The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

We had such a lovely time at Ways end.
The house was well equipped for everything we needed and the beds were super comfy!
Great location to stay and explore the Cotswolds, Stow town was just around the corner from the property and took about a 5 min walk.
There is a Tesco which is handy and in walking distance.
Lots of great pubs and little shops, we will definitely be back!

On arrival found everything was spotless. The property is well maintained with everything you need and just around 7 minutes walk from the main square.
The eggs, milk, biscuits, and cleaning pack were all thoughtful touches.
We also appreciated the courtesy text contact from the StayCotswold representative during our stay.

Cottage is in a great location, just a very short walk from the shops etc. The garden is secure for dogs, and there are plenty of dog walks nearby. The beds are supreme - so comfortable, a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The cottage is nearly fitted out, and it shows. There was a lovely welcome pack - eggs, milk, biscuits etc, which was a great touch. Stay Cotswold were very friendly and professional, and so, yes, I'd definitely recommend.

We stayed at Ways End in Stow for four nights as a family of four and we took our dog with us. I contacted the property mangager in advance to ask if an earlier check-in could be arranged, and they were very helpful and this was arranged for us. Location wise, its less than a five minute walk to the Market Square of Stow. It was very busy being half term week. Despite it being a busy area there wasnt any noise and it was peaceful. There are plenty of places to eat, and most of all seem to allow dogs too. We had a nice meal at The Kings Arms. We also ordered Pizza from Zonda Pizza ( a van at Stow Rugby Club) which is a short 3 minute drive, we would recommend it was really nice. We enjoyed walking around Lower Slaughters with our dog, our dog loved playing in the water (a five minute drive away). Ways End met our needs for a short stay with family. The bedrooms upstairs were spacious and the beds were really comfortable. The downstairs bed I found quite uncomfortable, it was very hard. Things that might be helpful, a welcome folder, with walking routes, places to visit, takeaway menus etc. All in all, we had a lovely stay and found StayCotswold very helpful.

We loved Ways End. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable, we felt relaxed as soon as we had settled in!
It’s in a great location in Stow and for the surrounding attractions. We particularly enjoyed Batsford Arboretum, the Falconry Centre and the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
We can’t wait to return!

Accommodation and location was perfect. Milk, fresh eggs and butter provided to help us along. . Our group consisted of 4 adults and the house was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again .

Perfect location to explore the surrounding villages, as well as Stow itself. All amenities available. Very quiet. You could see a few cars passing, but couldn't hear them. Perfect break

This cottage is in a fantastic position only minutes away from the centre of Stow in the Wold. The beds were very comfortable and the property was well equipped.
Some people may struggle to use the smart TV, we figured it out, but we couldn’t find any instructions.
It was good to having off road parking available.

We stayed as 4 adults at ways end and had a nice time with some minor hiccups.
The property seems newly renovated and is a great location walking distance into stow on the wold.
Beds were super comfy although the bathroom is quite small and I would think this property was more suited to 2 adults and children as space is a little limited.
The welcome bread and eggs was a nice touch however the properly just lacked basic items when you book to stay somewhere.
For example no shower gels/ hair wash in bathroom & basic items were missing such as a hairdryer, iron and fire lighter to get the fire going however once I contacted the host they did come to provide these.
A lovely stay but needs some minor holiday let attention to detail touches adding.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Ways end.
The location is just perfect as it’s on a nice quiet estate with just a short walk into the centre of the town.
The cottage itself was nicely decorated with some lovely touches, fresh sourdough bread, butter and eggs.
There is a nice big porch area for dirty boots and coats after amazing walks.
The beds are very comfy as are the pillows.
A few negative points: No bin in the bathroom (which is downstairs) or the bedrooms which I feel is a necessity. No hairdryer provided either ☹️ the one time I didn’t take one as they are usually provided!!!!
There’s no washing machine, which wasn’t an issue for us, but if we were staying longer or had young children we may have appreciated one.
Only one bedside lamp in the bedrooms, I feel there should be one each side of a double bed.
Overall we had a much needed enjoyable stay and would definitely come back and stay here again.
A hot tub in the garden would have been the icing on the cake!!
