About this cabin rental
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our spacious mountain home, Red Star Lodge, is your home away from home. Red Star Lodge is only 15 minutes from Helen and 90 minutes from Atlanta, secluded but close to everything. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of town, or visit the many wineries in the area. Relax with friends and family in a mountain retreat that is modern but rustic, spacious but cozy. The cook's kitchen seats 10 for those nights you want to stay in and the firepit area features a large gas grill. The house also sleeps up to 10. The two master suites have ensuite bathrooms. The loft master suite has a queen bed, an LCD TV, a private balcony, a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The main floor master features a king bed and wall mounted LCD TV with a full bath and laundry room. The lower level bedroom has two queen beds and the living area features a queen sleeper sofa. A full bath services the lower level. All bathrooms have upgraded amenities provided. The two great rooms on both floors feature floor to ceiling gas log fireplaces and LCD TVs. The lower level great room has a kitchenette with bar seating and a dining table. The game room features arcade and tabletop games, with PacMan, ping pong, air hockey and more. Enjoy the 6 person hot tub and watch the deer gather on the lawn below. Hi speed WiFi throughout the house keeps you connected. Visit https://helenga.org/ to see many things to do nearby. At the end of the day relax in the comfy chairs on the upper deck while twilight sets on Mount Yonah. Very nice and clean. Had everything we needed. Our group included my son and his wife, the three children ages 7,9 & 12. and me, Grandpa. We were gone most of the time but when we were at the cabin the games and the hot tub kept everyone pretty busy. We had a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Red Star Lodge! I want to start with saying how wonderful Christie was with her quick and detailed replies and recommendations to all of my questions pre-trip. She made it such a pleasant experience that I felt she was a friend by the end of all our exchanges! Though I booked this outside of my travel credentials, and did not mention this to Christie, I am a travel agent, I work with travel suppliers all day long, and I wish that the customer service from all of them was half as good as what she provided me.
The house is exactly as shown in the photos. It is SO well stocked with everything we could possibly have needed. I brought so many items that typically are needed when renting a house or condo, but I could have left all of it at home. House was very clean, upper deck is amazing. Beds were extremely comfortable. We all slept so well (this group typically does NOT say that!). The game room is wonderful. We fully utilized the PacMan/Galaga arcade game, sand shuffleboard, air hockey, ping pong, and chess board. We brought several games with us, but there are many boardgames provided. Nice beach towels provided right by the lower balcony slider door to the hot tub.
We visited Yonah Mountain VIneyards which was a pleasant 15ish min drive from the house. Gorgeous winery! I had mentioned we wanted to visit a winery or two and she sent me several recommendations with descriptions of each.
We are already talking about returning!

Chrisite's cabin was over the top! One of the best we've stayed in by far. As soon as you step in you feel welcomed. Little details throughout the house and have to mention the solar lights around the fire pit area, so inviting. The girls loved having their own area to sing, dance, and have movie night without having to hushed when they were up late giggling. They had a ball. The cabin is well equipped. The surrounding area is quiet, a great place to relax. Just minutes from Helen and Clarksville. Christie was very reaponsive with communication. We're already planning our next trip back.

This is my first time ever using Vrbo, and Christie was incredibly nice and helpful in making sure I felt comfortable. The cabin was absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views of the tree lines.
It’s incredibly peaceful when you sit on any of the decks and just take a moment to appreciate the view. The cabin has a Keurig, and I forgot my K-cups! Fortunately, we had brought coffee, but there were 2 pods hanging out that I could use which I thought was a really nice touch.
No one had any complaints about the sleeping arrangements, and I can say that the bed I slept in was quite nice. We had a party of 8. The furniture was comfortable, and the whole place itself was just welcoming.
There was provided shampoo and conditioner which was appreciated as well. There were also plenty of towels for the hot tub which became a focal point of hanging around and chatting around it.
The fire pit was also fantastic! We only used it the last night of our stay and I’d wished we’d have used it a bit earlier. There’s just something about sitting around a fire with friends that’s nice.
We went tubing down the river in Helen and had a blast. The local scene is full of restaurants and bars with a lot of people just walking around.
Overall, I would say this is a fantastic option to get away a bit and relax.

This cabin was amazing! the property owners were above and beyond accommodating and friendly! We will never forget the memories we made! House was very clean, the most amazing sheets I have ever slept on! The game room was a huge hit with the kids and adults, and the hot tub was a perfect ending to everyday! Last but not least, cant beat coffee on the balcony in the rocking chairs in the mornings! I would book again and again!!

