Perfect location, excellent accommodations and gracious hosts and staff!

Quinta de Travassihos is a perfect location to base your visit to the Douro Valley. It is surrounded by vineyards and sits high atop a hill with great views of the surrounding valleys, vineyards and countryside. The owners and staff were gracious and knowledgeable. They have done an outstanding job in restoring an old building into a modern luxury accommodation. Special call out to the owners (Carlos and Helena) and Jean for making our stay such a wonderful experience. We will recommend Quinta de Travassihos to our friends and family!

The outdoor infiniti swimming pool is not heated.

A Slice of Tranquil Heaven

This boutique hotel is one of the best we have stayed at, and we travel a lot. Helena and Ricardo are so kind and hospitable, making us feel at home from the moment we walked in. We had a few fantastic meals there, drinks and snacks at the pool and the breakfast was outstanding. Our room was huge and spotless, with heavy shutters to keep out the heat and keep it dark for lie-ins. We got much help making tasting reservations and great pointers on where to go. The view from the pool is breathtaking, and I even had a 50-minute outdoor massage on the deck. Everything is modern, yet the interior decor and gorgeous antiques remain faithful to the property's rich history - the perfect combination. We did a challenging walk around the vast property and saw the goats, the fruit trees, the vineyards and the stream... what a great job this couple does at maintaining it! Book here, don't even doubt it.... it is a diamond of a hotel.

Quinta no Douro incrível

Piscina exterior com uma vista soberba e piscina interior bem original, um antigo lagar. A forma incrível como fomos recebidos. Pequeno almoço e jantar bastante bom. A repetir!!

Uma vez que é uma casa antiga, ouvia-se um pouco de barulho dos quartos vizinhos, mas nada que atrapalhasse.

Perfect for a romantic getaway

Amazing suite, with comfortable huge bed, great walkin shower, cosy lighting. Great selection of cheese for breakfast and amazing croissants and bread. Fresh orange juice. The owners are delightful, very welcoming and available. Very close to Peso da Régua where you can find amazing restaurants.

Only downside for us was that the indoor pool has no lounge/relaxation area, it’s only the pool itself. A detail to note is that there are stairs to go up to the rooms and there is no lift - however the rooms in the top floor allow you to park your car just outside the room door (it has a separate entrance besides the main door to the house).

Hotel novo, refinado, de muito bom gosto, quartos amplos, confortáveis, roupas de cama e banho de excelente qualidade. O ponto alto, entretanto, é a atenção e cordialidade do casal Ricardo e Helena, anfitriões refinados e acolhedores. A piscina interna aquecida é também um dos requintes da Quinta e o vinho, produção local da Quinta, é um Douro de respeito.

Espetacular!

A propriedade é incrível! Uma antiga casa de Quinta restaurada com perfeição. Nos sentimos em casa. Fomos muito bem recebidos pela Helena, contou-nos um pouco da história do local. Chegamos muito cansados de um passeio de bicicleta pelo Douro e fomos ao spa para relaxar. Sentimos ter ficado somente uma noite.

ארוחת הבוקר והערב היו נהדרות, מוגשות בטוב טעם, בעלי המקום והצוות נתנו שירות מעולה, יעיל ובעיקר לבבי, עם חיוך ורצון טוב לאורך כל שהייתנו!!! הנוף מהבית וסביבתו עוצר נשימה ומרגיע בו-בזמן. בהחלט נחזור שנית למקום כשרק נוכל.....

The owners are very humble and friendly, loved them! I definitely recommend it for the place, value and services provided! The views are just amazing and the atmosphere as well, very beautifully decorated made by the owners! I recommend watching the sunrise from the poolside, it’s a breathtaking view!

What a place this is ……

Absolute wonder 2 night stay with Helena, Ricardo, John and Marta, they really did make us feel like home from home. Nothing was too much trouble, we were looked after extremely well. Such a beautiful place to stay. With the 35 degree temperature, the outdoor pool was a god send. We also tried the indoor pool in the evening time. This is a very special place-we will be back. Thank you.

Lovely hosts, beautiful rooms, incredible pool with stunning views of the douro valley

Quinta de Travassinhos is a beautiful, peaceful place to relax and get away from the world. The room was lovely, a huge shower, clean + incredibly comfortable beds. The pool area is stunning with an amazing view. The staff could not have been kinder, more helpful or made our stay any better. Nothing was too much trouble, they provided a delicious three course dinner for 30 euros and went out of their way to book things for us. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and we could not recommend this place more.

There is honestly nothing at all we would change.

Charming and relaxing stay in a luxury Guest house in the middle of the beautiful Douro Valley

Warmful and familiar reception by the owners, they make you immediately feel even better as in your own home! The cleanness of this very charming Guest House is fabulous and the central location is great with a nice view on the beautiful vineyards. We highly appreciated that a private cook can prepare local dishes for the guests. A very big thank you to the devoted owners and all the affectionate staff members and please keep your place so authentic as it is, we love it!

This is a lovely home and a working Vineyard. The owners have had this property and their family for many generations. The owners were involved in ever aspect of our stay. When we needed some thing the staff seem to appear. Otherwise we felt very private. The food was wonderful and very traditional. The wine pairing was outstanding.

The driveway is steep, but they have figured out a way to make the property welcoming and accessible to people with mobility issues.

Beautiful views of the valley from both the terrace and the infinity pool. We enjoyed walks in the garden and amongst the grape fields. Very tasty breakfast.

The service is very attentive, friendly and they take care of your every need. The food is excellent, from breakfast, through lunch and dinner. Ricardo, Helena and John are totally dedicated to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The pool and the view are definitely amongst some of the best in the area.

Top class!

We were genuinely shocked by how incredible our stay was at Quinta de Travassinhos. We were taken by the spectacular scenery of the surrounding vineyards, though this was actually matched by the beautiful work the owners have done on the property. The interior is beautiful and stylish yet still homely. The pool and spa are also top class. The best part of our stay was how welcoming and helpful the team are, and how they made our stay very special. If you have a chance to stay here, you won't regret it, genuinely one of the best places we have ever stayed together. The energy in the place is also incredible, the owners work extremely hard to provide the best service possible, they clearly live and breathe hospitality. Thank you so much Helena and Ricardo!
