Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this listing. First, the listing indicates that the apartment is air conditioned, which was the most important amenity for our family given the extreme heat. This was inaccurate, as only 2 of the 4 bedrooms have a/c and the main living area with the kitchen, living room, and other 2 bedrooms did not. Of the two air conditioners, one was only blowing room temperature air and was unable to cool the room to a comfortable temperature (the other worked fine, so most of us slept in that room). The 2 rooms without a/c had overhead fans, but one was broken. When I reached out to the host, he sent someone to check the a/c and the fan, and he told us she said they were in fine working order (they were not). So, were were left with no air conditioning with daytime temperatures in the high 90s. The other reason I cannot recommend is that the host was extremely uncooperative and disrespectful when I reached out to him. After telling me his representative indicated everything was working fine, he added as a closing note that she told him the apartment was in a "disgusting" state when his she visited. I was shocked at his reply, and requested that he send someone over immediately to inspect the apartment because this was completely false, and the apartment was in the exact condition it was in when we checked in. Not surprisingly, he never replied to my request or sent someone to meet with me. The apartment was a good size and in a great location.

We all loved the house, it was comfortable and roomy with lots of kitchenware, dishwasher, washer etc. The beds were comfy and always plenty of hot water.
The roof terrace was great but the steps up were steep with an inward closing door that made carrying anything difficult.
I would definitely recommend the property to anyone in a group.
However there were things that need addressing.
The balconies were dirty, an overflowing ashtray was on the front balcony.
The towels need replacing, they were off white, thin and smelt fusty. I washed them all on a high temperature so at least they smelt better.
No washing up liquid or bin bags. I could have bought some but think they should be provided. The under sink cupboard was in such a mess I couldn’t find anything useful.
Two of the toilet seats were broken, I emailed the first day but nothing was done. The shower in the downstairs bathroom doesn’t fit in the wall holder so can only be used by holding it.
Some of the beach towels were covered in sand so don’t think they had been washed.
A small welcome pack would have been nice, we arrived after 9pm and would have liked milk, water, bread, butter at the least. Costs very little but means a great deal.
All small things but would have made the place perfect.

Great location central to all Taviras restaurants and bars. Quite area no problems with noise at night. All rooms have access to own bathroom and toilet. Traditonal Portuguese house.

We had never been to the Algarve region. In fact, it was our first trip to Portugal. Tavira has many points of interest, including the wonderful Camera Obscura. Property is across the river from the old part but very close to bridges that go across the river to the old part and it was nice to be in a real neighborhood. We took a taxi one day to Santa Luzia and went to beach and also enjoyed the town. Also took the ferry to Isle da Tavira. Gorgeous!

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful accommodation. We had a great time.
Martin was an extremely helpful host and special thanks to both you and Emanuela for your extra kind assistance upon our arrival.
Everything was just as promised and even better than we had imagined. The space worked so well for our family of seven adults. Even though we were right in the heart of things, it was still peaceful enough to sleep at nights.
The rooms that had air con were of course our favourite.
We loved being able to catch the ferry to the wonderful beach, which was so close by. Fantastic to take a stroll to the river any time of day.
First class accommodation in a town/city that we found to be most definitely worth visiting.
Thank you

Our family of four from the US stayed here with our friends, a family of five from Germany. This house couldn’t have been more perfect for us. The living space was big enough for all of us to enjoy the space at the same time. The kitchen was well equipped and we used it often (although we never could figure out how to use the stovetop). My family slept on the first floor - my husband and I in one room and the kids in the other. Their family slept in the two rooms on the second floor. There was enough room for all nine of us, and EACH room had its own bathroom! Four bathrooms! We enjoyed the rooftop, as well. We also appreciated the washer and dryer and used them several times. We didn’t find a hair dryer so you’ll need to bring your own.
The location was fantastic. We walked to town within a matter of minutes and could enjoy all Tavira had to offer. The ferry to the beach is a five minute walk and we used it every day. There is also a full grocery store just a few minutes’ walk away.
Parking was easy - we just needed to park down the block a little bit to get free parking. My only complaint is that the rooms on the first floor are hot at night. The rooms on the second floor have AC units but there are only fans on the first floor. We didn’t sleep well. Opening the windows didn’t help as there was no breeze and the temperature outside was the same as the inside.
I chose this place because it was the only place in Tavira I could find that is big enough to accommodate two families and I’m glad I found it. The value was great, too! We would definitely come back to this spot the next time we visit Tavira.

House was beautiful, finished to a very high spec. Very clean and very well equipped. It's in a central location with everything you need close by.
Even in October the first floor was still warm and the bedrooms warm at night, A/C would have been nice. As a group of 4 females we missed having a hairdryer and as no one brought one with them we all sported the wavy look!
They were our only niggles. Having stayed in a lot of properties by HomeAway this was by far one of the best. Having a bathroom each was a bonus, the open plan living was very sociable. The two terraces were lovely to sit on with a glass or wine or two.
All our pre travel arrangements went smoothly and Emanuella was there to meet us on arrival. We used Yellow Fish Transfers from Faro and they were super efficient.
A fab time was had by all and we were sad to leave.