First of all, the property itself is extremely beautiful. It looks just like the photos. Almost everything needed is in the cabin itself. However, the sheets smelled like someone who hadn't washed their hair in a while and you could visibly see stains on the bed skirts surrounding the sheets. The smell was overwhelming and much different from a dusty smell you would typically get from a vacant house. The hand towels were filthy and you could tell they had been used. This is confusing because the instructions say to strip sheets and do all of this cleaning, that wasn't done before you got there. Especially because the owner said someone else was checking out the day we checked in. Also, check out is at 10 and we didn't have time to go through the entire house and clean it before the "cleaning crew" cleaned it, so it was very stressful during check out and almost felt like we didn't vacation at all. The property is very VERY secluded and you will need a truck to get passed the construction that's being done on the way up to the drive way. Other than that, the view is amazing it felt very warm and would be perfect for the holidays, just be weary of the drive for a grocery store :)

Home and property were both very nice. The view from the house was beautiful (surrounded by Forrest, with a mountain in the background). Plenty of kitchen wear, towels, and most every normal house utensil was available. It was about a 15 minute ride to downtown Helen from the property, the house was nice and secluded with little to no noise pollution. The property manager was quick to reply, and the booking process was painless. We really enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning in the future. I recommend this place??

Spent a week at Red Star Lodge. Loved it and would definitely book again. We were familiar with the area from previous stays at Unicoi State Park and I much preferred this lodge to camping! Wonderful area with lots of great places to visit and hike. The home was spacious and beautiful with awesome views of the sunsets. Kitchen had everything you could need. Beds/mattresses were comfortable and having three fulls bathrooms was a plus. A fireplace on both floors was super nice. The small negatives (which were by no means a deal breaker) were 1) that the house is noisy even when you are trying to be quiet for those still sleeping, and 2) that the WiFi was rather slow. Truly, having a poor internet connection was a plus as we were there to spend time with people, not machines! Overall a five star vacation rental!

The home was exactly as shown in the pictures. Excellent location - just minutes from downtown Helen. Excellent communication both by VRBO, and more importantly, by the homeowner. If you are looking for a well appointed mountain hideaway, with a beautiful mountain view this is your location.

The house was perfect for our family Christmas vacation in the mountains. The views and sunsets on the porch were all that I had hoped for. It was only minutes from Helen. The house offered ample room for us all and I fell in love with the kitchen island! I would definitely consider coming back!

The lodge is picturesque and the view from the great room and deck is fantastic. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. Great kitchen!

The play room and downstairs bedroom create a nice separate area for the kids to play and be noisy with out bothering everyone. The upstairs area is more a large common space with the third bedroom in a loft above the living room / fireplace. The main floor bedroom is large and is the only place on in the upper level of the house where there is any privacy. The kitchen is awesome and well equipped. Lots of storage and nice appliances. Love the large pull out kitchen garbage can. No silly little "kitchen size" can here. Hot tub was clean and worked perfectly. The fire pit was cozy and rings nicely like a bell if you tap the side.
The property is beautiful and completely surrounded with trees. If you want outside place to run and play, say ball or frisbee, keep in mind the whole property is fairly steeply graded. The driveway is between 10 an 16 degrees slope. The inside offers plenty of play area for the kids and the decks around the front of the property are very large.
We loved our stay and would definitely recommend. the only thing I'd caution about is if you want to walk out of the cabin and have a large open, flat area to run and play, you will not have that here. Heavy wooded and steep grade property. But Hey, Its the Mountains!! thats why your there!

We had the children and grandchildren there with us from 9/3-9/6 and it was perfect! Roads were a little curvy. Driveway had enough room for two full size suv’s and two small sports cars. And one spot left for everyone to back up. Three full size SUV’s would be a little tight. So much to do in the home itself. We spent more time there than we did downtown.

We stayed with our two kids and both sets of grandparents and had a wonderful time. Both young and old enjoyed the house. We would definitely stay there again if we are back in the area. The owner was easy to work with as well. Thanks for a great stay!

