the stables on the estate, Roupel East Wing is the perfect place for families or groups of friends to relax and unwind amidst nature. This quaint, Georgian home enjoys a combination of modern décor and original features throughout, an open-plan living space and 38 acres of breath-taking grounds to explore. Its idyllic and unspoilt location provides an excellent choice for those wishing to explore what Devon has to offer with rolling countryside, moorlands, valleys and spectacular beaches are all easily accessible.
The space
Step through the front door and into the open-plan living room/kitchen. The exposed wooden beams encapsulate the originality of the property, yet the modern décor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The country-style kitchen provides everything you should need to self-cater with ease including an electric range cooker, a combi microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. Gather around the two-seater island for a quick bite to eat or head over to the six-seater dining table for an evening of socialising, sipping the finest of wines and sociable meals.
Once replenished, head over to the cosy sitting area which features two plush green sofas and an electric log burner. Get comfortable with your favourite book in hand, or switch on the Smart TV for a relaxing film or two.
Venture upstairs to the first floor where you will find three beautifully designed bedrooms with south-facing views over the lake. The master bedroom features a double bed dressed in luxurious soft furnishings, complementary artwork, a Smart TV and an en-suite shower room. Next door is the twin bedroom, designed with an elegant floral theme and perfect for two children or two single adult guests. Meanwhile, the final bedroom features a double bed with earthy décor and seascape-themed artwork.
The first floor is complete with a shared family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
Outside, you have use of the kitchen garden with a bench, chairs and a fire pit. You can also help yourselves to any seasonal produce.
You will also have access to the estate's 38 acres of stunning grounds, including 25 acres of private semi-ancient woodlands, 10 acres of private parkland with a 350-year-old oak, 3 acres of gardens, a fire pit and a picnic area with solid tables and benches beside the stream. If you are feeling adventurous during your stay, the owners provide boats, paddleboards and canoes for use on the lake. Or you can enjoy the more simple pleasure of feeding the resident ducks or playing a game of football, rounders and bowls on the lawn.
