We had such a great time on this trip! The house had everything we could need and more and Michelle was super responsive with any questions we had. We loved getting to grill, use the kayaks, and go to the nearby beach. Would definitely come back and stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Oyster so much! Honestly there wasn’t much that this little bungalow didn’t have! It was slightly cold out first couple days, we spent them in the sunroom reading, and out in the living room watching the fire crackle. We did a lot of meals here instead of eating out, everything is about 20-30 mins out, so I do suggest arriving with the basics As far as foods, there’s a food lion about 10ish mins away if you wanna stop before you get there. We did drop the crab pots trying to catch some crabs, but it’s early April and had no luck, same for fishing. We also enjoyed several different thrift stores in this area. We did decide to treat our selfs to one nice meal out during our stay, at the tides inn, I have to say, it was one of our best meals EVER. Our server CeCe was knowledgeable and attentive. I can’t suggest this place more for a nice romantic dinner out. It was just me and my boyfriend who stayed here at the lazy oyster, but it would be so well suited for a family as well. Plenty of rooms to spread out, Even a play set up front of the property. Once the weather warmed up we went for a hike to fossil beach, which is about an hour from the residence, the hike was easy and scenic, the beach was clean and unique. If you like wildlife and the water definitely check it out! All in all, this was a wonderful little get away. Would definitely stay again!

The property exceeded expectations and proved to be the perfect spot for relaxing and adventuring over a long Thanksgiving weekend. At first sight the word that came to mind was ‘magical.’ Tucked next to a water cul-de-sac, the views are spectacular. Equally as wonderful, our hosts paved the way for nearly any activity. There are boats, fishing rods, a croquet set, board games, a hot tub, and more. We gathered each day in the “Florida room” to talk and read. We had daily excursions to various places tucked here and there, and all within easy drives. We slept on comfy beds, and all-in-all felt spoiled, which in retrospect is just what I needed. As icing on the cake, Little Wicomico is dog-centric and since we have two, they, and us were very happy. The plan is to return and in case it’s not clear by now, I can’t wait! Thank you, Arlene, for “our” top-notch vacation paradise, as well as for your kindness and stellar communication. We left this morning with gratitude.

Wonderful accommodations and picture-perfect setting. Our host, Arlene, was incredibly kind and responsive. The house and grounds are appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was equipped with spices and condiments, there were plenty of towels and they even had crab pots and canoes for outdoor fun.
We take a long weekend at this time each year but we usually go to the Outer Banks. This year we decided to try Heathsville and we were so glad we did. The surrounding towns are all charming, we had a wonderful dinner at Horn Harbor Restaurant, and found lots of little shops and thrift stores to fill our days.
We will be back Arlene, thanks again for your hospitality!

My family of 3 recently stayed for a long weekend Thursday- Sunday. It was exactly what we were looking for and needed. We wanted somewhere remote we could enjoy, disconnect, have fun, and make memories as a family. The house is very comfortable and welcoming, it’s very easy to feel at home and relaxed. Everything you need is provided and labeled! We purposefully wanted a vacation that encouraged us to slow down but that by no means meant we were bored. There was so much to do, we had a blast all weekend! Sitting outside and listening to nature and the birdsong is such a good reset, there were many fish jumping and we even spotted a few river otters. Arlene was wonderful and helpful from the moment I contacted her with questions about the house! During our stay she answered right away as questions popped up. She also provided a ton of info before arrival that was greatly appreciated. Checking out was easy. Vir-mar beach is close by and a great place to visit and spend some time. Other than that and the grocery store we did not leave the property. We had such a great time and are looking forward to returning in the near future. Thank you Arlene for sharing this beautiful space with our family 😊

This is our second time staying here. It’s perfect for outdoorsy type. We stayed two weeks and left the house only 3 times. Place had everything you need. It’s perfect. Caught tons of crab from dock, saw stingrays swim into our bay, jellyfish, eel, flounder, eagles, SO MUCH NATURE TO ENJOY! Thank you Arlene!

We wanted a fun and low key weekend away and this was great. There were just three of us so we had lots of space and really enjoyed the water view, kayaks, and eating out on the deck. Took the ferry out to Tangier one day and went to a nearby vineyard and Kilmarnock.

We had an amazing time on our stay. The house was perfect for us, they had everything we needed. We fished and crabbed everyday from the docks and took advantage of the canoes and kayaks. I will definitely stay again

Very pleasant stay! Couldn't be any closer to the water, and it is just a 5 mile paddle to the bay! Even though the neighbors were somewhat close, it still felt very private. I also want to say how well the home was stocked and labeled.....the host literally thought of everything! Only thing was the sea nettles that prevented swimming, but it is to be expected at the time of year we were there and the location of the home. Overall great vacation and would stay again!

We had a great time in July, very hot outside, but the accommodations were great and we had a great time teaching fishing and crabbing skills. All were comfortable and happy and we were a large group with a wide age range!

This is a great property with a lot to offer. The sunroom view is fantastic and we enjoyed our morning coffee there every day. We made good use of the hot tub and the gas grill accounted for multiple meals. The watercraft provided hours or fun for all. We all enjoyed the quiet location and we enjoyed watching the area wildlife.

I read the previous reviews and thought to myself no way can a property be that great. I am here to tell you that it can, down to the sighting of a river otter. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful spot for your vacation, the Little Wicomico Cottage will fit the bill to a T. The experience is only made better by the extremely responsive owners.

Little Wicomico Cottage gave our family a great riverfront getaway. We immersed ourselves in nature with canoeing, inspecting the shoreline, watching the geese & osprey in nest building, and enjoying sunrise and sunset from sunroom.

We love this place and it's our second stay. The view is outstanding, the inside is cute and cozy. It feels like a place the owner's family takes good care of and visits often for their own holidays. Looking forward to another visit in the future!

This place was amazing. Just what my family of 8 needed to get away from the real world. We were able to reach the owners whenever we needed them and they left treats for our puppies and kids. Very nice and so clean. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be returning.

This is a very well maintained property. Very clean. Can watch the oyster boats while sipping morning coffee and watch the sun set over the river in the evening. Great place to walk the dog; almost no car traffic. Fire in the fireplace in the evening was perfect for the cool windy evenings. Sure the warm weather months have more activity and traffic, but would certainly return for another stay.

First, the owners are such wonderful people to work with and very accommodating. House has everything labelled, so things are easy to find.
Mornings here are really something special. Watch the sun and mist over the water as little fish jump while you enjoy your coffee or tea.
You could swim off the dock in warm weather and we enjoyed quiet time out one evening at sunset on the Cano. We highly recommend this home and it's owners.

This was our 3rd time staying at this property. I often tell Arlene the property manager that it is my "happy" place, and I mean it every time. We love every single thing about this special little piece of heaven that we found!!