We throughly enjoyed our stay and the view of Yonah Mountain. Location is conveniently close to many trails and water fall hikes. Also found a few new favorite Vineyards in the area that were a short drive and Helen a few miles away. The kitchen is spacious and was well appointed with everything you would need to cook family meals. The new owners have made some fantastic upgrades to the property, and made it feel very welcoming with provided bathroom amenities and blankets to cuddle with on chilly nights. The downstairs game area is the perfect space to spread out on those rainy days with ping pong, sand table shuffleboard, arcade games, board games and puzzles. The owner was quick to respond to a minor fireplace issue and was immediately resolved the same day. Our family slept well during our entire trip and were thrilled to find such a fantastic property that was also pet friendly!! Definitely on our list as a new favorite cabin to visit in the North Georgia area.

Our family loved everything about this home. It feels like you are staying at your sister’s only she’s gone shopping. The owners thoughtfully had a Christmas tree and other holiday decor out for our week after Christmas stay. It is beautifully decorated. Starter staples were provided. The space is open and functional too. View is pretty in the winter. Gorgeous December sunsets. Two stone gas fireplaces! Game room with complete kitchen downstairs, same floor as hot tub. Bedroom with 2 full beds. Game room couch is sleeper sofa. Top bedroom is a loft. Middle floor bedroom is a king. Full bathroom on every floor. I really love this house. Close to Helen, less than hour to 2 different state parks. Plenty of hiking opportunities. The driveway is steep. We had no issues with it but we had no snow nor ice. The roads were in good condition and we can no problems in our minivan. We did see deer.
This home is just as listed, well cared for with many extra touches. The owners definitely went above & beyond for us to enjoy our week together.

I did put a 4 star rating on accuracy of description. This is bc in the brief overview it says 4 bedrooms. I will take equal responsibility that i overlooked that they were considering the open living area with the sofa bed.
But overall we all absolutely loved the space and location of the cabin.
Gorgeous views and sweet little accents and amenities, especially for the holidays.
Owners/manager was super comunicative and friendly!
Would highly recommend!

There was so much to entertain the whole family at the cabin. The kids enjoyed the air hockey table, ping pong and the hot tub. The owners thought of everything down to beach towels to use after enjoying the hot tub. We hope to go back soon!!

After a lot of research, I booked this cabin and it exceeded my expectations. We have stayed at many VRBO rentals in TN but decided to try GA this time. I was sure that this cabin could not compare to our favorite but I was wrong. The cabin was well appointed which is very important to my family as we had planned on cooking Thanksgiving dinner and other evening meals at the location. From paper products and spices to the hand mixer, this place had it all. They even had shampoo, conditioner and body soap in all the facilities. The hot tub was the hidden gem after a day at Dollywood. We enjoyed the grill and outdoor firepit as well as the game room. We tend to be an over competitive family so many laughs (and a few dollars) were shared over air hockey and UNO at the large dining table. It was nice that all of us fit at the table but the counter stools were nice for the kids to enjoy breakfast. Helen was cute and very busy. Enjoyed checking out the Old Sautee Store and surrounding establishments. The new owner was amazing!!!! We were the first guests to visit the cabin after transfer of ownership and they could not have been more invested in ensuring our vacation was a success. This family vacation was a success and is ensuring new memories for our newest generation and some new one for our oldest. Thank you, Christie, for sharing your home with us!

Our party, six adults, four young children, and a dog, had a wonderful long weekend. Well appointed, neat and clean, with a fun game room, fire pit, and hot tub, this was a great place to have our family gather. Plenty of outdoors things to do nearby. Highly recommend it!

Excellent location and close to many great hiking trails. Quiet area but only a 10 - 15 minute drive from Helen. The place is bigger than it looks in the photos and it was well equipped with everything we could have wanted. Our family really enjoyed the gameroom. There are a few things that could use some general repair work or just some TLC, but nothing that impacted our stay.

We stayed 2 nights with friends in February, 2023. The house is very roomy with each couple having their own bedroom and bath. The views were beautiful and the weather was great for February. We skipped the tourist stuff and were content to spend our time together looking at the scenery.
The owners were very prompt to respond to our questions and we had no issues that required their attention.

Really enjoyed staying at the Red Star Lodge. Very nice and pretty secluded location. We were able to spend family time together roasting marshmallows and playing in the game room. I did notice that the lower level could use some new paint and had a few damages but I guess that could be expected due to it being a gaming area. Overall it was very nice and we would visit again. Not too far from Helen, but far enough to be away from the busy life. Thank you for having us
