About this house rental
When you arrive at Sunset Pointe you are taken with the beauty of the landscaping, with mature trees that flank three sides of the house, and the inviting rockers that welcome you to start your stay by relaxing and slowing down as you rock your stress away. The majestic wood and beveled glass door give you the glimpse into the luxury accommodations that await within. Welcome to Sunset Pointe!
The main floor, with its hardwood floors, walls of windows and furniture selected for comfort, and the feeling of a lodge, takes your breath away as you view the gourmet kitchen, living room and dining area. The living room with its two-story river stone fireplace is the anchor to a room that lends itself to good conversation, putting puzzles together, cozying up to the warmth of a roaring fire and taking a nap on one of the two leather couches.
The dining area, with antler chandelier, boasts a dining room table that will expand to comfortably seat 12. An additional 5 can be seated adjoining at the breakfast bar so that you can all relish the tasty meals prepared in the fully equipped gourmet kitchen. Two refrigerators, two dishwashers, and 48" gas six burner, griddle and double oven, along with the large gas Weber grill, offer you the equipment to make your time in the kitchen fun and a gathering place for all. Granite countertops are plentiful for preparing and serving meals.
Off the kitchen, is a desk for you to keep that laptop, or write postcards, and where the first aid kit is kept. Cell phone booster for the decks and a security system are both on site for your comfort and needs. There is a landline, free domestic calling, in case your cell phone service is spotty.
The massive four poster bed entices you to climb in for a restful sleep enveloped by high quality linens in this serene master bedroom located on the main level. The natural light is perfect for reading in bed or enjoy your favorite show on the flat screen TV. Direct access to the main deck, will find you waking up and stepping outside to see the sunrise and lake. The bathroom, with slate tile and multiple shower head walk-in shower is decadent and the double sink vanity offers plenty of space for your counter items.
As you ascend the open staircase to the second floor, you will be surrounded by windows and when you reach the landing, two bedrooms await you. The first bedroom, with warm earth tones, has a coastal white king bed, made up with quality linens, chaise lounge, cushioned window seat and full bathroom. The three large windows overlook the trees and stunning view of Norris Lake.
The sunny yellow and earth tone second bedroom, is spacious with two queen beds, made with quality linens, cushioned window seat with view of the trees and lake, and a full bathroom.
Descend to the lower level where you are once again encountering a wall of windows, large deck and more views of the lake. A large home projection theater, comfortable seating where you settle in to watch a good movie, from the video library or television of your choosing, including HBO. The bar boasts a flat screen TV, ice maker and wine chiller. Bar stools and granite bar make for the perfect spot for viewing either TV, enjoying an iced beverage or snacking on a light meal. The house and decks have a six-zone audio system so music is available to you for all of your listening needs.
The first lower-level bedroom has a pine king bed with quality linens in soft hues of blue and white. Wake to the wall of windows and direct access to the deck. The private full bathroom and bedroom is a calming retreat.
Two twin beds grace the last bedroom with direct deck access. Quality bedding, with cotton quilts with a hint of the beach, along with private full bathroom, brings the idea of vacation straight to mind.
The larger bunk room has two sets of bunks consisting of three twins and one full bed with comfortable cotton quilts in a cabin theme of plaids. The large window allows lots of sunshine into the room and there is plenty of space to play and the full bathroom has a double vanity.
The coziest room in the house is an interior bunk room with one set of twin beds made up with cheery cotton quilts. Down the hall is a powder room.
Directly off the home theater and bar area, on the deck, is a comfortable conversation seating area for four where the view of the lake is glorious. Just a few steps away is the hammock when a good nap is in order.
On both the main and lower levels of the house are laundry rooms with large capacity top load washers and large front load dryers.
Meander down the stone step path to the fire pit that has plenty of seating, including a swing for two, for sharing stories, savoring s'mores and warming up on those chilly nights.
Just a few more steps down the stone path is the 70' bridge that spans the gap between land and the two-level floating dock. Chaise lounges and dining table with large umbrella offer yet another area to relax, read, converse, catch a few sun rays and feel the movement of the lake. Open the gate at the end of the upper deck and jump to make a splash in the lake. Down below is one covered slip and space to tie up two additional boats or jet skis.
Though the house is 5,000 sf and with two levels of deck, there is a sense of camaraderie and personal space for quiet time all in the same house.

