Lovely peaceful cottage within a mile of the A1. A really warm welcome, excellent evening meal and breakfast. Shaan and Sef could not have been more welcoming.

Excellent breakfast and Shaan and Sef were delightful hosts
Water in the room would have been appreciated and the bathroom mirror was so low it could not be used for applying makeup.

A wonderful breakfast with so much choice . We were made very comfortable and I was even provided with cough sweets for an annoying cough . A lovely place to stay to break our journey north .
It was a great stay . There was nothing we didn’t like.

We were welcomed to this cottage by two very friendly hosts Shaan and Sef who showed us around their beautiful home.
We stayed for 4 nights and had a very enjoyable time.
Shaan and Sef were so helpful and were always making sure that we were happy with everything’
The place was exceptionally clean and was so cozy by the fire that we chose to dine in with a takeaway rather than go out one evening.
Every morning we were served with a hot breakfast of our choice which was always perfect,
There isn’t anything that we could fault with this outstanding B&B cottage and we have already recommended it to others and we look forward to going back there soon as it felt like home from home.
Thanks again Sef and Shaan for making our stay Special, David & Lou.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to cater for my vegan diet. Our dog was made so welcome. We will definitely visit again.

The breakfast was very good, and the location was ideal. We are on a long journey from the north to the south and back again, and it broke our journey . It was quiet and peaceful, yet only a minute from the busy A1. Shaan and Sef were wonderful hosts, taking care of our every need. The room was spacious, and tastefully decorated, with some unexpected benefits such as remote control curtains and and automatic light into the en suite.
The only slight criticism was that the mattress was too soft for us, and I woke with a little backache.

Our stay here was wonderful! There was excellent communication before our arrival allowing us to locate the property with ease and our welcome could not have been more, well, welcoming! The cottage was beautiful and was stunningly decorated for the festive period but the real gem of this place are the hosts themselves! Our hosts were nothing but exceptional and everything had been thought out for the comfort and enjoyment of guests. There was not a single detail that was missed! It felt so comfortable here from the moment we arrived, the room was beautifully decorated and there was every home comfort and convenience. There is no real way to describe the breakfast that would do it justice. It was exceptional and there was an excellent variety to choose from. Notwithstanding the excellent experience this stay was also exceptional value for money!
There was honestly not a single thing that could have been improved. Our stay here was exceptional and made even more fabulous by our two wonderful hosts. I couldn't recommend this place more, I won't consider staying anywhere else when I visit the area again.

v friendly and comfy stay in great country location but 2 mins of A1. Great room and a lovely house. Defo recommend

This delightful place has recently been started as a B'n'B by Shaan and Sef - a really warm, welcoming and friendly couple for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Our room had the usual facilities customers now expect and was very clean and spacious, There were a few added treats on our arrival which were a lovely and appreciated touch.
Downstairs was a dining room for breakfast but we were allowed to use it for our supper and the microwave was available - places were laid at table and iced water provided - another lovely touch which made us feel very at home.
Our breakfast was pre-ordered on a form the night before and there was a range of cereals, fruit, a homemade fruit/yoghurt/granola pot which was delicious and limitless toast. A full English breakfast was delicious.
Although we stayed on a very cold winter's night, on a warmer day, there is a large plot of land to stroll in or soak up the sun and the rural views belie the fact that you are less than a mile from Markham Moor junction on the A1.
Our only sadness was that we only stayed one night but we will definitely return and hopefully stay longer.
Thanks a lot Shaan and Sef
No complaints. All great.

Lovely small cottage with some nice features. Great location for us travelling through.
No complaints from us.

Enthusiastic hosts new to the B&B game benefit from a brilliant location for anyone heading north or south on the A1 and needing an overnight stop - literally a minute off the trunk road and with a decent pub/restaurant close at hand for an evening meal.
Breakfast offer could be tweaked - self-service nature of toast and hot drinks means a lot of getting up and down, teapots/cafetieres would be worth thinking about.

Wonderful welcome from Shaan and Sef and nothing was too much trouble. Lots of extras for us and our dog who hopefully will star in the album of "The dogs who stayed"! Breakfast was fabulous too, with lots of choice and cooked to perfection. If back in the area we would definitely stay again as everything was superb.

We loved every minute of our stay here. The cottage was so full of character, homely and beautifully restored by Shaan & Sef. Such a peaceful location, yet so convenient to access main routes both north and south. Our room was so comfortable with a beautiful view of the garden and wonderful sunsets. Every need was catered for within our room, even a cosy bed and treats for our little dog Timber. Simply wonderful. Shaan and Sef are exceptional hosts, so welcoming and friendly who did everything to make our stay with them so wonderful. Breakfast is a feast not to be missed!!

This was my second visit, I stayed there on August 3 on my journey to North Yorkshire too. The hosts Shaan and Seff could not be more friendly and helpful, including recommending a nearby pub for an evening meal. The cottage is beautifully restored and the rooms very comfortable. The location is very quiet though very close to the A1. There is lots of choice for breakfast, I particularly liked Shaan's homemade granola, yogurt and berry pots!
It felt like staying with old friends embarking on a new venture!
There was nothing that I didn't like

Location was close to the highway but still far enough. The village itself was cute and very small.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

the cottage is situated in a small village with good road access to all the major routes. The cottage has been beautifully restored, and the place just gleems with the pride that Shaan & Saf have poured into the renovations. Shaan & Saf, were perfect hosts welcoming, and very warm personalities, they explained how to order breakfast and what to expect in the room. there is a wonderful montage of photo's on the stairwell and the reception area of the cottage is open and spacious.
i could not fault the attention to detail that they gave us, we were there for 2 nights and they made us feel that we had been there alot longer. perfect. Oh and it's in Robin Hood Country what more could you ask for.
if i had a niggle, and this it utterly ridiculous, the kettle in the room dribbles down the length of the kettle if making a cuppa tea, make sure the spout ins right over the cup. i feel embarrassed even writing this because really it is not a problem.
