Woops! Our first review was mistakenly for another hotel. Hotel Australasia is better, unique and a really delightful experience. The old hotel has been extensively renovated and beautifully decorated. There are rich strong colours and artworks, particularly with an appropriate seafaring theme. Nicely chosen furnishings and fittings and some exposed brickwork and a panel of original plaster and lath in the bar emphasise the old. Our beautiful room, with a glimpse of sea, was an amalgam of two originally smaller ones, and the bathroom section included a free-standing ball and claw bath as well as a modern walk-in shower - and an armchair. Handy. Our bed and pillows were beautifully comfortable.
We had dinner in the lovely dark blue dining room and the food was above our expectations - delicious and very generous. Similarly the continental breakfast, with an optional toasted sandwich included.
The staff were very friendly and pleasant.
The hotel is on the main street and perfectly positioned for any exploration of Eden and there is included parking out the back.
Heartily recommended.

Nettes Hotel, aber sehr kleine Zimmer. Was extrem unpraktisch ist.

Alles in allem kein guter Aufenthalt.

Terrific rooms with just a few fine details holding back a top score. Enjoyed the ambience and the balconies throughout. The reception staff was very warm, welcoming and knowledgable, a real asset. Generally staff were very good throughout. The breakfast packs were terrific.
The bistro food was having a bad day: gummy shark wasn’t right, chips were too blonde and there was more sauce than steak in the steak sandwich.

Absolutely beautiful refurbishment, elegant and the lift made things easy.
Tiny room and somewhat impractical. Don’t take a large case!

A beautifully renovated old pub with tasteful decorations and a pleasant vibe. Comfortable beds and amenities. Nice views from the balconies.
The breakfast was a real disappointment. It was to be delivered to the room, but didn't arrive. We had to ask twice and when it did appear it was just a box of items from what looked like the local supermarket.

Great renovation and excellent staff, location right in centre of town, was a bit worried might be a bit noisy ring a bar, but we had no problems
Our room, “Bass” was pretty small, no problem if your travelling light but we had 2 big cases. Open plan nature of the bathroom takes some coordination! Bar is lovely but food choices little limited

A beautifully renovated 120 year old building. Our studio was spacious and clean. Well situated in the Main Street, the hotel also served good food at a reasonable price. The chicken skewers from the charcoal smoker were excellent! Staff were friendly and helpful.
Nothing.

Beautifully renovated with a great sense of charm. A real credit to to the renovation team and everyone involved.
Property itself was terrific (actually better than terrific!), but was let down by the dinner service. I guess the expectation of walking into this beautiful property just wasn’t matched by the dinner service. Im sure that will improve given this is the first Christmas period post Covid and maybe they will provide a more intimate dining experience for couples in their beautiful dining room. Time will tell I guess…

Das Hotel ist toll und stilvoll eingerichtet. Das Personal ist super nett und das Restaurant ist auch gut,.
Alles gut!

The hotel is beautifully renovated and decorated. The bed was very comfortable. Good WiFi and streaming services on TV.
The room was too small. No room for even a chair. No door on the bathroom and toilet therefore no privacy. Nowhere for suitcase or clothes. Included breakfast had to be requested and was just a box in room not cooked breakfast as expected. My husband hit his head on corner of tv when coming in from balcony. I stubbed my toe on small step between room and bathroom. Glass partition in shower not long enough therefore water ran onto bathroom floor. Not worth the $340 per night charged

Ganz neu, sehr ansprechendes tolles Design, freundliches hilfsbereites Personal.
Zimmer zwar sehr, sehr schön eingerichtet, aber etwas eng und wenig Ablagemöglichkeit.
Frühstück wurde durch einen Gutschein ersetzt.

Lovely building returned to a classic style. All public areas and our hotel room are really well presented. The bar/ restaurant areas were really good and welcoming.
We had the Bass room and the wardrobe space (no drawer space) is enough for a weekend stay only. Not a fan of the open bathroom/bedroom concept but it does appear to be popular these days. Car parking is a public car park at the back, not much security

Sehr freundliches Personal. Ausserordentlich designte Zimmer und Gänge. Das Gegenteil von 08-15.
Frühstück vor halb Acht wäre angenehm gewesen (wegen früher Abreise).

The room was perfect for our overnight stay on the drive back to Melbourne - very clean and the renovation is beautiful. The lift to the first floor is very handy with luggage. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the complimentary non-alcoholic fridge and snacks was a thoughtful touch!
A bit noisy as it is above a pub but that was to be expected - the advertised ocean view is quite minimal and the Juliette balcony overlooks the outdoor dining and kitchen so we weren't keen on sitting outside. Overall, no major complaints! We were offered complimentary breakfast due to a slight hiccup checking in but we left super early so didn't use it. Appreciated the offer though!

Probably the best regional refurb of a hotel/pub we’ve ever seen … if you’re in Eden just go there !
If you advertise as a cocktail bar, make sure you’ve got olives for martini’s!

This property is amazing. Stunningly renovated, crystal clean, dog friendly, beds like a dream, delectable Italian food, house cooked pastries, amazing breakfast and friendly non pretentious staff. And it’s dog friendly and you are not relegated to the horrible rooms with a furry friend. There is a great wine list, coffee, amazing sitting room and enjoy a wine on the balcony! A big thank you to all the staff who made our 5 days fantastic - breakfast, dinner and cleaning people. The tour information was great - even though we turned up on the days when things were closed! You will not forget the breakfasts either - we were so full we did not eat till the evening!
Not a thing - best place we have stayed in NSW.

The hotel was beautiful and well located in the center of Eden. Loved how everything tied back to the history of the place.
Some confusion over pricing (for breakfast - additional coffee/juice charged for) and also over extra $100 for the room. Which was not listed on original booking and which made it an extremely expensive room.

room, staff. facilities excellent. The lounge, bar and breakfast area were delightful
the food, dinner especially, left a lot to be desired

This place is terrific and I can’t rate it high enough. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. The rooms were beautifully furnished with lovely decor and had a relaxing atmosphere. Everything about the hotel had a quaint & elegant atmosphere, including the Dining Room & Lounge. Breakfast was exceptional.
The staff must be commended for their friendliness.
Our overnight stay was most memorable.
Having to leave after only one nights stay.

The renovation of this property is exceptional. The linens , towels and bathrobes were lovely. The girl in the bar was great and made an excellent cocktail.
I believe we had one of the smaller rooms and there was nowhere to put a bag. There wasn’t a towel hook by the basin or any in the bathroom and no door on the bathroom. The pasta was fairly tasteless.

Amazing renovation. Comfortable king size beds. Excellent breakfast. Efficient and friendly staff. Thoughtful touches.
Limited space to put suitcases in our room.

Room was gorgeous! Comfortable furnishings and gorgeous bathroom
No wall between the bathroom and main room made the stay a bit awkward as we were friends sharing the room.