Our group comes to Norris Lake every year, and this was our first time to stay at Sunset Pointe. The layout of the home was great for our 3 families/13 people. Beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was perfect for a large group. The 2 sinks with disposals, 2 dishwashers and 2 refrigerators made mealtimes and cleanup easy, and we never felt crowded or on top of each other. The large covered porch off of the kitchen was nice because we had a bit of a rainy week. We also enjoyed the double decker dock with all the lounge chairs.
The property owner provided lots of detailed information and was always responsive if we needed anything. He was great! The location was convenient, and we loved that we could easily head a different direction every day on our boat.
Like many homes on the lake, getting from the house to the lake is a challenging trek, whether you take the steps or the ramp. As long as everyone in your group has good mobility, it's fine, but it would be a challenge for anyone with balance issues, knee problems or very young children.
We loved our week at Sunset Pointe and definitely recommend this beautiful home!!

This is a beautiful house and property. We really enjoyed our stay here. The owner was great to deal with. The kitchen is amazing! There is a double oven, 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers. Perfect for big family cooking. We will definitely try to book here again.

This house was awesome! The view of the Lake was wonderful and having two of everything in the kitchen made our preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards a pleasure. We've stayed at many rentals for our Family Thanksgivings and this was one of the best. We communicated with Martha and she couldn't have been any nicer.
It was an incredible experience! We highly recommend staying here.

After almost 20 years of a family ski trip, this was one of the best places we've stayed. The facility was large, and very clean; everyone had their own bedrooms. Kitchen was beautiful ... everything was double! We were able to keep 3 boats on the dock ... 1 in the covered slip, the other 2 on the sides. We've already booked for 2023.

We had an amazing stay. The home was extremely clean, very roomy, extremely well thought out for large families. The cleanliness of the house was amazing and the owners were absolutely wonderful to work with. I would definitely recommend this home. It is very well taken care of and very accommodating. I would definitely rent this home again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sunset Pointe! Not only is the house beautiful and comfortable, but also well appointed, there was nothing that the kitchen didn't have. There was plenty of seating inside and out and the 2 refrigerators, dishwashers, and sets of laundry were extremely helpful for our large group. There are 2 ways down to the water, a concrete path, which is pretty steep, but better for getting coolers down and a stone stepping stone path that was easier if you take it slow. Once to the docks, there was plenty of seating on the sundeck and room to tie up our 2 boats. Martha did a great job communicating and I can almost guarantee that you will not regret the choice to stay here.

Our stay here was absolutely AMAZING! There was plenty of room for 6 families to come together. The kitchen was fully equipped with all of our cooking needs, the decor was cozy & inviting & bedrooms were perfect mini getaways from the rest of the family in the house. Would definitely stay again as well as refer others. Martha was also great with any communication concerning our stay.

The house is cute with space to hang out. Several small things not working well or at all. The grill wouldn't lite, except for a very small area. It was very dirty. The ovens also very dirty. I found with my bare feet chips of broken glass in the master bedroom carpet and more in the kitchen. The owners were nice over emails and the phone. Started laundry and found out the dryer didn't work. Never got the kitchen TV to work and didn't try others. The house has a lot of potential if managed better. We had trouble with the shower faucet controlling hot water. We didn't spend much time at the house. A couple of lamps didn't work and not sure what else. It is decorated nice. Beautiful view. The walk down to the dock is dangerous. Could use some steps. Overall not positive and wouldn't rent again.

This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy hanging out with family and friends. It is very clean, and has the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen in a vacation rental. The owners have made it feel welcoming by providing throw blankets, puzzles, and board games. The perfect escape!

This was a seamless process from start to finish. It was the perfect meeting place for our Wisc./ Ill. families to meet our Florida families for a wonderful Thanksgiving. The home & property is gorgeous and fit us all perfectly. We would come back in a heart beat!!

From the moment we walked in the door we felt totally relaxed just looking at the amazing views of the lake. We began unloading and unpacking only to discover that each bedroom came with its own bath/shower and how comfortable the spaces were.
From there we made our way down to the dock. It is a two-tiered dock so plenty of room for the boat, and plenty of room to lounge away the day in the sun, enjoying the views and the water.
Our favorite part of the home was the kitchen! It is so tastefully decorated, highly functional, and well stocked. Having two dishwashers and two refrigerators certainly helped. Preparing meals was enjoyable with the views the kitchen offered and the space for plenty of helpers.
The lower level offered a bar and theatre, but our weather was so nice we did not take advantage of these, instead we spent much of our evenings talking and relaxing on one of the decks.
We had some questions for the owners before arriving and they responded quickly, making them extremely easy to work with.
Our vote, we would definitely return to Sunset Pointe!

I wish I could give this place a million stars! The home is so beautiful with plenty of room for a large family. Two dishwashers and two refrigerators were wonderful to have. But the porches and the dock were our favorite -- they made it pretty hard to leave! We had a memorable week of floating and boating - our best family vacation ever! Thanks so much - we truly hope to be back someday!!

What an amazing home! We had a group of 17 people, and the property provided plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Sunset Pointe is beautifully landscaped and the view of the lake from the house is amazing. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped with two refrigerators / freezers, two dishwashers, and plenty of food storage. I've stayed at many VRBOs and have never seen a kitchen so stocked so well with every kitchen implement/gadget imaginable. The design allows for multiple people to prepare food simultaneously which is a bonus for a large group. Each bedroom has a private bath and plush linens are provided. There are plenty of areas to steal away for some private/quiet time and the theater and bar on the lower level was perfect for viewing the NBA finals (Go Cavs!). We really enjoyed spending afternoons on the lovely boat house deck...perfect place for an evening cocktail and conversation. The owners are wonderful to work with and are extremely gracious. I would not hesitate to book this property again. Absolute paradise.

As you arrive at Sunset Pointe the rental is welcoming and well landscaped but as you enter the massive beautiful front door your breath is taken away by the openness of the living room, kitchen and view of the lake. Everything is well appointed and the beds are so comfortable. The chef's kitchen has all that you could ever need to whip up delicious meals to be enjoyed at either the dining table or outdoor on the deck's dining table.
We were nine friends that spent five days at Sunset Pointe and the layout of the house lent itself to privacy and to furniture groupings where wonderful conversation took place. Whether laying in the hammock (sleeping that is), or resting on one of the many loungers the serene peacefulness of the house and the lake slows you down so that you just "enjoy".
Many hours of movie watching in the projector lounge had us laughing and it was fun choosing what to watch for the next movie from the wide selection on hand.
Each bedroom was thoughtfully decorated and it was a treat to have bedrooms with their own full bathrooms.
I highly recommend Sunset Pointe for your stay on Norris Lake!

This is our fourth year staying at Sunset Pointe. We are a group of 15 or 16 ladies who love to get away together to simply enjoy "girl time". Every year we discuss other options, but none compare to this beautiful home on Norris Lake, so we keep coming back! The home has an amazing view, the rooms are large and comfortable, the gourmet kitchen is incredible, and the seating areas are large enough to accomodate our group so that we can all spend time together. The theater room is an added bonus for us, and is a perfect place to end our day. In previous years we have had both rain and sunshine, but the house is so well-appointed that it matters very little. The owner has been very attentive to our needs, and shows his commitment by offering a well-maintained, beautifully decorated, and clean rental home. He responded quickly to our questions, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great vacation. I would HIGHLY recommend Sunset Pointe!

We have stayed in multiple vacation homes over the years for our yearly Norris Trip. I can now say with certainty, this will be the only place we stay from now on!
The owners have been so easy to work with over our time here! Super accommodating for everything we have requested and needed.
This house is perfect in every way. Its incredibly spacious, with room for a large group of vacationers. Its massive kitchen makes cooking for the group an effortless task. (I wish my kitchen at home was this grand and spacious)
The bedrooms are just as Magnificent. Each with comfy Beds and loads of room.
Now lets talk about the whole reason you come to Norris. TO BE OUTSIDE!! Start by walking out onto multiple floors of stunning decking on that back of this house. Each floor gives you a remarkable view of the lake! Hammocks, chairs, & lounges give you a great way to relax while looking down at Norris' beauty.
When you are ready to head down to the water, take a trek down the steps or use the ramp to my favorite spot on property. A Bridge connecting to the double decker Boat Dock!!!! Park your boats in one of the slips, and come up to the top deck to hang out in one of many lounge chairs. When your ready to get in the water, take the jump from the top deck!!!! Or go down to the bottom deck and ease into the water!
Whatever your idea of the perfect lake vacation is, This house gives it to you!!

Sunset Pointe is a wonderful home on a beautiful lake. The house and dock are amazing. We vacationed with 3 other families totaling 17 people. The house very spacious and we never felt cramped. The kitchen is amazing, with 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers and 2 pantries. The sunsets from the deck are to die for. The kids(adults included) loved jumping from the top of the dock. We can't wait for our trip in 2018.
